I would like to get something off my chest... I have no idea why this game is called Lost Saga... Perhaps it is because it is a Saga... that is indeed lost... for that, I do not know... because I have foundeth it.

If you like Super Smash Brothers it's like a Korean equivalent Free to Play online brawler that's being re-released in about two days. You can get in on the open beta and enjoy the hilarious engrish text most of which doesn't make sense right now. Don't really worry about losing your characters or your progress... you get to keep it all upon release of the game.

Re-released?

A while ago it was owned by Indonesians or something under the name OGPlanet. Now they brought it over to America under WeMade USA. New servers in California and for some reason Indonesians and Europeans will be banned upon its arrival. So, that's something...

Characters, game play, and modes

You can almost literally be anything from a pirate to a ninja... knight, a capoeira whatever that is, a mech, a werewolf... granted your high enough rank. Seriously, the possibilities are endless. There's a stormtrooper, a samurai, and a bunch of other classes I can't think of at the moment. Right now, there are 30 classes. In the original game there was 100. Some of which fully featured anime characters from Blazblue and Guilty Gear as well as a few others. (You know I had to mention this. emotion_awesome Guilty Arc System Works fan.) Variety is one thing I sure do love about vidja gamez. They plan on expanding the roster further upon official release.

Set up is pretty basic and simple. Your character has 4 moves along with your normal combo button and jump. The game literally has three buttons you press. A, S, and D. You use the arrow keys to move around. You may change the keys in your settings at any time. Special moves are performed by pressing AS, ASD, AD, or SD once their cooldown timer is up.

The modes are as follows: Death Match, Team DM, Prisoner (elimination) Boss Raid, and solo play through a tower full of skeletons that is nowhere near as exciting as I made that sound. The game is typically a PvP game. You just hop into battles and start hitting things! The exceptions are the chat rooms which you can use to raise your fishing and relic skills which will net you better money and gear. If you fancy getting money while you are away. You can just go fishing and leave. When you come back, your bag will be full of things to sell for some gp... hopefully. A good portion of that has to do with luck. Relic takes more effort, and is more for if you want to just stay and chat.

Gear, Stats, and Customization

Your abilities come from the gear your character is wearing. If you pick the knight for example: His cape is his trinket ability, his helmet is an ability, his armor is an ability, and his weapon is an ability. If you hit someone enough times to where their HP gets dangerously low, they begin to lose the items they had on them before they died. Not forever, only until they respawn. You may than pick the item up and wear it, replacing the ability you had previously on your bar. You can also switch to the characters you own mid battle. You may have up to 12 character slots filled to switch between at any time.

Currently there are only males in the game. That's being fixed upon the release. (Females are currently five dollars for some reason. I am not sure why... Do enough quests and you get a stylus pack that you can make a free female with.) Each character can level up and you can put a point into their cooldown timers, attack, defense, or even fall damage for if you get knocked off a cliff. Once that character expires by timer, it will keep all of his/her stats until you obtain them again. Which brings me to character/item expiration:

They can last anywhere from 2 to 30 hours or maybe even a few days. Most armor and characters are timed and expire. The timer only ticks down when in battle. Those lucky enough may find permanent items in chests as well as permanent character slots. If you're lucky enough to find good gear for your characters you can make something a little like my hideous monstrosity:

User Image

Ahhh... it's good to be a rabid death bunny.

Your characters hair, hair color, eyes, and unmentionables can be changed upon leveling your character (as most things require you to rank up) Once you obtain these, they are permanent.

Inventory Slots and what to expect upon first login (Beta Only)

You're given 150,000 GP upon arrival and a bunch of characters. (Beta Only. If you're starting new you won't be given anything but one.) You use the characters and they stay in your inventory slot until they expire. Once they do, you'll have to buy them again, but they keep their level. Most, if not all characters you can't buy until you reach a certain rank... so WeMade basically makes it easier on you by giving you a taste of the characters that they gift you upon your join... you get a few hours to pal around with some unique characters you won't be able to get until you have ranked up. Some of which you can't obtain until you get to the highest rank.

You'll be given a plethora of quests involving fishing naturally, relic hunting, and killing other players, as well as exploring the many aspects of the game. Some rewards involve treasure chests that have chances of spawning highly sought out permanent items that won't expire on you. You can keep the characters in your inventory and not use them, furthering the time you have with them. You may also use them to further timers of the same ones you currently have.

I've been recently finding this game a lot of fun and it's highly recommended if you want a cheap free to play brawler with a very good amount of customization or even if you just want to fish somewhere.... yeah... that... The fact is: you're always progressing even while you're away.

The only downside is that I have found some people who talk a lot for how the game is made... if you talk s**t in this game I should not have to point out that you must have incredible self esteem issues. Disregarding that little tidbit which you find in any online game ever, it's a jolly good time.

What's to come?

For the sake of how much I love myself and how much I enjoy typing. I decided to extend this post. Here's a list of things to come in the game at some point in the future.

-An apparent crafting system
-Guilds
-More items
-Female characters
-Possible change to UI (OGPlanets was black and really neatly done)
-Expansion of characters
-Factions (whatever this means)
-Possibly more...

Pretty happy to see a free to play game doing so well to be honest. I read somewhere someone said they were going to make Free to Play is the new Pay to Play. I think paying for cosmetics and all of that stuff is the way to go. Developers get their funding... you get to enjoy your time regardless. More players that get into it, the more people buy the outfits and trinkets and what not. P2P eliminates a large fan base capable of supporting it depending upon its subscribers for money.

Any Questions you have about this game will be answered. It's been about eight days since official release, and I have been playing it since.

And now ladies and gentleman. I bring you Lost Saga screenshots of quests that have terrible engrish and other hilarious bugs. I also bring you everyone's favorite: People on Lost Saga being as much of an a*****e as they possibly can! I'll post those at a later date.
