And here she was again. Qlue had pushed and shoved her way to the front row of the class where she stood, arms crossed as she tried her best to emulate Invictus' death stare from the previous day. Either she was very foolish (likely), or she was asserting herself that she wasn't afraid. Most likely it stemmed from a matter of foolish pride, one that would one day cause her demise.

In the meantime, Qlue would say nothing of the small peach charm that hung off of her belt, looking rather girly and out of place in comparison to all the studs and metal she wore about her person.

As Invictus gave them the go-ahead, Qlue stepped forward and hurried to the first isle.

Quote:

1-10 - If your luck is 15 or higher, you move on unscathed. Otherwise, you lose 5HP. Ouch!

The first game was a cinch. Even Qlue could understand the point of matching the small, colorful tiles. She could even understand that she could only match those that weren't "locked" by others, and she could only pick those on the edge. She completed the solitare Mahjong swiftly and moved onto the next.

Quote:
71-80 - If your luck is 10 or lower, you gain +10 HP! If your luck is higher than that, you -5 HP. All move on. You may chose to sacrifice 5 luck to save your HP.

Qlue thought that the next game was rigged. Horribly, horribly rigged. Put your hand inside this hole, she was instructed, reach inside and pull something out. She wasn't expecting to grab hold of a snapping turtle. She also wasn't expecting to not be able to reach in a second time and tell it what she really thought of it before she was ushered on, yelling expletives and nursing a hurt finger and pride.

Quote:
61-70 - If your luck is 10 or higher, you move on unscathed. Less than that and you lose -5 HP.

At least the next game was easier. She liked the concept of cups, where someone hid a ball under one and attempted to fool the watchers into misdirection in trickery. Needless to say, she aced it. And walked off with a shiny small ball that she rolled around in her hands.

Quote:
71-80 - If your luck is 10 or lower, you gain +10 HP! If your luck is higher than that, you -5 HP. All move on. You may chose to sacrifice 5 luck to save your HP.

And then she ran into another snapping turtle. "Who thought it was a good idea to put these things here in the first place?!" Qlue snapped, nursing her aching foot. Besides, "jump from stepping stone to stepping stone and don't step on a snapping turtle" was one of the worst uses for luck that she ever thought of. It was too bad they wouldn't let her go back and take a turtle. It would've made a rockin' pet.

Quote:

91-99 - If your luck is above 30 +10 HP. Move on. All others must roll again. No HP Loss.

At the last trial, Qlue stared at the tiles before her. It was like the first station with the Mahjong tiles, except this time they were all face down. Qlue hovered her hand over the face-down tiles and began selecting her hand at random. After turning them over, Qlue gave a wide grin as she arranged her hand. "Mahjong!" She declared.

...How could someone as rough and uncultured as Qlue know how to play the original multiplayer game of Mahjong but not know how to behave?!

With the tasks complete, Qlue sauntered over to Invictus. "Done!" She declared, holding her head up and looking up at him hauntingly. "What else you've got? Was that it?!"

Gasping, Valentino finally emerged from the trial. Cut and brused as he was, he was still here and not with that nurse cricket. Survival was amazing, and Valentino, as scruffy as he was wasn't going to waste this, well not until tomorrow.

Lucien was surprised when he seen that not only were there no mats for them to sit on but Invictus himself wasn't sitting. It was a bit weird, watching him stand there so when he began to lead them toward some unknown location Lucien decided to run rather awkwardly ahead of him even though he had absolutely no idea where they were going. It left the boil to get quite a bit ahead, turn back and wait for not only the class but Invictus. He repeated this several times for the entire length of the trip until finally they arrived at the outdoor garden.

"Whoaaaaaaaa!" Lucien exclaimed quite happily with his arms stretched right out above his head.

Quote:
51-60 - If you have only 5 luck (or lower, somehow), IMMEDIATELY MOVE TO THE END OF THE ENTIRE COURSE (Skip the rest of the steps). All others take -5 damage.

