I'm very picky with videogames.
I like no single Genre and rarely like more than 2 games per Genre.

RPG - Elder Scrolls
Strategy - StarCraft
Shooter - Perfect Dark and Halo

Just curious (and maybe looking for a few games to try out),
I'm wondering what the TES fans into.

1. What genres do you like?
2. What games do you like?
3. Of the games you like, are they comparable to TES? Or maybe even better?

1. I will give any type of game (But sports) a chance, and generally enjoy them.

2. Myst series, Halo, Age of Empires 2, the list goes on and on.

3. TES ranks, but Myst takes it for stand alone, game that I enjoy doing multiple times for no apparent reason, that really submerses me, and Halo 2 just for it's awesome fun Multiplayer. I love the LAN parties I throw, though whiners aren't allowed back.

1. I like all genres, except for [Guvinator voice: ON]girly-girly barby games[Guvinator voice: OFF]. That includes adventure games like the Myst series. Ah Myst. How the mighty have fallen.

2. Since I have favs for each type, I'll post my genre.
FPS: Call of Duty 2 (PC). I 0wnz Halo 1 and 2. But I do heart Halo 1 and 2. Star Wars BF 1 and 2 are pretty good to.
RPG: Neverwinter Nights, Morrowind (Duh-er), KOTOR series, and Fable. Soon to be added: Oblivion
RTS: None really. I have Age of Empires II, and that was pretty sweet, and I may buy Empire at War.
Action: Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory. The whole series is pretty darn cool.
Adventure: Myst URU: Complete Chronicles. If you haven't played this, go buy it now! $20 for the whole barsploofawitz (Yes, I made that word up.).
Yeah, that's about it I guess...

3. Yes. Yes they are. But you can't REALLY compare things of a different genre. But on the scale of awesomeness, the games that go up there are: Call of Duty 2, KOTOR series, Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory, and Myst URU: CC. I don't find them better then the TES series, but they are just as awesome. Then again, I wasn't around to play Arena or Daggerfall... Picked up Arena on the official site. Didn't like it.

Hmmm... I'm a little nostalgic in the games that I play, but I'll pick up reviews, and if a friend recommends it, I'll probably look its website up to find out what it's like. Personally, I like Real-time Strategy games. First-person shooters aren't really my field, but there are some(Halo, Doom 3) that I excell at. Overall, I don't play many series in their entirety, but just get the games that I like. I'll normally pick up the sequel to a game that I like, though sometimes the sequel sucks compared to the prequel(The Sims 2, Mechassault 2)

Real-time Strategy: Empire Earth II, Age of Empires III, Starcraft, Civilization 3, Civilization 4, Black and White 2, Final Fantasy Tactics(Nostalgia, remember?).

First-person Shooter- Halo, Halo 2, Doom three, The entire Unreal Series.

Roleplaying Games- Morrowind, Dungeon Siege 2, Fable: The Lost Chapters(which includes the first one), KOTOR, KOTOR 2, .//hack Infection(I never did get the sequel, even though this was an excellent game), Baldur's Gate, Baldur's Gate 2, Demon Stone, Star Ocean: Till the End of Time, God of War, Final Fantasy III(Six in Japan... I've never really liked having to explain that concept to people), Final Fantasy 10, Final Fantasy 11, Gauntlet Dark Legacy(There's that pesky nostagia again!), Enclave(and again).

Chapter-based Games(Personally, I put these in their own group)- Panzer Dragoon Orta(And again), most of the Turok Series(yes, even the old ones).

I'd like to play Age of Empires and Civilization,
and I may also check into Gradius.

Sadly, I wasn't impressed with KOTOR.
but I may give it a second chance.

Is Star Wars Battlefront any good?

I love the Myst series.
Have you two read the books?

Are the books any good? I thought of picking them up when I was at the local Border's since they didn't have Legacy of the Drow in stock.

Gradius? Never heard of it... Then again, I'd never heard of Spore, and it looks like it's going to be just as good as Oblivion. I'll check it.

The very first Myst and Riven games were not too inviting, and I never gave them a second glance.

Odds are Spore will be pretty good, since it's by the Sims dude. I played Myst 4 and 5 demos. I'm awaiting the compliation pack with all 5. mrgreen

The books are great!

I like the Book of Ti'ana most.

There's also the Books of D'ni and Atrus.

I saw the book of Atrus, but never made it to the library to borrow it, seeing that I'd have to go to Olean.
