Zirco wasn't sure what it was that had his spirit so down lately. He spent his days searching for food, chasing creatures he had no desire to eat, and sleeping. Until now it had seemed a good life. He'd felt a pang of sadness when his mother left him, but she assured him he was old enough to be on his own. It hadn't taken him long to realize she was right, and he began his daily routine that he was still performing to this day. But now it just wasn't fun anymore, and he wanted a change. So he was setting out today to see what the world had to offer him.
He'd been walking now for a few hours, and his stomach was telling him it was time to find something to eat. The only problem was that the surrounding landscape lent little towards filling his empty stomach. As he looked east, west and south, all he saw was sand and rocks. What little vegetation grew in the sandy soil, produced no food. He was lucky enough to find water near one group of bushes, and he filled his complaining stomach with as much water as he could. That he hoped, would give him a few more hours of travel, and bring him out of this dry landscape, and into a more hospitable one.