What a beautiful place to place to play some games! Lucien was definitely eager about it as he made his way over to his first game. Perhaps he shouldn't have been quite so eager because he was certainly down on his luck when he decided to play the plinko game. He eagerly dropped the ball at the top and waited for it to go down but amazingly the ball got stuck and when he went to shake it to continue the game, he ended up cutting his hand on a sharp edge! He let out a bit of a yelp, mostly from the surprise, and then stepped away from the game this time as he watched it fall down, landing in a decent area on the grid. It was enough to move on, and Lucien did so, if perhaps a bit less eager than prior.

Quote:
41-50 - If you have 35 Luck or higher IMMEDIATELY MOVE TO THE END OF THE ENTIRE COURSE (Skip the rest of the steps). Otherwise, -5 HP and roll again. You may sacrifice 5 luck to save your HP.

You know, Lucien wasn't entirely sure what this game was but it seemed to involve trying to throw a ball into someone small sized holes. He didn't really like this idea, especially when instead of going in the hole the ball decided to bounce off the surface and come flying back at Lucien! Thankfully the boil was lucky, and instead of the ball shooting up and taking out his eye, he tripped over a rock and avoided it all together. Kind of felt weird though, kind of like he lost something. At least he didn't get hit! It was reassuring enough that Lucien was able to continue playing and finally get the ball in so he could move on.

Quote:
31-40 - If your luck is below 15, you have to roll again and -5 HP. You can choose to sacrifice 5 luck to save your HP.

This seemed much safer. There was a tiny table with three shells in a row, their shine attracting Lucien like a moth to a flame. His interest was piqued and with it the boil bobbed his head up and down and side to side as he watched the shells be slid around the table until they stopped. Then a beautiful pearl was brought to the table and with his attention caught, he was told that the pearl was going to be placed under one of the shells and then he must find it! Well, that seemed simple! Lucien decided that he would try this game and luck was certainly on his side, not only did none of the shells fly off the table and whack the poor boil but neither did the pearl.

It was quick, and Lucien was surprised when he pointed to one of the shells and the pearl had been under it, Whatdidyouknow! Lucien clapped, and then wandered away again.

Quote:
71-80 - If your luck is 10 or lower, you gain +10 HP! If your luck is higher than that, you -5 HP. All move on. You may chose to sacrifice 5 luck to save your HP.

This time he looked around for awhile until he had found a strange game that involved throwing two squares with dots on them, or what other people generally called dice. He was supposed to get double sixes and when he tossed up the dice and watched them land on the tray, that's exactly what they did. It didn't go exactly as it should had though. Instead, the dice hit the table and bounced, flying off of it and hitting Lucien right between the eyes! He fell back and the dice fell forward, both landing on sixes. Perhaps his luck had rubbed off on the dice? He didn't think about it too hard and moved on to better and brighter things before he started seeing brighter things floating around his head.

Quote:
71-80 - If your luck is 10 or lower, you gain +10 HP! If your luck is higher than that, you -5 HP. All move on. You may chose to sacrifice 5 luck to save your HP.

This game was a card matching game and although Lucien seemed to have been having some strange luck, this game went rather smoothly. It wasn't the easiest game, but it was certainly the most calming. It took him forever to match up the cards but nothing had flown off the table or hurt him and that was a win in his books. He was so glad to have picked the auspicious charm now, it really seemed to be helping!

Nuru was ready, he was so ready! He gave a bit of an exaggerated show of stretching before marching on through the obstacle course beginning, somehow moving through the first unscathed. He must be luckier than he thought!

Quote:
11-20 - If your luck is 35 or higher, you move on, but you lose 10 HP. If your luck is below 15, you have to sacrifice an additional 10 HP and roll again! (So 10 or less = -20 Extra Ouch!). You can choose to sacrifice 5 luck to save all your HP! All others move on unscathed.

He approached the second obstacle and after a pause to stretch all over again he charged through narrowly avoiding a sharpened blade or two.

Quote:
31-40 - If your luck is below 15, you have to roll again and -5 HP. You can choose to sacrifice 5 luck to save your HP.

Nuru was starting to get a little bit cocky so it was no huge surprise that he tried to strut through the next obstacle and got burned, quite literally. He whimpered pitifully as he put out the light flicker of flames that found their way to the edges of his jacket.

