A good distance behind his brother Silron walked the Whisperer Saagar’Tarang whose usually friendly expression and easy smile had changed into a stern and closed look that pushed away any potential questioners.
His eyes searched the crowd, all his brothers and sisters – not by blood but as good as – before they returned to the shape of his uncle who was being led by Silron. He looked pained, almost like a lost child when he saw Eywa and he pushed forward with narrowed eyes as he heard Kerusey’s words, comforted by the fact that one of his daughters was by his side. He’d never been particularly close to Kerusey but they were family, Sata had always seen the older lion as a friendly and charming character and this unexplainable betrayal hurt him deeply.
In the crowd he also spotted his son Mokri whose coat, while similar to his mother’s, carried his Uncle Kerusey’s purple color. To the pale purple lion only, Sata’s expression finally changed into a small inviting smile.

-----------------

Hewne followed her father’s steps, walking by his side but just a little behind him. She could tell something serious was going on and her father wasn't telling her anything. It seemed something was wrong with a family member and judging by the way her father and uncle were looking at Kerusey, her granduncle had probably had played a part in it.
The young adult was happy to see her brother Mokri in the crowd. She didn’t really know how to talk to her father right now, someone who was usually so cheerful and open but now looked almost menacing. It was a little scary, actually, so she was immensily relieved when Sata sent a little smile in Mokri’s way.

Silron chose to not hear his Uncles words but he buried them deep inside himself. Whelp? He wrinkled his nose in a snarl when that word was used and he gave his uncle a shove with his shoulder. "Keep Walking!" He ordered, his eyes narrowed and his chest heaved. Even despite it all, Kerusey was still angry and spiteful.

As they neared Pietr and Ney'ite; Silron pointed a paw to a platform in front of them. It was a woven mat, with intricate designs and lovely patterns and upon closer inspection; it was identified as a sleeping hammock.

Kerusey's hammock

Already, they were in the works to make Satomi a new one; as now she would be a lone female.

Eywa kept her eyes close on the dark male; as his attention turned to the rogue blooded future leader and she had to deepen her breaths to calm herself. So far, she was keeping it together fairly well. Though she wished their was more she could technically do. Curses existed but her's revolved being a mother. She sighed, as Silron and Kerusey seemed to have a small discussion of high emotion but chose to also ignore it.

She also motioned to the sleeping hammock of the male. These were considered one of the most intimate and person objects anyone in the pride could have. Adolescents overjoyed at the time when they were made their very own sleeping hammocks and sleeping with parents was no longer apart of their sleeping ritual.

Eywa knew what would follow after this

Kaneon had gathered like the rest, but Satomi's unhappiness previously had given him a vague insight into events that were not widely known. Granted, he certainly didn't suspect the truth of the matter. However, the general unease and tension had made the gentle, soft-spoken male very on edge. He had chosen a seat in the middle of the crowd, carefully not looking to see if Satomi had arrived, or where she might have chosen to sit. It wasn't proper, after all.

The first figure in those approaching that caught his attention was Eywa. Rather than reassure him, seeing her here only made him feel more uneasy. Something was very wrong, and though silence fell, he could sense others around him shifting anxiously. But all that was forgotten as he realized who was being escorted into their midst.

Kerusey.

Kaneon had taken great pains to avoid that lion, so that he could keep his feelings to himself. So that he wouldn't reveal that Satomi had spoken to him about her heartbreak. But here, in this charged atmosphere, with the dark male's snarling, hateful face being marched towards them all, the ex-rogue could not keep his feelings from showing. The fur along his spine rose in sudden fury, and every hair of his mane stood on end. He was nearly unaware that his ears had pinned and a soft snarl had escaped him, except that others were moving out of his way as he stalked to the front of the crowd.

Whatever that villain had done, he would pay! This entire sentiment bristled through him for half a dozen heartbeats before he froze, eyes going wide. Oh please, please don't let him have harmed Satomi! All the fluff went out of his fur, and the exposed skin around his eyes, nose, and lips went deathly pale. He clearly was being brought before them for justice. Oh, what had he done?!

