At the edge of the village you can hear the pounding of a hammer on metal. Drawing closer to the clamor, you see a small building with a forge and Jaron, the local blacksmith, pounding a white hot metal on an anvil. He works from a shop on the side of his home, made from wood and earth, and roofed by the red clay tiles that adorn most buildings. He's up from morning to night, working and providing for his wife and child. He sells a variety of weapons and gear to shinobi and anyone passing through and has done so for most of his life, though his prices are strict as he already works hard enough to keep food on his table. You won't find him hard to get along with and is always ready to help the young'uns wanting to learn the trade.

♪ Bo {Staff}
A Bo is normally around 2m long or at the very least 6 inches longer than the person height for purposes of attacking and maneuverability. Bo users typically spin the weapon around to distract the enemy while looking for an opening and then strike using the momentum from the spinning movements.
Damage: 1 - 8 + 1.5x str. mod.
Range: Melee + 5 ft. forward.
Special: Can be used as a defensive weapon, spinning the Bo in front of you gives you +4 in dodge bonus at the cost of your first Dice Roll in your next turn. +4 to trip and blocking checks.

♪ Jitte
The jitte is a small weapon about 30 - 45cm long with a small prong sticking out from about 5cm from the handle, comparable to a police baton. It is mostly unsharpened with only a sharp pointy tip, thus it was barely ever used as an attacking weapon. Instead, its main use was to disarm the opponent by blocking with the main shaft and then catching the blade with the prong. It can also be used to break bones by catching the enemy's arm in the jitte's prong and twisting it with ease.
Damage: 1 - 4 + str. mod.

Special: +6 to disarm and grapple checks, +2 to blocking checks.

♪ Kama {Hand Scythe}
The kama, or Japanese hand scythe, was a weapon favored by all ninjas, a ninja on a mission could disguise himself as a farmer, work all day as one and then kill during the night with the kama he used to cut the grass on the farm. The movements of the scythe in kamajutsu are vastly different from conventional weapons and are difficult to predict for those inexperienced in the usage of the kama.
Damage: 1 - 8 + str. mod.

Special: +2 to attack roll unless against an opponent with 5 or more ranks in Ninja Weapons (Kama). Causes a Bleeding Wound upon a critical hit.

♪ Katana
The katana is the most artistic and well-crafted sword in the world. The curve of the katana's blade allows the user to draw the sword at a faster speed than any other sword created by man. The sword itself is both hard and light and can cut through almost anything with ease.

♪ Kunai
The kunai is the most famous weapon in the Naruto series and a favored weapon by all ninjas. The Kunai although not designed to be a throwing weapon can be thrown to a distance of 50 ft. The kunai is a piercing weapon that can be used to stab but not to cut.
Damage: 1 - 4 + str. mod. in melee combat. 1 - 4 + dex. mod. in ranged combat.
Range: Melee or Ranged 50 ft.
Special: Causes a Bleeding Wound upon a critical hit.

♪ Kusarigama
The kusarigama is the union of a normal kama with a chain on the end of the kama handle. The kusarigama is one of the hardest weapons to master and one of the most useful ones. The kama can be used to attack in close quarters while the chain, which most of the time has a small metal sphere-like tip, can be used for ranged attack, trips, immobilisation and disarming as well as creating vast numbers of opening for the user to kill with the kama's sharp edge.

A special speaker which amplifies sound waves and also resonates it at a specific frequency. The sound released can then be controlled with chakra to a specific target

♪ Ninja to
The ninja to {also known as "shinobigatana"} was the sword of the ninja. It was not as well crafted as the Katana but was just as useful in combat. The ninja to is 6 inches shorter than the katana and possesses a straight blade instead of a curved one. It is the sword carried by ANBU squads.
Damage: 3 - 9 + str. mod.
Range: Melee.
Special: ANBU sword. Causes a Bleeding Wound upon a critical hit. +2 to blocking checks.

♫ Shuriken
The shuriken is a traditional Japanese concealed weapon that was used for throwing and sometimes stabbing. They are small, sharpened, hand-held blades made from a variety of everyday items, such as needles, nails, and knives, as well as coins, washers and other flat plates of metal. They were not designed to kill but rather to distract, harass, scare and deliver poison. This is the weapon that gave ninjas the reputation for being able to attack with "a wave of their hand". They were actually throwing shuriken, but as the shuriken cut through the skin and disappeared into the distance it was as if a cut had appeared by magic.

This will save space and not sacrifice a much needed piece of equipment which may be required later. The scroll allows the ninja to summon creatures, people and items to their aid. Holding his notebook in his hand and opening it up to a fresh clean page, Makoto took a small piece of charcoal and pulled out a sheet of paper. With that he started to draw his charcoal art piece, he had a creative imagination and his art pieces were going to reflect that very thought that was inside of his mind. The piece was looking good so far, it was an art piece of the surroundings he was in… in fact it looked quite well on his paper, but it was not a perfect drawing.