Quote:
51-60 - If you have only 5 luck (or lower, somehow), IMMEDIATELY MOVE TO THE END OF THE ENTIRE COURSE (Skip the rest of the steps). All others take -5 damage

He was a bit more hesitant on the next course, over thinking it enough he somehow got completely turned around and was back at the beginning when he reached the "end". Hmm.

Quote:
21-30 - If your luck is 25 or higher, you move on unscathed! Lower rolls again with no damage.

He tried again on that obstacle a bit more rejuvenated now and determined not to get lost. Miraculously he found the actual end this time completely unharmed. His confidence in his luck successfully renewed.

He'd finally done it. Oura had cleared the bridge. The boil gasped for breath, on his hands and knees on the grass... sweet, sweet, solid ground. He'd put his foot through quite a few empty holes, nearly fallen through a handful of times... and stepped on a rotten plank, which broke and scratched his ankle. But other than that, Oura had managed to stay high and dry. There would be no swimming in the lake for him today.

The Horsewoman stood above him, her arms crossed, eyebrows raised in amusement. "That took quite some time, young one. It looked like you weren't too lucky... but in the end, you made it across. You have now completed the Imperial heir's challenge."

And how exactly did it go from smelling incense.... to crossing trap-laden wooden bridges?! Ouranos raised his head wearily, looking up into the sky. At the very least, he had passed all the challenges. This was no doubt the most memorable class he had ever taken.

This game may have been the luckiest of all of the games because Lucien walked up to it, smiled and then nothing bad happened. He played the game, perhaps a bit slow on the uptake and rules but he managed to do it successfully. He had expected strange things to happen like it had previously but nothing had. In fact, everything ran quite nicely. Perhaps he was super lucky, or maybe finally nothing bad was happening that he had to be saved from. Either way, Lucien completed this game and moved on without a single scratch. That meant the end of the road for him though, and from there Lucien wasn't sure what to do. He looked around, back and forth and even up and down, until he finally decided to keep on playing some games until it was time to go. No point lingering around bored!

Now they'd find out what the charms were for. Returning to the Heir to Conquest's Charms and Incense class on their fourth day, Levi would find no mats. Their instructor, Invictus, stood before them in the same spot he'd been the previous classes. What shall we learn today? Levi felt like every day was a new adventure in this place. The ghoul was retaining as much as she could as best as she could. Her folks would be so proud to know she'd trained in studies from the horsemen clans themselves.

The task at hand would require them leaving the classroom? It perked Levi's curiousity. Following along with her peers after the horseman, she soon came to a garden with plantlife she'd never seen before. It had been neatly decorated in a manner that the rest of the island seemed to be.

This was going to be a class of them testing their incense and chosen charms! Aha! So they'd come here to test luck. This was certainly new ground for Levi. Recalling her ability to manifest a reaction in spells class, she hoped for the best. These were challenges, afterall. The tatzel would never give anything short of her all at a challenge offered to her.

Quote:
31-40 - If your luck is below 15, you have to roll again and -5 HP. You can choose to sacrifice 5 luck to save your HP.
*move on*

The first was something of a pachinko, Levi had played slots before... wasn't that much different. Okay! First round of the games seemed to go by just fine! She quickly moved on to the next.

*move on*

Same with the next game. It was a game of whats-under-the-cup. Guess the right object under the cups that ~magically~ changed around their positions and you passed! Levi did so and moved on once again.

Quote:
71-80 - If your luck is 10 or lower, you gain +10 HP! If your luck is higher than that, you -5 HP. All move on. You may chose to sacrifice 5 luck to save your HP.
(This x 3 ... )
-15 hp= 25

This upcoming game was something called Hungry Hungry Carp.

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.

This was a game that looked somewhat juvenile given the seriousness of the setting, but this only made the tatzel smile some. Fish; Levi liked them. Tiny marbles were to be gobbled up by the toy carps you control at the edges of a board. Eat all the marbles with the carp of their corresponding color and you've won! Easy enough, right? Well- apparently Levi would find it more difficult than it led on. While passing three rounds of the game, she would come across some manner of being injured by the board game. Revenge of the fish?