A face of gentle friendly welcome and love was somber and troubled.

She took the actions of her mate clearly upon herself, she hadnt done enough to heal his pained soul. She walked not to far behind the group leading him, her eyes down cast as her body simply showed signs of dismay and a total loss of thought.

Kerusey had finally done what she had always feared. But she had kept silent, hoping, praying that she could fix this black hearted lions wounds, to heal him and show him the happiness of the pride once more.

But it was more than she could do.

She saw his hammock, it was something they had shared. It didnt flood her with happy memories, moreso of cold nights and bristled rage, she didnt look at it, she didnt look at him, instead she made her way towards the side of the gathering, almost isolated from the group as she could be without leaving completely.

She had no words, no explanation of how she failed. She simply felt as if she had not only failed the lion she had taken as a mate, but her king, her dearest friend.

She hung her head.

Ysander stood close to her goddess, her expression masked completely as she feared for her fathers life, but if you glanced at the lioness her expression was cool and composed.

Some whispered of ice in her veins but those who actually knew the young royal knew that there was something much more loving and passionate within her. But today, she was completely guarded, she nosed her goddesses shoulder gently before she glanced out over the land, her home had been attacked from within, that was something that was simply not acceptable!

Her ears flicked back slightly as her thoughts turned slightly darker and she instantly regretted them, it was not in her teachings to be violent, but to accept and try and help as best she could...but today, she simply feared.

His ears pricked as he watched. What was going on...? Something had certainly happened, and Kerusey was involved. Txumpay could only frown as he leaned closer to his brother. "Well, SOMETHING happened... And from the looks of it... The king's brother was involved.."

His attention turned to Eywa, watching her as she moved. Slowly, his eyes moved before they landed on Kaneon, one of the pride's Crafters. He couldn't take it any longer and looked to Saagar and Silron. "What's happened? Everyone's sure it's to do with the queen, but please... Tell us what's happened!" He didn't care at the moment what solemn silence he was breaking, he wanted... No, he NEEDED to know. Everyone did. "Is the queen alright, her cubs? The king?"

Relief flooded through Kaneon as Satomi came into sight. He took two steps towards here before he could stop himself. His place was not yet beside her. Perhaps someday, if he earned it, but not yet. He also noticed she was not looking for him. His heart twisted with anxious agony. What if... what if he was wrong? Much muted and wilted now, the complete opposite from the face he's first met the accused with, he sat down and bowed his head, as if a great weight were on his shoulders. Her despairing expression, combined with his own concern and doubt, combined to bring him to a very low point. Such drastic swings of emotion were not usually his way, so that he felt exhausted before he even knew what had gone wrong. He did not even swing his head as someone spoke up, asking the questions they all were frantic to know the answers to.

Mokri was stunned by the procession that appeared. Eywa, as well as members of his own family. He stared at Kerusey without comprehension, his own face sobering as his eyes fell on his sister and father. The tension level had tripled, and even his father's tense smile was hardly enough to reassure the young purple male. What was going on? Mouth shut, eyes wide, and mind open, he sat still as a stone, ready to memorize the words spoken, the expressions on muzzles, the tones of voices, and the actions that spoke so much louder than words. All hope of a joyous occasion died as he prepared himself for recording what must be history.

((ATTENTION: Ok this hasn't been announced officially but several days ago Yin gave Ney'ite to me to rp so from here on I'll be rping her. I just wanted to put this info into my post so no one freaked out and I'm sure Yin will have no problem confirming this for anyone who would like to know.))

Once Kerusey was escorted out and up to the front of the crowd Ney'ite took a deep breath and straightened her stance a slight bit. It was time to let the news be known to the pride. Almost no one knew and it was now her job to fill them in on everything. For a few moments she gazed at her uncle who stood before her and her mate with blank expression with only her eyes showing a slight sadness for knowing what he had done.

When she turned her gaze to the pride that sadness was gone and she was ready to speak. "So most of the pride has not yet been informed of why we have gathered here. I will be explaining it all now but first I would like to clear it up that the queen is ok and she has birthed seven cubs who are all in good health." Ney'ite paused for a few moments to let the good news sink in before she moved on to the bad.

