Hello and welcome to Liteartha Baile!

Here at LB, we strive for literacy within role plays and a clutter-free environment that is so uncommon in larger guilds. The guild is molded in a fashion that best suits its members. If ever you'd like to see something different within the guild, your opinions will be heard and acted upon, because there is no guild without its members. A successful guild does not come from the amount of sub forums and members inside of it, but instead from the happiness of its members. Below are a few rules and expectations that we uphold here at Liteartha Baile and that each member must abide by. They may be strict, but they are here to keep everything and everyone active. So, please, be sure to read the rules carefully and most importantly, have fun.

For the love of literacy!

From the Inside, Out
Guild Crew and Responsibilities

Firstly, for a guild to function, it must have a strong backbone, and I believe that would consist of the crew. Member Guidelines
What every member should be aware of

As stated before, the guild promotes activity and cleanliness, and this can only be achieved by enforcing some rather strict rules. As promised, here are those rules:

- Everyone should follow Gaia Terms of Service. No exceptions.

This covers cybering, bullying, excessive use of foul language, displaying immature content, and copyright infringement. Not sure about the gray areas? Scroll down to the bottom of your screen and click Terms of Service.

- Everyone must stay active.

On the 1st of every month, Human Resources contacts those members who have been inactive for one calendar month. You will receive a letter from Human Resources and will have to work something out if you would like to stay with the guild. On the 15th of every month, Human Resources sends a second letter in regards to your inactivity. If by the 27th there is no response from you, you will be removed from the guild.

In total, that gives members two months to make a post in the guild without being removed. If you know you will be on a hiatus, in order to prevent any issues with Human Resources, please make a post in the Hello-Goodbye thread located in the Main Forum. If your name is found there, Human Resources will exclude your name from the removal lists.

The removal of inactive members is important to the activity of the guild. We'd much rather have a small group of active members here than a large group of no-shows. Hopefully, you as a member will agree on this as well.

- Roleplays must remain active.

Made a roleplay? Great. But be aware, on the 20th of each month, Moderators scout the forums for inactive roleplays: these are roleplays without a post in the last 30 days. The Moderators will send you a message about the discrepancy and assist you in reviving the roleplay. If at the end of the month there is no response from you, your roleplay will be removed from the public forums until further notice.

If you're a little unsure about whether others would join your roleplay or find it interesting, try bringing up your idea in the Noodle Shop subforum. You can collaborate with other members and see if anyone would be interested in joining your roleplay.

- No one-liners.

Though we all suffer from the occasional writer's block, roleplay owners have the right to approach a moderator about a member who is excessively posting one-liners. In most other guilds, this problem would be left up to only the role play owner, but in this case, all members were chosen and invited to the guild based on their posting abilities. Therefore, in a literate roleplaying guild, one liners will not be tolerated. If you are having a problem making a post, please, ask any of the crew members or your fellow role players for help.

Other Services
What you can do as a member

Here in the guild, we have a few other things to offer. For instance, if you have an idea for a large roleplay that would take up several threads, you may purchase a private sub forum for yourself. The fee is 5,000 gaia gold with rights to do whatever you wish. You can make your own rules, invite whomever you want - anything. Just ask Some Badass Name for more details.
Note: Since our captain is on hiatus please direct your questions about purchasing subforums to minus infinity.

We also have a decorating service for those awesome roleplays and posts you are thinking up. If you aren't too great at the whole artsy thing, contact LovetoCauseMayhem for all your decorating needs.

Want to advertise your roleplay or guild? We're happy to help you out! Even if it doesn't exist inside Liteartha Baile, we would be more than glad to assist you in advertising your ideas in our monthly Newsletter or even in guild announcements and on the guild home page! Just contact SilentShadowDreamer for more details.

Want to invite a friend? How about a whole bunch of friends? No problem! Just send any Vice Captain a list of who you'd like to invite and they will send an invitation - no background check necessary! You can also direct your friends to the guild home page and have them fill out the invitation form. Just have them use your name as a reference for quick and easy entrance.

So that pretty much sums everything up. The most important thing is to have fun. Please fill welcome to post below to introduce yourself to the guild and get to know everyone around here. And if you have any questions, ANY guild member will be willing to assist you.

For the love of literacy!