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.

It would seem so. In one of the rounds, a toy carp even got unlatched and actually flew at the tatzel's face. Baffled, Levi could only peer around with a confused stare after a moment of disbelief and continue on. Revenge of the fish indeed. At least she passed the challenges relatively easily aside from injury.

...Luck based challenges, huh? Xiu couldn't say that whether she was looking forward or dreading these challenges--after all, if it was luck that was going to guide her through, all she could do was wait and see what happened...right?

Right.

The first island...well, Xiu would later come to realize that her luck really wasn't all that good. She moved towards the first table, eying the set-up curiously. It didn't seem like anything special--all it was was a single slot machine, sitting silently on a table as it waited for someone to come by and give it a spin.

Well then, Xiu supposed that this was her first challenge. Invictus had said that they would have to pass five challenges in order to pass the assignment, so she supposed that all she had to do was pull the lever until she got three of a kind. Seemed easy enough...right?

Wrong.

The last thing she had expected was for a little trap door to open up on the machine and shoot needles out at her. With a yelp, Xiu lifted her hands over her face in an attempt to protect herself, cringing. Fortunately, the assault did not last long, but...seriously? Invictus really hadn't been kidding when he said that luck would save them from harm.

Unfortunately, Xiu wasn't having much luck at all with this slot machine. Her next spin proved to be just as bad, and she was forced to jump back as burst of fire suddenly shot out from the machine. She wasn't sure where exactly it came from--she was too distracted trying to put out the small flame that licked up her sleeve--but to say that she was displeased would have been an understatement.

It was with a great sense of wariness that she reached out to spin the blasted machine again. No one could fault Xiu for being so paranoid considering her last two spins, and her third one wasn't much better. The lever suddenly became electrified, the small shock traveling through the lever and right to the baku's hand. She let out a squeak of pain as she jerked her hand back, her hand twitching.

Jack, this was starting to get ridiculous! Puffing her cheeks out, Xiu stared the machine down, as if she could intimidate it into cooperating with her. At this rate, she wasn't going to make it through the islands at all! She was still glaring intensely at the slots machine when she reached out and pulled the lever down. This time, she jerked her hand back right away and readied herself to dodge and sudden projectiles.

...But this time, she didn't have to. When the three images that showed up on the machine matched up, she breathed a sigh of relief, but this was quickly followed by a grimace. That had not been a very good start, to say the least, but...ah well. Onto the next island.

Her second task didn't seem too bad. From the attendant's explanation, it was really just like a short game of the card game "War" (only the attendant insisted that the name of this particular version was really called Conquest, not War). A deck of cards was split in half, one half for Xiu, and one half for the attendant. The rules were simple--for each round, they would randomly select one card from their pile. The person with the card with the largest value won that round, and the game was best 3 out of 5.

So, simple enough. Considering her last luck-based game, Xiu was feeling a little paranoid that something would go wrong if she lost this game, but it was a needless worry. In the end, her luck had carried her through the game without any trouble at all.

Two challenges down, three to go!

The challenge on the third island was another somewhat easy game. Though it was considered a luck game, Xiu was certain that careful observation was all she needed. The attendant showed her three cups that were turned upside down, and lifted one of them to reveal a small rubber ball. The objective of this game, he told her, was to tell him which cup hid the ball after he had mixed them up.

When she was ready, Xiu gave him the cue to start, her brows shooting up beneath her bangs as she watched the cups and the attendant's hands turn into blurs with how fast he was moving. Her pink eyes darted left and right as she tried to follow the dizzyingly speed. Left, right, left, middle, middle, right...

When the attendant finally stopped shifting the cups and asked her for her decision, Xiu lifted a shaky hand to point at the right-most cup. "T-that one," Xiu stuttered out, clutching onto the table with her free hand as she tried to steady herself. Everything was spinninggggg~~

She hardly even processed the attendant's words when he lifted the cup, revealing that her guess had been correct. With a shaky nod, Xiu moved on, stumbling towards the next island.