"However... The king has been injured in an attack from within our own pride." She stated and turned her gaze on Kerusey. "Earlier Kerusey was caught in the middle of attacking Eytucan and thwarted from killing him."

After Ney'ite stated his crime she paused with her gaze still on Kerusey before she spoke directly to him. "Kerusey, do you have anything to say at this moment?"

Tinbit was enjoying quiet a delicious dinner. He had been hopping about for quite some time, looking for special to enjoy, when he saw the most perfect selection of wild grasses yet that day. As he sat enjoying them, chewing slowly, his ears twitched involuntarily. There was quite a bit of movement happening all of the sudden. He stopped chewing to listen most closely. It sounded like the pride was on the move. What could they be up to?

Chewing down a few more gulps of grass and grabbing an extra pawful for snack-on-the-go, the little hair bounced toward the source of the sounds. Shoving the last bit of grassy snack in his mouth, he licked with greedy little paws clean, and wiggled himself under a bush. Pushing the leaves out of the way with his ears, he tried to see what was going on from the safety of the undergrowth.

Clermeillie-Pie had been late to the gathering as she had been out hunting not long before it and had refused to come without washing the blood out of her blue fur. It was just a matter of pride that she did not want to appear at what was obviously an important meeting without being clean. Maybe it should not have bothered her so much to think on it, but it was her husband's family that ruled the pride. From what she had heard so far, his family was in trouble right now, but rumor did not give definite details on whom or what. The pale lioness could just be glad it was not her mate or her cubs that were involved, as she would have been the first to know such things.

