She had noticed that the wind had lessened as soon as they entered the town, but as she continued to follow the other woman through the town, she began to notice how the winds were beginning to pick up again. As the surrounding streetlights began to lessen and finally the distance between one of them was very long, and the two women were one again relying upon the light given off from the lantern to guide their way.
Rasslyre idly reached down to ensure that the two pouches were still securely tied to one of her waist sashes. Both held importance given that one held the small amount of currency she had gotten from a performance with the minstrel family she had first met, and the other held the seed that she had been given by the mysterious man named Voren. Luckily, the wind seemed to only pick up and whip her hair and the sash she was using as a headband currently.
About 10 minutes of walking later, Rasslyre noticed that they had pulled up to a singular house. The space beyond it seemed to be swallowed up by darkness, however she could hear how the wind howled in the open space beyond the home. When the lantern was once again set on the floor, or porch it would seem, Rasslyre curiously regarded the form in front of her.
This was her home? She felt slightly bemused as the quiet girl picked up the lantern again and walked into the house, not even bothering to look back. Rasslyre was rather shocked that this girl was willing to take her into her own home because the inn was completely full up. Especially given the two of them had barely even met each other and had been perfect strangers to each other before that evening. Not that Rasslyre herself wouldn't have done the same thing for this girl, or anyone else for that matter, if she had a place of permanent residence as well.
Stepping into the house, she paused once inside to turn and close the door behind her, savoring the ceasing of heavy winds as soon as the door was firmly shut. Turning to the other girl she felt that introductions were at least in order now, especially if she was so kind as to allow her to stay in her own home.
"I'm sorry for the trouble, my name is Rasslyre."

In the same way she had before, Safiyah ignored the other woman's appologies. "My name is Safiyah." she said quietly. Now that they were no longer in the night, or her leading the other, she felt her usual tension coming on.
To keep from looking like she might want to talk, Safiyah quickly began to move about, doing this and that.
The bottom floor of the house was all open, the kitchen to the right flowed into the living room that was in the middle which then flowed into her work shop that was on the left. A loft in the center back of the house was her room. Everywhere hung kites of all shapes, colors, sizes and designs. The whole house seemed to smell faintly of tree sap, wood and paper.
Putting out the lantern she returned the untested kite to her work table then began to rifle through a closet at the back side of the living room, looking for extra blankets.

For a while, Safiyah continued to rummage and eventually found what she was looking for. She pulled out a large, heavy quilt and carried it over to the couch. Shaking it out first, she then layed it across the plush surface then folded it over.
"This is all I have." She gestured to the now ready 'bed'. Of course she had her own bed, which was actually rather spacious. But there was absolutely no way she was going to share it with anyone, let alone a stranger.
"Bathroom is around that corner." She pointed to the end of the wall that the closet had been on, which extended most of the way to the back wall, but was open at the far end, indicating a room was attached. "Food and water, there." And she pointed to the kitchen.
Almost as soon as she had done so she felt herself growing hot. The woman was blind, how was saying 'here' and 'there' while pointing going to help? Either way, she found she couldn't muster up a more helpful response. Instead she just fled up the stairs to her room. A soft poof could be heard as she apparently flopped on her bed.

Rasslyre and ventured further into the living room area, and glanced around her, trying to find a suitable place to lay down her walking stick that she still held, and her travel pack that was slung over her head and one shoulder. A sudden rush of air and a crisp sound of shaken cloth, drew her attention back to her… hostess of sorts. She was laying what appeared to be a thick quilt of some kind over the couch that sat in the living room, she straightened and began speaking.
For the first time, Rasslyre wondered if her earlier words while on the road had been misinterpreted. It was far from uncommon for her to mention her partial blindness and people to only hear the word "blind". Though… thinking back on it now she did realize that she could have worded her statement to the other girl to be much more clear.
She made a note of where Safiyah was pointing and gesturing to, again mentally filing the information away for later use or reference. As the other finished speaking, she seemed to clam up momentarily before turning tail and fleeing up the stairs to what she assumed must be a loft bedroom. A small and amused smile pulled at her lips as she moved forward, leaning down to lay her walking stick horizontally on the ground by the couch.
Safiyah hadn't even given her a chance to amend her previous words, but she found the other female's embarrassment adorable really, and a smile remained on her face as she made her way in the direction of the bathroom.
Once relieving herself and then unclipping, unbraiding, and removing her long headband, she gathered her waist length wavy hair in a single braid before heading back towards the couch and sinking gratefully onto the plush surface under the heavy quilt. Pulling it up to her chin, she turned onto her side and let her eyes slide closed.

Her dreams were the same as usual. Huge and endless expanses of white. Almost clinical in the feel and atmosphere, and yet empty. Rasslyre had once questioned why this seemed to be a recurring dream, but now embraced the brightness of which she knew she would likely never see naturally again through her own eyes. The spicy and sweet smell of cinnamon seemed to invade her lazing thoughts and slowly began to wake her up.
Her eyes blinked slowly, struggling to adjust to the larger amount of light that seemed to filter into the room behind the couch. She zeroed in on the source of the cinnamon however, and noticed a bowl of porridge sitting on the table in front of the couch. Sitting up slowly, she arched her back and grimaced as she could hear a very audible crack. Sighing, she swung her feet off from the couch and sat at the edge of it. She leaned forward and picked up the warm bowl with the spoon, inhaling the scent of cinnamon appreciatively.
Spooning the first bite of it into her mouth, she was pleased. The porridge was simple, but very delicious. Lifting her head she turned her head and glanced up in the direction of the loft where she knew Safiyah had likely retreated to after cooking the breakfast. After finishing she stood and carefully padded softly around the table, and to the kitchen. Spending a few moments quietly searching, she located the sink and brought her empty blow over to it. Rinsing it out so no residue became stuck on it, she neatly placed both the bowl and spoon into the sink, and quietly made her way back to the couch.
Glancing around now, she discovered what she had seen last night of the multitude of kites held no comparison to them in the light. It was still relatively early in the morning, so Rasslyre busied herself with reorganizing her pack and pouches that she had untied from her sash.

Rasslyre heard when Safiyah descended the stairs from her bedroom above, and when she went about cleaning the dishes. The other's movements seemed to be intentionally muted, as if she was attempting to avoid notice. Odd considering how she was in her own home, although if she had to guess it was probably her own presence that was making the other girl act as such.
Seeing an opportunity to correct the assumption that still lingered, she decided to speak for the first time since she had thanked Safiyah the previous night while efficiently folding the thick quilt and laying it at the end of the couch. "I can see things you know. To a very limited and certain extent. I just happen to be blind during the night and in areas with limited or no illumination." she murmured, slinging her travel pack over her head and one of her shoulders.
Bending down, she picked up the walking stick that had been lying on the ground at her feet, and tuned so she was facing the other girl directly across the space from the couch to the kitchen. Her lips pulled up in the corners as she smiled and continued on, "Thank you very much for allowing me to stay in your home overnight. I'll see myself out now."
As she made her way to the house's door, she paused before opening it, and spoke again, "Your kites are lovely by the way. You're really very talented." Opening the door with little difficulty, Rasslyre closed it behind her and departed back onto the road heading into the town.