By the time she reached the fourth table, she was mostly recovered. There was no one to greet her here, just a simply box with a small hole cut out of it, and a short instruction sheet. Apparently all that she was supposed to do here was pick a sheet out of the box. If she got a green sheet, she passed, and if she got a red one...then she could still move on, but not without a penalty.

...Whatever that penalty would be.

Unnerved by the threat, Xiu reached out timidly, her shoulders stiff as she rooted around in the box. Finally, with a deep breath, she grasped one of the small slips and pulled it out.

...Uh oh. Red.

She heard it before she saw it coming--the sound of a string being drawn back, followed by a twang. Ears pricking up, Xiu immediately dodged backwards, her eyes widening when an arrow narrowly missed her.

Phew, lucky!

Clutching a hand over her rapidly beating heart, the baku breathed out a sigh of relief. Somehow, she had managed to avoid that penalty--thank Jack--and now it was safe to move on. With one look at the arrow stuck in the ground--the arrow that could have been stuck in her--Xiu moved onto the final challenge.

This was...a board game? Xiu eyed the game skeptically, and then looked up at the attendant at the table, who held up a pair of die. The squares on the board game were arranged in a spiral, and the objective was simply to get to the middle-most square. The dice roll determined where the player landed.

And, of course, they couldn't just have a nice, normal game. There were a few squares scattered among the normal ones that read "Penalty" in big, bold red words. Xiu was not looking forward to what these penalties would be considering what the last one had been, but she didn't have a choice. She had to play (and hopefully win).

Her first few rolls had been decent enough, bringing her about the third of the way around the spiral, with the attendant's piece lagging behind hers. Unfortunately, her next roll proved to be quite unlucky, and it was with a worried squeak that Xiu realized that she had landed on the penalty square. At once, she was on the alert. Where would the penalty come from? Left? Right? Above?

No. Below.

Whether it was simply instinct or luck, Xiu dived to the side just as the ground where she had been standing exploded. It was not a very big explosion in the least, but had someone been standing directly over it, it would have definitely hurt like hell. The baku gaped at the ground disbelievingly for a few moments before she turned her wide-eyed stare to the attendant.

He simply looked at her with a pleasant smile and asked if she wanted to continue.

She was so close to finishing the last challenge that it seemed like a waste to stop now, dangerous penalties or not. Her gaze fixated on the small crater on the ground, and she was careful to step around it as she made her way back up to the table. The attendant rolled a blank square. Taking up the pair of die again, Xiu took a deep breath before giving them a little shake and then releasing them.

This went on for some time. Xiu was rolling really low--twos and threes, mostly--so her progress around the board was a slow one. However, despite this, she somehow managed to avoid all the penalty squares. She wasn't sure if this counted as lucky or unlucky, but in the end, she managed to successfully make it to the center of the board anyways.

Five challenges won. That was it. With a relieved sigh, the baku stepped away from the table. No more of that.

Prepared was a word in Mea's vocabulary which often meant the beginning of a glorious meal. It was not that she didn't know it in any other form but rather that it was something of a foreign concept to her as the Mouryou found herself generally just going with the flow when the time came to it. The array of challenges set in front of her only hardened that fact - she was not prepared for this.

But at least by the looks of things, neither was anyone else. Though even according to Invictus himself it was based in luck. Mea swallowed and clutched tightly to the cold metallic shape of the fish buttoned into her pocket. Hard work and monetary gain. She thought back to the lesson and looked hopeful, if just for a moment, and bounced to the nearest obstacle with wide eyes.

Staring down at the spread she was beside herself in confusion. All that was visible were many boxes with small holes inside of them. Each box was lacquered wood with golden corners. Mea blinked a few times and stared back at them. What was the point of such an obstacle. Biting at her lips she flicked her eyes over each box in wonder.

Simplistic was not the way of the Conquest Clan. Mea knew that and had all but given up hope that any such obstacles would be placed into an easy category. Instructions were no where to be found and the rabbit clicked her tongue in a restless fashion. Tapping her foot she looked over the shining boxes yet again. The holes were big enough to fit a hand in... A hand! That was it, for certain it was it.