Clerm slipped quietly into the somber meeting place and took her place next to her mate. She spared a look at each of her children, giving a soft smile as they were her pride and joy. Her four by her mate and her two others from before. She did not see the older two right away, but it was their way to lurk in the back at such gatherings. She could not really blame them as she preferred that as well, but she felt she should be beside Sata no matter where he was in the crowd. It was just... where she wanted to be.

~~~~~~~~~~~~
Pikelis settled onto her lioness's back as Clerm walked into the meeting. The bird would have very little to do with anything that was going on, of that she was certain, but she was there to support her lioness and make sure a certain bird she knew stayed out of trouble. The bright bird knew her mate would likely open his big beak and get into trouble if she wasn't there to distract him. Her work was never done when it came to keeping peace with him, but eh, she liked the job.
Coel had also been a bit late to the gathering, mostly because he had had his nose in his work. The lion had been lost in his crafting and completely oblivious to any rumors about what was happening in the pride. He just did not have time to talk to most of the pride, so he would not have known what rumors were going around. His work was too important to get distracted by other things. He had been a little disappointed when his brother chased him out of his workspace and to the meeting.
The blue lion figured this must be very important if everyone was being asked to gather and his brother chased him away from his work for it. He did wonder a bit about what it might be about, but at the same time his mind was still on his current project. Coel was still mentally mapping out the bead strands and feather mane decorations he wanted to make for certain members of the pride. His mind rarely stayed off his work for long, which distracted him from everything going on around him.
Sylwanin was one of the first into the meeting area, but she kept off to the side, waiting. She had not heard anything from either of her brothers in far too long. That was not at all normal. Kerusy usually had something to say to her about how their brother was not doing a good job letting all these rogue blooded new members in, and Eytucan made time to speak with her even with the pride he had to run. She knew he was quite happy to have her back home, and loved the time he made to talk to her.
Sylwanin was all the more worried about not hearing from Eytucan because of how much she enjoyed speaking to him. She watched all the others come in, noticed all the nervousness of the members of the pride and the clueless looks even of her other family members, except Silron. He seemed to know what was going on as he arrived with Kerusey and others. He heart sank when she saw her dark coated brother with his purple markings escorted in. What had he done? He had to have done something. The news of Kerusey attacking Eytucan and trying to kill him made Sylwanin feel very cold inside. How could he?
That he would betray their family and their pride like this, no matter his opinions of their brother's rule, it was unthinkable. She sighed and the dark female stepped forward and went past her damned brother. "Kerusey, how could you? I thought you were better than this, apparently I thought too highly of you." It might have been a little spiteful to say, but she had said it. She moved on and took up a position beside Kerusey's mate, giving the female a nuzzle of comfort. "I am sorry for my brother." She would apologize to Eytucan's mate about their brother later. For now, she thought it best to make Kerusey's mate realize it was not her fault.
A light brown Wahlberg's Eagle was simply passing on through. Just looking for some prey as he traveled on by, just trying to live his life just like everyone else did. But the more and more he traveled into this landscape with trees and vines, the less little prey he seemed to find. There seemed to be a large trafficking of large predators in the area; he could see in the claw marks of them in the barks of the trees he landed in to rest. Even still, it seemed that he had yet to come face to face with any of these lions, even with their supposed large numbers until...
His keen eyes spotted some sort of traffic up ahead. What was this that they were all up to? Some were already arranged in a group, while a few stragglers seemed to still be approaching from all sides, in the trees, mostly. Whatever they were up to, it was a pride thing, something he had little to no knowledge of. The large, colorful creatures continued to approach each other and gossip about whatever, something he wasn't paying much attention to. Lions had nothing to do with his life, so instead he returned to doing what he needed to do; scan the forest floor for any signs of little lives.
"Oh, what's this over here?" the gnat mused, buzzing over to a large crowd of lions. Being so itty-bitty and rather just a mere annoyance to a lion or few, the gnat had little trouble sneaking along to see what was happening. Oh, he knew of some of the events; so-and-so queen had a litter. He supposed that was grand news but, being a wee little bug, didn't find it all to relevant to him.
Fluttering over to a nearby rock, he perked, peering out his bug eyes at the large felines. He was quite content on just sitting there all day; however, a mere five seconds later, a particular delicacy to his species caught his eye. With his very short attention span never failing, the gnat soon dismissed the gathering, heading over to a rather fresh pile of... well, to each his own.
Satomi looked over to Sylwanin and with a faint nod of her head she let out a sigh. "Tis no more your burden to take upon your shoulders than it is mine. We both could not heal his dark, hate filled heart. We tried and that is all that we can do is try our bests." The high priestess nodded her head slowly, very sage light as she looked sadly over the lion she had called her mate, it was true it had not been a pairing out of love, but still it hurt.
For a moment her gaze fell onto Kaneon, the gentle crafter who had held all her secrets for so long, she wished for his strength now, but did not want to seem like some unfaithful tart so her eyes cast down once again.
Satomi may not have loved her mate, but she had always been faithful.
