So I posed an idea in the MU chat room and decided to give it its own thread to brain storm ideas and see who all would be interested in my crazy idea.
Without worrying too much about how it all happened, lets just say a catastrophic anomaly ripped through ALL the comic book universes, ravaged the surface of each planet, killed off countless lives and some how created one new world that's a fusion of all those universes together with ruined cities, statues and artifacts from those worlds as ghostly reminders of what once was with the survivors of each world now living among one another on this wasteland of a planet, trying to recreate some kind of civilization, law and order and live there lives a new.
If you've ever seen Mad Max, Trigun, Desert Punk, the book of Eli or anything of that sort of nature, you'll have an idea of what to expect. Technology and automobiles have become something a rare commodity that only those doing well off can really afford to maintain... assuming they found one that works or found someone willing to fix it. There are bodies of fresh water that are still around but most are under water and only accessibly by wells or by greedy men/women who set-up a business around selling it to get themselves in charge of their particular city. And as for laws? Well the city 'mayor' makes them up and enforces them whoever he or she see's fit whether it's by sherif... military faction or the establishment of a bounty hunters guild. In short, s**t can get ugly real fast if you don't play ball.
Now as for the characters, there will be undoubtably a mix of super powered people, armour clad people and other variations. Be reasonable in who survived and how...
For example:
1. Maybe Tony Stark is till around but can't afford to done the Iron-man armour any more because he doesn't have enough power cores left to use it safely without risking dieing from the shrapnel going into his chest but because the big arc reactor is still functional, he's found a way to adapt it to re-power a city and thus has been appointed the leader because his genius is literally helping to keep the city functional.
2. Perhaps Harley Quinn survived but Joker didn't. She finds herself in a small little shack of a house, living on her own, trying to make ends meat by scavenging materials to sell for food. Desperate for money, she pushes a side her pride and goes to a burlesque house for work.
3. The Shredder from the teenage mutant ninja turtles has seized control of a city. His Foot Soldiers are the now the cities law enforcement and there are strict curfews that must be obeyed or you are taking for slavery in the mines.
4. Hellboy has gone the way of the lost warrior, travelling from city to city with no desire to settle as his home and friends are all gone. So he helps those in need in exchange for food to feed his pet cat and has become something of a legend as the 'desert demon' because that is where he roams most.
Now this being offered, you are not obligated to play your currently existing characters in other rpgs. You can if you wish, pick entirely new characters or have a mix of the both. With every comic book universe at your grasp... have some fun!