Visibly reluctant, Mea tentatively reached a hand over an opening. What was the point of this game, to reach in and find a note telling her to continue? Or did dark things lurk in the boxes? The rabbit took a single glance back to their... instructor. No help there. She shrugged and placed a hand over a hole again, switching among the few nearby in hesitation of each. Luck had to be on her side - with the fish charm and the past few days of some success, surely nothing else could go that wrong?

She delved into a box...

Brushing past her hand Mea could feel the distinct movement of some small creature. Cringing to the point her ears stood upwards on end she pulled her hand free, hearing the distinct "chomp" sound - as she was accustomed to making the sound herself - of a fanged creature and her ears twitched to the writhing anguish and she coddled her hand. "Pffft!" She made the sound as she clenched her lips together into a raspberry.

"Well that was wrong." She said with an angry flick of her tail, glancing over the boxes again, this time with far more focus than before. If smaller creatures were in these boxes any number of other things could be stashed away such as traps or other sharp things aiming to take a piece out of her. She frowned - she was the only one around here who wanted to take out pieces of things.

A guttural growl sprang forward from her and she traced her hand against another box delicately. What was the secret, how would she pass? ...Were these markings? She blinked and flattened her head as close to the front as possible. Shapes maybe? The Mouryou blinked but smiled slightly - now that she had found the secret, maybe it would become all the easier.

But easy was not a way of the Clan of Conquest.

After studying the boxes over again she began to feel a sense of monotony while her gaze shifted to the slightly differing symbols placed on each box. Surely each symbol was to indicate what lay in the box, that was the obvious trick to it. Again tracing her fingers over them she began to see a sense of pattern among them.

The only problem was, such a pattern meant nothing when she couldn't remember where she had stuck her hand to begin with. Cursing herself under her breath she sat in silent reverie for a long while as her pink eyes traced over each line of boxes in an attempt to memorize whatever patterns lie in plain sight.

They were staring to look familiar - or was that a trick of the light? Perplexed, she followed a trail of boxes with similar symbols only to stop and begin to laugh. It started low, as a giggle then became louder and she shook her head a few times. How truly foolish had she been? The rabbit in her wondering had never assumed something else on the island would have to do with these challenges now and had gazed over the Genji-mon symbols without even realizing she had gazed upon a few before.

Whereas she felt slightly more comforted, she allowed her laughter to die as a sudden creepiness came over her. Watching the horseman reveal during training had only burned into her mind 2 of the 54. Each probably holding their own little secret. She muttered internally, moving her hand over one that looked familiar.

"Morning Glory." She said aloud with a grin, reaching her hand into it. What sort of tricks could that possibly have?

Blistering against her touch she felt a rippling, tingling sensation wash over her hand. Squealing she groped around quickly, pulling free a small bit of parchment she pulled it back to find a few leaves had become entwined into her hand. Shaking her hand free frantically, she looked at the leaves as they fell and felt her face pale under her gaze. They were a darkened green, but with stinging nettles and thorns on the underside, which had apparently come attached to her once she had placed her hand in.

Her hand.

Red, swollen, and itching, it was a mess to behold surely and she felt a stinging sensation begin to creep up from it, sending waves of pain down through her body. Jerking with each wave she let out a lessened wail and pried the bit of parchment open. "What kind of morning was that?! AHH!" She shouted, making a bit of indistinguishable sound along with it. Slowly the parchment unraveled and there was a louder groan of the rabbit as she opened it up so the entire island might see.

Mea nearly fainted knowing she still may yet have to place another hand in another box. The rabbit could scent them out, easily sometimes, but distinguishing one from the other and find the clue from that? She clenched her teeth. Now what She muttered, giving the parchment a poisonous glare. Scrawling near the bottom made her stop and inspect closer.

Through pain and learning you have completed this task. Let this serve as a new lesson.

Only energetic in the way that she would soon be moving along, Mea pocketed the parchment and while nursing her hand and slowly began the trek ahead to the next task. I wonder how else I'll get hurt today.

