Jukka paced.

And paced.

And paced.

The rains had been terrible and the flash floods, well, that was the worst. He'd nearly been swept away on multiple occasions and it was only through a stroke of luck that his claws met bark and he was able to pull himself out of the swifter waters. His duties couldn't simply be abandoned due to unnatural rain, but it was much harder for him to get anything done and to say that he was worried was an understatement.

Members were missing, he knew that much. It struck a chill in his heart. Many of the drums had floated away or had been ruined, but they could eventually be replaced. He'd visited the baboons a couple of times, to find them moderately safe, waiting out the furious rains high in the trees. They had been soaked to the bone, cold, but alive. He'd been told to go away, more or less for his own safety, until the rains passed.

Mud caked his paws and his coat was still slightly damp, but the rains had passed and the waters were receding, much to his pleasure... But others were still missing and the kima'baba was worried.

Mawi was too worried, she was pretty sure that everyone in the pride was worried. She wasn't sure if there was a lion that wasn't worried about the pride. She was pretty sure of that. It was upsetting and she was hoping that things were going to be back to normal soon, but before that, she knew that there was a lot that she had to get out of the way. The leaders were gone and she knew that for the pride to get back to normal she had to take over. She already was part leader of the pride, and now she was going to have to be completely in charge and also get the point across to Aapep that he was going to have to too. She wasn't that worried about that part of of all of this however on the other hand Mawi was worried about bringing the pride together and keeping it calm. And also trying to bring hope about the missing members. She was very concerned about that.

She stretched her paws out, the morning sun was starting to stream into her den. Waking her up. Mawi was always one to get up before the sun was ups, however she was tired and stressed, but now that the sun was coming into the den she knew she should be awake. She pushed herself up on to her paws and then turned toward her mate who was still happily snoring. She chuckled a little and then flicked her hair out of her eyes and then turned, out of habit she was about to grab her drum and put it around her neck, however her drum was in her daughter's den when the floods were happening and although her daughter got it safely up to her, it was a little too late for it. She needed to work on it and it made her extremely upset, she had to wait and she hated it.

She sighed and then started to make her way out of the den. Her paws greeted by the mud that was almost built up on the door of her den. She was getting frustrated by all of this and lifted her tail carefully as she walked. She still her her shakers luckily and that made her happy. She had to pretend like nothing was wrong for at least the pride, she put on her smile and then stopped as she paced a bush that she normally picked a flower from every morning to tuck behind her ear. She figured it would be dead, drowned by the water, she hadn't been able to pick one for the last few days but as she passed she found one flower, one beautiful flower, and she smiled, carefully picking it trying not to get mud on it and then carefully tucking it behind her ear.

As she turned some one caught her eye. A member was also already up and wandering she was happy to see it. It almost seemed at first as if everyone in the pride wanted to hide in the dens and make sure that there was not going to be another flood in the den, she was upset to see the normally friendly and upbeat lions of the pride sad and hiding fearing the next flood.

She turned in the direction of the male and then started to wander toward him. "Hello there Kima'baba." She said with a nod of the head.

"Good morning, Umshayi Wesigubhu." His voice was thick with disuse, but he cleared his throat and nodded respectfully towards Mawi. To say that he was glad to see her up and about was an understatement. She was the pride's leader, it's strength, and should they return to normalcy, she would be needed. Glad to see her, indeed. He found himself feeling somewhat embarrassed by the mud that caked his body, but it didn't last for long. There was too much to do to worry about that. He'd take the time to clean his fur thoroughly with his rough, pink tongue when his mind was more at ease.

There were the drums... But drums could be replaced. Lions couldn't.

As much as he wanted his meeting with Mawi to be a pleasant one, he didn't think that would be the case. His happy return to Nchi'Mahadi with his sisters had been short lived, what with the sudden flooding that seemed to change everything.

"Do we have an accurate head count?"

Mawi nodded toward the male and smiled. "Call me Mawi." She mentioned simply with a smile still on her face. She didn't mind being called her title but she was much more laid back then that. She liked to instead to be called her normal everyday name. She was the leader, yes, but she liked to fit in the best she could and be the same lion as all of the others. She was once just a normal lion just like everyone else. She didn't care really what she was she just really enjoyed what she did and being able to be with the rest of the pride, but mostly she enjoyed making music and spending time with everyone else. The job was just the bonus.

SShe was about to comment something else that was until she heard the male said something else. She turned her attention toward him and raised a brow curious of what he had to say. A head count, ugh. She shook her head and then look at him. "We do, but yet we don't want to call it official because you never know when some one else is going to pop out of the rocks." She sighed slightly that was how she felt. Every time some one else showed up and they got ready to make a number some one else would show up.
