In the land of Gaia, many creatures roam the planet. They mostly live together in peace and harmony sharing all that Gaia has to offer. Yet the dragons, which soar high above, who are sometimes known as the guardians of Gaia are held highly. They watch over Gaia and keep the peace. For over ten thousand years Gaia has been at peace, without war, difficulties or famines. The world is what is believed as almost perfect...yet a story...once known as a fairytail is ready to return to Gaia and exact its revenge. Watching and waiting over centuries the Dark dragon Asurath awaits his time to rise again when everyone least expects it. With so many years of peace, there are no battlements, no defence walls, no production of weapons other than what is used for games. The world is more succeptible to his wrath than ever before. Using his powers of darkness he is able to turn friend against friend, and family against family, turning even creatures of purity and light into creatures of hate and darkness. Even other dragons, caught in the spread have changed into creatures of terror and darkness. As the dragons suddenly realize the issue that has so suddenly hidden itself they have no time to reflect on their mistake. They realize that even as guardians the answer is not only in themselves, but in the remaining citizens of Gaia. As Asurath takes over the world bit by bit facing little oposition to his ever growing army, he may have no idea just who will rise up agianst him.

Regions: Region of Darkness: This is Asurath's region, taken over by darkness and the individuals that used to live within corrupted by that darkness. It is usually governed by dark rainy skies, visability limited as darkness clouds the area. Light can be found here but only in the form of the remnants of electrical lighting provided by the cities of those species complex enough to create them.Region of Light: The region governed by the guardian dragons in which the remaining noncorrupted citizens of Gaia live. Gaia here is yet to be touched by the darkness. Grey Zone: Region inbetween the two zones in which most of the battles take place as the RoL tries to negate the darkness. Many bodies are still littering this area from those who did not survive the bloody battles.

About the artifacts, and Killing Asurath.
Asurath has spread out artifacts embued with defence charms and parts of his own darkness across the Region of Darkness hidden and protected by charms. ALL OF THESE need to be destroyed before he can ever truly be defeated. Also a dragon of light needs to be present to truly destroy the darkness of Asurath. For when Asurath was first defeated before his first rise to power, no one realized that light was the only way to destroy him. So even while they believed they killed him, his darkness lived on and slowly regenerated til now. Right after he rose Eva's mother Serina was first to meet him. She used all her power and light to try and defeat him. But what she didn't know were that he had spread these artifacts and was able to resist her light. She died immediately after her attack as it drained her life.
Teams are created each with a guardian dragon that go out and search and destroy these artifacts. With a blessing from Eva they can go in and be resistant to corruption.
Right now they estimate that only roughly 20 artifacts remain out of the hundreds. Asurath now is using even bigger tricks, and traps to keep them from getting destroyed.