Sata fought a small but persistent urge to simply look down and ignore the world around him but he had never been one to cut himself off from others when troubled – though, truth be told, Sata had rarely ever been troubled. The appearance of his mate brought him great comfort and the blue lion sighed away some of his tension and smothered that part of himself that sought silence and isolation as he leaned to nudge Clerm gently. His expression remained grave but there was also determination and acceptance in his clear blue gaze. He even spared the creatures that had gathered around the lion group a few glances filled with interest and restraint but this was definitely not the time to indulge his curiosity even if he was a Whisperer.
------
Hewne returned her mother’s smile with a relieved one of her own but she looked shocked when her greatuncle’s crime was unveiled. Uncle Kerusey had tried to kill her grandfather? That was… unbelievable. Impossible. It couldn’t be true. It made no sense. What could he possibly gain from such actions? How injured was Eytucan? Her father would surely have told her if his life was in danger… right?
Feeling somewhat uncomfortable so close to the lion whose darkness obviously extended beyond the color of his coat and even more uncomfortable by Sylwanin'words, the young lioness gave her parents a reassuring nod and moved away from them before Kerusey had a change to give a reply. Hewne sought her brother Mokri, sitting quietly by his side and leaning against his purple coat. This was what family was supposed to be like… not that.
This is a filler post for excited. She is having a hard time in Real life right now and to speed things along so we can get this roleplay finished; I am going to post this here and it will basicly be Keruseys reaction to work on.
Quote:
probably safe to assume he's just angry-glaring while they hand down the verdict, and I'll put in something suitably ranting in after that
In other words. Kerusey isn't saying much. I am going to assume he makes it too the front where he will be held accountable.
Pietr turned his attention to his mate. She stood before her people; strong and elegant and showing that the worry that ate at his soul; was one that could be forgotten now. She was their queen and she would be the best she could. He had been worried she would not fall into her role; without great upset and sadness. He nodded as her words escaped and everyones attention turned to the culprit.
"Kerusey. You are being charged with an attempt at your brother. Blood is thick and love is thicker. You are now being stripped of both." He took a step down off the mound of ground in which the king and queen stood upon. "At this time; Eytucan is not responding..." He glanced around at the crowd and then to Keursey.
"This sleeping hammock is interweaved to represent our pride as a whole..." He bent his head and picked up something that had been beside his feet; something that no one had noticed in the hubub. He set down the horn in which a coal had been set inside the hollow and kept alive by feeding it dry moss. With one quick motion; he dropped it onto the matt before him.
The coal caught quickly and soon a flame began to consume the bed.
"You are hereby exiled from the Iknimaya." He stated; taking his place back beside Neyite.
Jubes couldn't believe the words. Even on her hind legs, she couldn't see much other than the backs of heads and the tops of those in the procession towards the platform. Her ears were straining to hear the words being spoke; and before she knew it; she was holding her breath in fury. Kerusey attacked Eytucan. Even back in the older generation the the navi; fighting was the usual way to introduce new royalty. The victor would become leader. The strongest would lead them. They had stopped doing that; as death was no longer welcome here. It was now considered a great crime to injure a fellow lion; unless it was an enemy or stranger that was dangerous.
The fact that Eytucan was not here; signaled to her that he was probably not gonna make it. She shook her head; she had to keep hope. He had to live. He was practically her father figure; since she did not have much memory of her own. When her daughter joined her side; she grabbed her and pulled her closely and buried her head into her shoulder.
The smell of fire startled her; but she quickly realized that the burning of one's hammock was a signal to everyone; that Kerusey would not be welcome here again.
Andranis
Awapo gave his brother a light shove. "I am sure they will tell us..." He said, his eyes half lidded in annoyance. Everyone was shouting and getting upset and it was hurting his ears. He leaned side to side, trying to see more clearly as they made their way to the front and began to explain what had happened.
Awapo had no voice to speak. He was simply dubstruck by all this. He looked to his brother; staring at him. "Kerusey... tried to kill Eytucan." He said simply; out of his overwhelmed feeling of remorse. "E-eytucan is hurt... poor Zelt'sin..."
Ftxoa embraced her mother and held her; looking just as wided eyed as everyone else. She was starting to feel panic'd and couldn't feel her feet anymore. Things were frightening at this moment. The fire. She smell of it. The color it gave off. To have one's hammock burned was a great punishment. It was where families grew and love blossomed. She felt her deepest sorrows go out to Satomi.
For this was Satomi's mate that done such a bad deed. There was no way she was involved; by the expression on her face and by the relationship that the whole pride knew; was not one of love. But Satomi had loved him... though it was difficult. Ftxoa put a paw on her mothers head and held her quietly.
Silron stared at his Uncle intently and with eyes so cold that a few other lions saw them and looked away. He had so much rage building up inside of him; his claws were extended from his paws and ready to inflict if need be. "Exile is too kind in my eyes. He himself should be aflame." His voice was hollow and his stature was bold.
He would regret speaking like this later. But right now; his fury and his hatred for someone whom he had once held so highly. He inhaled the smoke and the heat of the fire; he felt his muscles tensing and releasing; trying to let off the buildup of anticipation. He would not resist attacking Kerusey.
Eywa simply stood beside the new king and queen. With her wings tucked against her sides and her heart heavy; she had to make the announcement that could not be given by the old king and queen. "Eytucan and Zelt'sin are leaving the throne as a result of this tragedy..."
She opened her wings in one quick swoop and bowed her head to Pietr and Neyite. "I give you your rulers."
