"Don't be ridiculous, Tama," he said confidently when his brother tried to get him to stop being so reckless, reminding him what would happen if they did ruin something. Nothing was going to happen.

Until very suddenly it became very apparent that Obi pushing back off the shrine had unsettled it. It was slow and silent at first but as soon as Obi saw it, he scrambled to get around to help steady it- which ultimately made things worse as he pushed smaller stones out of the way. He barely made it to the other side of the shrine before he was forced to come back around and get out of the way.

"Obi!" Tama wasn't sure where to start. With the fact that they had actually done something awful, or if that large stone was going to kill his brother if it rolled on top of him. He swiveled over to make sure that Obi was going to be ok, deciding that the stone was going to be a total....utter loss. ".....s**t."

He was out of the way before the rock hit the ground with a crash. The large boulder hit several other smaller shrine stones on the way down but thanks to the level ground and it's uneven shape, it did not roll away. There was more than enough damage done to the other stones, and who knew how that had affected the markings on the large central stone.

Obi just stood there until everything settled. Then he sat down, speechlessly staring at the now meaningless pile of rocks.

Oops.

Tama just kind of....stood there for a moment. Mostly in shock, now that he knew for certain that Obi didn't get himself hurt. Somehow.

"You....I...." He couldn't quite figure out what to say. All he knew was that the two of them were in deep, deep s**t.

"Someone will have heard that," he finally said, not really sure if they should run away or own up right off the bat.

Obi was still stunned as Tama stammered but he reacted very suddenly when he pointed out that someone will have heard it. He blinked and was on his feet again, scrambling to the pile of rocks.

"We can totally fix this," he said, pacing around.. and around.. and around.

"Fix it? Are you crazy?" There was no way that the two of them were going to be able to fix it. They weren't even strong enough to push the thing back up to how it was standing! "We don't know the first thing about shrines, we're both going to be guards!"

Ok, Tama was really starting to panic now.

"No, no, no," he said, "We got this. No."

He kept walking in circles around the broken shrine, waiting for inspiration to strike and a solution to just magically appear.

"No, no, no.."

Obi stopped and looked back and forth between Tama and the shrine. They were in trouble, they couldn't fix this. They only really had one option and that was to run.

"Let's get out of here," he said, turning and jumping to get a start.

"Wait, where are you going Obi? We can't just run!" He thought that his father might be more disappointed that they ran away from the situation instead of fessing up to it. Really...he was more terrified of his parent's wrath more than whoever was the keeper of this shrine.

Plus he was a bit of a goodie goodie, something which he had been trying to shed. This situation just reminded him about how hard it was for him to really stop being a 'good' son, at least in how he assumed his parents felt about him.

"Obi...."

Obi stumbled when Tama stopped to argue about running away after doing this. They couldn't fix it, he didn't want to get into trouble but if he left his brother behind, he'd be even worse off for leaving his brother around to get blamed and then ultimately turn him in.

"Tama- but- we can't- but-"

Why couldn't he just cooperate?

Tama approached Obi, concerned about....everything. "Only if we go to find Father or Mother and tell them about this. Who knows, maybe it wasn't even a shrine with a keeper yet. Then we won't be in as much....trouble. Even if you were the one to knock it over!" Geez, all this because Obi was so confident that nothing would happen. Maybe he was stronger than he realized?

"But-"

Obi stared. They could avoid trouble altogether if they would just run away, he was panicking too much to see how much sense Tama was making. He had wrecked a shrine, he was trying to act like his brother was involved but really he wasn't the one who did anything.

"Tama--"

He couldn't form a complete thought beyond getting out of there. After another moment's hesitation and staring at his brother, he turned to make a run for it- with or without Tama.

Tama stood there, with his jaws open. Obi just ran away! And Tama had no idea what to do.