The next set up was overwhelming to begin with. Ornate bottles of all shapes, sizes and color were spread over several tables, each containing any sort of liquid, but none that were clear. "Don't tell me there's something in the bottles like in the boxes." Mea said aloud to herself, shuddering and gazing back down to her hand which had finally settled into being splotched red from the previous ordeal. It still hurt and itched, but the rabbit was determined to now allow it to become a liability if she was to continue on past these challenges.

As the first she took to had ended in parchment, so did this one begin and she moved to a center table with instructions scrawled out along the paper.

Incense takes many a fine ingredient, as does an elixir. Many elixirs are used for healing, some as placebo and many others for harm to others. In several of these bottles lay a golden marble which is your key to passing, but the liquid inside can make for any sort of reaction. In order to free your marble, you must drink the elixir in completion before it will release itself.

Think back to your incense making and attempt to distinguish the scents of certain ingredients. Happy hunting.

Snorting, the rabbit began to stare at the bottles and their murky liquid. Any which could be a poison that might leave her in pain, or worse! Mea shuddered and began to move among their shining faces in an attempt to find a pattern.

There was no such thing.

Each bottle had been especially crafted and uniquely so, none having commonality aside from a few sharing heights. Twitching by her unhappiness, her ears moved flat to the sides of her head while she forced herself forward through the different areas. Think back to your incense? Mea stopped over a table and blinked, then had an idea. Carefully she inhaled, taking in a whiff of the bottles. "Hm?" She titled her head, there was something familiar here.

Moving closer she began to sniff them individually. Bitter, sour, sweet - each had their own unique smell, but only a few reminded her of her incense. Her nose ruffled and she backed away from one, there was something off there. Darting back between two she shrugged, grabbing a hold of one which made her feel warm inside.

"Bottoms up!" She exclaimed before placing the bottle to her lips and chugging it down. There was a distinct sweet flavor to it.

71-80 - If your luck is 10 or lower, you gain +10 HP! If your luck is higher than that, you -5 HP. All move on. You may chose to sacrifice 5 luck to save your HP.

Mea finished it quickly, feeling more refreshed than she had all day. Subtly a small golden marble fell to her lips and she grabbed it in her hand. Blinking, she looked back at her hand which had suddenly ceased to blister or itch. Flipping it over just to make sure it was no trick of the light the rabbit grinned, brimming from ear to ear. Surely there was a need to be congratulated!

But that would have to wait until later, she could already feel herself falling behind. Quickly she bounded off towards her next challenge with some confidence. At least now she was back to her old self.

Scratching her head, Mea looked at the next challenge with some confusion. Before her lie a bridge of sorts, connecting one small island to the other. "So the challenge is necessary to get to the next one?" She asked herself, tilting her head again in the opposite direction than normal. Regular, ordinary, simple - these were words she couldn't possibly use to describe this bridge. Where one would walk normally across planks of wood this bridge was covered in small panels. Each panels with symbols of animals.

Mea counted and found there to be thirteen different kinds as they moved across the bridge. Pursing her lips she looked down over them, immediately recognizing them to be something even she was aware of - the Chinese zodiac. Deciphering that was the easy part, now she had to determine which would be the one to help her cross.

Easier said than done. She reflected, adding a bounce of impatience. Mea felt that time was not her friend and the more she wasted, the worse off she would do. A few strides along the bridge she noticed the rabbit symbol and felt another smile cross her lips. Rabbit-like in nature she immediately felt a sort of kinship with it and moved backwards to make a jump for it.

Rabbits are swift and lucky. And such was her reasoning as she hunched down and took off, leaping into the air to land on it.

91-99 - If your luck is above 30 +10 HP. Move on. All others must roll again. No HP Loss.

It was as if she never moved. Confused, Mea stared under her feet to find the same sandy ground under her as she had before jumping. Feeling the touch of the rabbit under her feet she had felt safe, she knew she had made contact then suddenly she was back again.

She frowned, looking over the bridge again with a shrug. "I guess the rabbit jumps backwards." Now which symbol would she try?
