I forget if I've mentioned anythin' about my newest obsession, but I've been playin' and collectin' Magic the Gatherin' for about 3 months now. I have three binders and two boxes full of cards and I've been to two tournaments.
So yeah...any other Magic fans?

I remember getting a whole bunch of magic the gathering cards from someone, like over 1000s of them, and all we used them for were stands to put our printed out figurines for our games we used to play in stuff. We used like FF characters and video games/anime characters in stuff. biggrin

Aoi the Crossdresser I remember getting a whole bunch of magic the gathering cards from someone, like over 1000s of them, and all we used them for were stands to put our printed out figurines for our games we used to play in stuff. I am a huge Magic fan. My older brother started playing around Revised, and I used to watch him play aaaalllll the time.
I didn't start actually doing the whole tournament scene until the Lorwyn block, though. I was pretty competitive until Alara Reborn. Ravnica was an amazing block, so I'm seriously considering getting back into it, especially since Ravnica Reborn looks amaaaaazing. I've just got some stupid little Elf deck right now. It's hard to have a good deck if you haven't played standard in, like, two years.
Nicol Bolas is my favorite character, with Niv-Mizzet in second. (I must say, Dracogenius is the greatest word.) All the dragons are amazing, actually. Either Nicol Bolas, Planeswalker or Garruck Wildspeak is my favorite Planeswalker card. I'm an Izzet is the best guild, and Jund is the best shard of Alara. Shadowmoor has the best island and swamp art. My least favorite creature is Ornithopter and my favorite creature is Pestermite. I like Mishra more than Urza, and Teferi more than either of them. I call Chandra Nalaar "Cici" and my personal headcanon about Elspeth is... terrifying. My favorite color to play as is green. I miss Wrath of God. Bury all creatures!
I memorized my DCI number before my SSN. (DCI was what Planeswalker points used to be called. Not to be confused with Drum Corp International)I've been working on a Bolas-centric fanficiton for months now, but most of that has been writer's block. I really need to read the books. I dream of one day being a judge, but I never have found the time to read through all of the comprehensive rules.
tl;dr talking about Magic is one of the only surefire ways to make me post

I laughed in his face...(my crush was number 31...on the football team. He was the quarterback...)
I laugh out of shock mostly...I was the first person he told ;D
I was also the last by the way I reacted... x.x;
I never got into Magic...I tried to....I'm sure you can guess why...
I was still into getting Pokemon cards for awhile...I think I stop after freshman year... emotion_eyebrow maybe...

I was thinkin' Izzet, and that's the one I picked at the pre-release, but I'm still not sure. My Bolas deck was Jund Ramp, splash blue. I had 3 Bolases, 4 Garruck Wildspeaks, and 2 Violent Ultimatums. I'd've put a fourth Bolas in, except that, honestly, I had way to high of a mana curve already. Sad face. Turn 4: Nicol Bolas (who gets destroyed). Turn 5: Nicol Bolas (who gets destroyed. opponent figures there's no more Bolas now) Turn 6: Violent Ultimatum (you can't destroy Bolas if you don't have land!) Turn 7: Nicol Bo-- enemy surrenders. ^.^ Legendary creature Nicol Bolas is my Elder Dragon Highlander commander, of course. All the guilds are looking pretty good so far. But I can't betray Niv-Mizzet by switching to a different guild.

I play regularly with my boyfriend and wellwisher. I admit I'm not really very good, i'm a very casual player. not like them, I also don't really spend any money on it, I don't have the time to buy and build decks. Mostly they build decks and I play with them. I understand how to play, but building is a bit beyond me.
Mostly it's wellwisher that plays though, it's just a nice thing that we do some saturday afternoons with coffee and a movie. She's quite smart at deck building and the storyline of magic.
I like green and white mostly, my boyfriend is a red, white, and artifact kind of person. and I've yet to figure wellwisher out, she just seems to play, everything.
She's my source of cards and information.