Placing the drawing to the side, makoto pulled out another fresh sheet of paper from his note book again and started drawing on his personal views and reflections of the area around him. He was giving the area a touch of his own flare, but with the same old modern feel to it as well. The perfection was in the details and even if he didn’t make perfect art pieces… they could still be sold to nearby merchants that wanted to make a living, he even shortened the original price to make them cheaper but still profitable.

Looking at the piece of coal for a moment, he turned it in his hand as he pulled out another sheet of paper and began to draw another visual drawing of his surroundings. This time he was making it in a gothic sort of way, with twisted branches and roots that were visible from the ground. It was a very interesting piece that he was making here, because the detail and the craftsmanship were acceptable at best… but he knew he could do better. Thankfully fortune smiled as he felt like making something interesting.

Placing another piece of paper aside in a good pile of others to soak in their own art pieces, makoto had a very creative look in his eyes as he started drawing the best charcoal drawing he had ever done before. It was sort of reality and fantasy put together in a mix that was artistic and realistic feeling, the sun was up but he replaced it with a cresent moon and started to shade around the art piece slightly. He was making the piece look more realistic then it was… my word, was he in for a shock at the results. Placing the piece next to him, makoto smiled as he looked at his master piece. Closing them up for now, makoto felt it was time to make a wooden sword.

Placing the notebook down beside him and pulling out his kunai from his pouch, makoto spun the kunai in his hands as he picked up a piece of chunk wood and got to work. Placing the kunai to the chunk of wood, makoto started to shave the wood piece carefully. He was making his way through it piece by piece to get what he wanted out of the bokken, after a moment of working it was done. Makoto sighed with relief as he examined the piece of bokken that he had crafted with his bare hands and a kunai, it was the best he could do with weapons and was proud of it so far.

Makoto smiled at the fine craftsmanship of the last wooden bokken and got straight to work on another bokken, picking up the piece that he thought was fitting for the next bokken… he set off to work on it. Placing the kunai to the chunk of wood again, makoto started to shave the wood piece slowly and carefully. He was making his way through it piece by piece to get what he wanted out of the bokken, after a moment of working it was done. Makoto sighed with another breath of relief as he examined the bokken that he had crafted with his bare hands and a kunai again, it was the best he could do so far.

Picking up another piece of wood again from the ground, makoto dropped the bokken right next to the other bokken that he had crafted beforehand. This time he was going to take it slow and easy like the last time, not making a single mistake with his work. Thankfully that was not the case on his part, but he did feel that sooner or later it was going to bite him back somewhat. Finishing with the blade of the bokken, makoto started to carve away and smoothen out the edges on the bokken again for the best performance it could get.

Back to another piece of wood makoto could not help but smile; his sell able bokkens were coming along just nicely. Picking up the piece of wood again and examining it for a moment, makoto smiled and nodded as he started to shave the wooden off the bokken that was soon to be one in the future. The results were coming and the same as they were before, the blades were nice and stream lined while the handle was still at work. Shaving off the last piece to complete the blade, makoto started to work on the bokken again with a smile with a large smile. After a few good minutes of working on the bokkens handle, the piece was completed to perfection.

Picking up another piece of wood again from the ground, makoto dropped the bokken right next to the other bokken that he had crafted beforehand. This time he was going to take it slow and easy like the last time, not making a single mistake with his work. Thankfully that was not the case on his part, but he did feel that the bite was going to come soon and he was near the completion he saw. Finishing with the blade of the bokken, makoto started to carve away and smoothen out the edges on the bokken again for the best performance it could get. But something felt odd to him, he needed to make a piece of art to confirm what he was feeling… the day was ending and his performance maybe poor.

Pulling back out the piece of charcoal and the piece of paper within the notebook, makoto started to make art in his art book before he realized that something was indeed wrong with him. His art had suffered because of his tiredness, and the art piece was really not what he was hoping for. But he could not help but smile and laugh at himself for making a bad blunder, the art piece was okay for now… but he was going to have to do better later. Finishing it up, makoto collected everything that he had made that day and went back into town. He was calling it a night.

Laying on the grass for a moment and relaxing in the morning sunlight near the forge, makoto sighed happily as he laid there, waited for the best moment to start working again on the art pieces he was going to make and the wooden weapons that would soon find a home. But of rest and relaxation came with the turf he was on and he was looking for the mojo to get started, but the mojo was there and he was relaxed and ready to start working as soon as possible. Jumping up from the ground, makoto looked around and got started on his new job.

