I know meditation and consentration are a huge part of wicca but I can't seem to forcus!
Everytime I try to clear my mind or focus one one thing a whole bunch of things in my like jump at me all at once!
It's like my subconcious dosn't want me to mediate.
Any sugestions? gonk

The more you concentrate on that the more things will jumble around in there. Just closing your eyes and trying to stop thinking will never work, meditation is not something you can force.
The skill is actually in taking the jumble of thoughts and putting them to rest. Meditation is not about clearing everything out of your head but having a very controlled state of conciousness, to be concious you do have to be aware or think about something. It may help you to focus on your breathing or a prayer of some sort to keep something moving around in your head but not an ambush of EVERYTHING from your day to day life. If everyday life decides to ambush you, don't think to much about it just put the thoughts to rest and they will pass, don't push them down because thoughts are notoriously rebellious! surprised
I find when I meditate my mind goes from a loud thinking voice to a very quiet one; I'm made small inside myself and vividly aware of myself and the world around me.

It takes quite a bit of practice to develope well, so keep at it.

What I like to do (since I have no skills in meditation) is whenever my mind seems overly cluttered, I close my eyes and try and picture something that is relaxing to me, like a mountain meadow in the spring/summertime or the mist gently rolling through the forest trees with sunlight filtering softly down. Whatever thoughts and other images roll through my head during that time I just let them roll through, giving each a moment before letting them go. If they return, then I'll do the same....my book called "Animal Speak" has a section that relates to meditation. If anyone's interested in knowing what that section says, I'll be more than happy to share.
There's also loads of books out there about meditation, but I'd just say do whatever comes naturally to you.

I used to have difficulites with meditation but once I got the hang of it, it came very easy to me. I can even put myself into a deep meditative state where hours can pass and it only feels like a few minutes. What I used to do was focus on an object, just as you do for astrial projection training. I usually use a candle flame or a stone. For some strang reason that seemed to work. Nowadays I don't have to but that may work at well if you're willing to try it.

hi, i'm new to this guild and i want to thank everyone for the help with meditation because i have trouble with it. i like to meditate when i'm laying in bed usually before i go to sleep, it's really the only time that i have time to meditate i tried it a few times and i think it worked but i ended up falling into a really deep sleep (i'm a deep sleeper anyways) and i don't even remeber falling asleep, i don't think i even had a dream . my dreams are usually weird and i usually know i'm dreaming and sometimes can control my dream only sometimes. because i used to practice lucid dreaming but i gave up on it. but when i tried meditating it was different it was a while ago so i don't remember all of the details, i guess i'll have to try it again.
