Well, my earbuds are falling apart.
Maybe I do need to just buy new ones anyhow.

Now that I have an android that can use Pandora/Songza, I was like I can listen to music now instead of counting mindless things while I run! surprised

Except I can't plug in my earbuds into my android. My brother just tells me that's balderdash, that Apple earbuds are just standard industry ones, but they're not plugging in...

They ought to be, I've never heard about anyone having that problem before. I've never used apple earbuds, but normal earphones work fine with my ipod.

I'm probably just plugging into the wrong outlet, I guess... I'm just at a complete loss. I'll just wait for my brother to come home sweatdrop

Well, you could be trying to plug it into a microphone jack. Do you see any other jacks on the phone?
Maybe it's a jack designed for one of those headsets, the sort gamers use with the headphone and mouthpiece? That makes sense for a phone, and that would have a different sort of jack.

Can you find a schematic for your make of phone online?

Is the jack too small?

A lot of phones use smaller headphone jacks, look up your phone model's jack size so you can know what kind of headphones to buy.

I've looked online, and according to the specs for the iPod Touch and the Optimus Slider, the headphone jacks are both supposed to be 3.5 mm.

Okay, so it turns out I wasn't jamming them in properly emotion_facepalm Sorry about that guys. Thanks though :'D

I had a similar problem once. I had these big, bulky headphones with a big bulky plug, and the actual connector would have fit if the plastic rim around the connector wasn't getting in the way.

It happens. rofl

The first time I plugged a pair of headphones into my iPad the fit was so tight I had to put all of my weight into the push..... It was a gamble worth taking! *shot*