Pulling out a kunai from his pouch and spinning it in his hands yet again, makoto got himself a piece of wood and set himself to work on the forge. Shaving away at the wood for a moment, makoto started to think about his income that he would get today from all his hard work. He was being paid to create weapons but he was also selling his art pieces for a good amount of money as well. But with being said, makoto finished up with the blade of the bokken and went to work with the handle of the bokken. It was a touchy bit to it but he successfully pulled it off.

Placing the kunai beside him and the bokken in the barrel, makoto took the piece of charcoal that he had left there from the day before and started working on the charcoal art. After a while of working on the art piece, the image was coming into view again like it did last time. He was copying the gothic art style that he had used in one of his past art pieces that got him a good few ryos, this one was of no exception. He was working on the piece as carefully and as caringly as he possibly could, but he was not going to sugar coats the facts that this was training… but he was getting paid in the process.

Looking at his art piece and sighing happily in satisfaction, makoto placed it aside as he picked up his kunai again before he grabbed another piece of wood. This piece was a lot longer than the others he could make two bokkens out of it, or one nodachi… he was going to give it a try anyway. Shaving the blade of the wooden nodachi for a moment, he was being really careful not to spoil it up at all. But in the end… they were careful and clever as the completion of the wooden nodachi was successful. Placing the kunai down and examining proved that he was ready, he had made his own.

Placing the nodachi in the barrel with the other bokken, makoto took what remained of the piece of coat and started to get to work on another art piece that was yet soon to be sold to the highest bidder. Well… not the highest bidder, but to the one who was willing to pay. Anyway the charcoal drawing was one of a wolf in the same environment. The trees and the plants everywhere had been untouched in his drawing, but the wolf was not so fortunate.

Taking a fresh piece of charcoal that was lying around the area and also pulling out a fresh new piece of paper, makoto started to draw again and he was going to see if he could do any better this time around. Sadly that didn’t seem to be the case this time around, however he did raise an eyebrow at the fact that his skills were improving… even if this paining was the problem of his worst attempts at making something good. His art piece was a poor one at best, but he could do better now than he did yesterday. He was going to get better and better.

Placing the piece down and pulling out another sheet of paper from his notebook, makoto smiled to himself as he did the same gothic style drawing that he had done last time with the wolf. But this time it was in a reversed effect, like mirroring the landscape to it’s perfect degree. Sadly the perfection part was not going to happen but he did complete the mirrored process as he expected, it took him a moment longer then he had originally done… but in the end the results spoke for themselves. The art pieces were completed… not for the weaponry.

This piece was a standard piece of wood that he could work with gladly, but he was starting to think of something that was bugging him. Shaking his head and grabbing the kunai next to him with a smile on his face, makoto got to work at shaving the wood away piece by piece. Makoto was starting to sweat after a few good minutes of working on the piece of wood, thinking that he was not really needing to do so… but the bokken was finished, it looked completely perfect.

Walking into the forge again Makoto smiled as he to her into his safety gear for the blade of his dreams, it was time… finally time to make a metal nodachi that would dwarf all others that were made. Starting the heating process up, makoto smiled as he tried to get it to the hottest that he could get it before crafting. Adding coal and iron together, he was going to make steel and started to melt the iron in the intense heat. After a moment of cooking the melted iron, the steel came into play, the metal substance was perfect… not it was time to pour and mold it.

Pouring the steel into a sealed nodachi blade cast slowly, makoto was being very careful at this point. The hot metal liquid was burn insanely hot and would wound you badly for a while, but makoto knew the risk and the rewards that followed this blades creation. After he was sure that the cast was pull and no drops were coming out, makoto too his hammer and started to beat on the cast to properly shape the nodachi before it was time to let it out and into cold water for it to cool down. Makoto flipped the case around and started beating on the other side to ensure perfection was the key.

After a good twenty minutes had passed, makoto then started to open the case slowly and saw that it was cooling down slightly but it had taken the perfect shape. Nodding to himself in satisfaction, makoto opened the case completely before he took a look at his piece. Remarkable was a great word for it, but he had to work. Grabbing on the clamps, he used the clamps to softly and carefully lift the nodachi’s blade from the case. Slowly makoto took it over to the Stone Tub and placed the nodachi’s blade softly in the water, letting it drop in as it cooled off and a lot of steam was released… it was time for the customized handle.

A good hour passed before makoto was ready to pull out the nodachi blade from the water, Makoto placed protective waterproof gloved on his hands as he finally reached into the water. Makoto pulled out what he could only call a masterpiece, the blade was long and as sharp as he had hoped. It also had a good center of gravity, the weight was not even off at all. Makoto smiled in success as he walked over to the table and placed the blade on the table, before reaching over to create the handle. It was an enlarged version of a katana’s handle and hilt; this was what he thing he had worked on for the hour.

Working on the handle and the blade of the katana for a moment, makoto replaced his gloves with a new proper pair of gloves for the task he had to do. Opening the handle for a moment and softly placing the three small prongs that were needed, he needed it to keep the nodachis blade inside without slipping out of its handle. With the prongs in, makoto placed the blades three holes into the three prongs perfectly. Sighing in relief of this very detailed and careful piece of work, makoto finally decided it was time to close the book on this nodachi placing a sealer inside the handle on both side before he closed it and pressed down as hard as he could. Placing the handle in a pressure clamp, Makoto closed the entire handle in and tightened it as much as he could.

One more hour past, it was finally time to do the finishing touches. Makoto released the pressure clamp and tried to open it as best as he could, makoto’s handle was sealed absolutely shut… this was perfect news for him. Wrapping the handle in leather, makoto sighed heavily as collapsed to the ground. His hands were the only things keeping him from the ground, but he pulled himself up and straightened himself out. Finishing the leather working on the handle of the nodachi, Makoto placed his hands on the finished product for the first time… he has put a lot of time into this piece of work… to him it was his best work ever, The Returner was its… The Master Work Steel Nodachi.

Walking out of the forge with dirt and sweat over his face, Makoto takes his glove and brushed off his hands before he took the protective eye wear off his face to look at alucard. Smiling he reached into his pocket, makoto pulled out a 100 ryo piece and walked over to his friend. Approaching his friend, makoto sighed in relief as he spoke to him with respect and kindness. “How did the training come Al?“ Spoke makoto as he handed over the 100 Ryo piece to Alucard for the wood that he had gathered. Since Alucard was here, he decided it would be best to talk to his friend.

Shaking his hand slightly he smiled 'Ain,' he said with a smile as he lifted the ax and handed it to Makoto as he put the 100 ryo away. "Tis elps me outs to." Alucard said as calmly as he could as it was obvious that his speech has still not been improved. As he sighed it showed on his face that he hated that he couldn't speak to well to people he was talking with and to. "Any ideals yets onsh missons?" Alucard asked as he looked at Makoto as he smiled softly as he seemed ready for a mission already.

Shaking his friends hand, collecting his ax and the wood for the new series of bokkens he we going to make. Placing the pieces of wood in his hands after clipping the ax to his pants, makoto motioned him to follow him to the forge. While carrying the wood to a storage barrel, makoto spoke to Alucard with some ideas. “Our mission is to protect the village form certain villains, recently there has been a few things going on… But In Mount Oto, there is a rumor that off the path, there is a single ruby ore that lays unclaimed. I need you to investigate this rumor, if you can… claim it. Because then we are going to use this ruby as bait for a much larger plan. “Spoke makoto as he placed the wood in the storage bait, just one more set and it would be ready for crafting. Looking back at Alucard, makoto placed the ax to the side and spoke. “ The Ruby Ore is also Rumored to be protected by A massive bear, for this reason… I’m coming with you with some gear here. The pelt will be sold for hundreds and proof that the bear is dead will take a good load off the miner on the mountain… you think you’re up to the mission friend, half profits as always. “

Alucard smirked as he smiled and nodded as he seemed ready to get going. Slowly turning around Alucard smiled as he knew that this would be fun. "When start?" he asked as he was ready to get a rocking and rolling. As it showed in his eyes he smiled a lot while looking back at Makoto as he was waiting for Makoto to come with him. He knew his way to the mountain but not to where he had to go. 'Well i hope this goes well. Bear meat sounds good.' he thought for a bit saying softly as he smiled softly while thinking how to cook it. Remaining silent he smiled softly.

Hearing Alucard saying when they were going to start on their mission, Makoto answered just as quickly. “ We start the mission tomorrow morning, Because we both need rest and I need to collect the proper tools for this kind of mission. Also I’ll pack a second bag for the second part of our mission. “ spoke Makoto as he opened the door to the forge and tossed a few of the gear he had on inside, He was hoping for something good out of this mission. Closing the door again, Makoto looked over to Alucard and nodded to him before he spoke again. “ It’s going to be a long mission tomorrow, we should call it early night for plenty of energy tomorrow. “

Nodding softly he smiled as he slowly left the area as he was glad that he was paid the money for the work. Smiling more he decided to head out of the area due to trying to figure out where to train. In his quick haste he was gone without a word of good by to Makoto, Alucard left as he knew that he would be called upon as soon as Makoto was ready. Without saying a word he waved back to Makoto before walking off into the distance back into town.

Walking slowly into the area Alucard smirked as he had his hand on the top katana. Smiling softly he looked to the shop as he was curious what Makoto was up to. Moving the tooth pick in his mouth around he kept smiling as he knew that things were looking up for himself so far. 'Wonder if there is more things for me to do for him,' he thought to himself as he walked to the door and knocked on the door.