Hi peoples! My name is minus infinity, but I would prefer to be called Infinity.
Real life information ::

Real name: Sara
Nicknames, past and present: Duck(ling), Saba, See-a
Age & DOB: 21, 04 / 04 / 1993
Siblings: Two sisters, one older & one younger. Older sister is Environmental Unity, younger sister is not on gaia.
Likes: Chocolate, sleeping, reading, roleplaying, most fruits, rain, swinging, talking with friends, being outdoors, animals.
Dislikes: Rude or mean people, homework, being forced to do something, summer school, waking up early, lazy people IRL, some spicy foods, anything with a bad aftertaste, bad hygiene, most insects.

RP preferences ::

To be honest, I'll roleplay just about anything except for series. I'm also a shameless, hopeless romantic and it usually shows in my roleplays.
That aside, I do not tolerate Mary-Sues or Gary-Stus. This, for those of you who are unaware, is a nickname for a character with no flaws. I have a dramatized imitation of one below:

Very exaggerated

Hi !!!!! my name is Princess Sakura Melody Lotus Angela Kagome, and i am a neko highschooler. i am so beautiful every single boy wants to have me. i have perfect grades in school and all my teachers love me and say i am sooo kawaii. i also have a really pretty voice that is better than anyone else in the world and i got 10 awards for it once. everybody loves me and i am so happy because i just found out i am royalty and i get to sit in a throne and everything.

Anything else ::

I am in two other guilds, "Why Not", and "Science of Roleplaying", so you may see me there. I'm not one of the most well-known, because I don't like to throw out all of my cards at once, but I'm there.

I may seem mean or harsh here or anywhere else, but it never means I'm actually mad at you guys. Don't be afraid to talk to me, I don't bite too hard. [;

The duck picture you see was not drawn by me, I had requested that a duck be drawn in one of gaia's art forums. I don't remember exactly who drew it though, sadly enough. It's a pretty duck, don't you think?

Hey, everyone!

My name, as you can clearly see if you look to the side of this post, is SilentShadowDreamer. I prefer Silent or SSD, but will also respond to Shadow, Dreamer, Hey You, The HR Girl, or anything else you would like to call me as long as I know it's me. I don't have an OOC posting style, much as I love looking at other people's, because - le gasp - Silent is lazy. Seriously lazy.

In real life, I'm Canadian, twenty-two, female, and in university. I'm working my way through a double Sciences and Honours English courseload, which makes (sometimes excruciating) demands on my time. I also have real-life friends who would like my attention now and then. This is my way of saying that sometimes I will be slow to respond, but don't worry, I have not forgotten you, and if I have not responded in a few days, feel free to PM me. Most likely I've just been busy, but I'll still be thankful for the reminder.

I'm very picky about spelling and grammar in my own posts, and have been known to edit posts almost a month later because I noticed that I'd spelled something wrong - and I will love you forever if you point out typos so that I don't have to wait a month and be rereading the thread to notice them. However, when it comes to other people's posts, I don't point out spelling and grammar errors unless someone specifically puts [sp?] beside it, because that just feels rude. I type very quickly, and very well most of the time, thanks to typing classes I was forced to take in elementary school.

I use British spellings. In nearly all cases. I use them because to my eye, they have more aesthetic appeal. You may think this is pretentious or stupid. That's not my problem.
...What? I sound bitter? That is crazy talk.

I love to roleplay fantasy, especially world-building fantasy, but I will accept other kinds of RPs. I like horror, war, real-life...pretty well anything, although sometimes I have a hard time wrapping my mind around sci-fi, and I usually don't RP 'next generation of *insert movie/anime/book here*'. Not only does it prevent my freedom to help build a world if it's already built, but with the copyright issues and all, things can get dicey. If I really love a book, though, sometimes I'll join (or make) an RP based in that world.

Occasionally, if I have a brilliant idea that must involve someone else's character in order to work, I will PM the RPer of said other character, detail my idea, and ask if they think it would work. My feelings will not be hurt if you say no! I may pout a little, but I'll find another way to make the brilliant idea work. However, I do ask that once I have detailed an idea to you, even if you say no, you keep it to yourself; it ruins all the fun if everyone knows beforehand! I adore throwing in plot twists, so if you are an RP master who likes to know what's going on in their RPs before it happens, please warn me so I know to tell you.

Okay. I have been running on much, much too long. If you're still reading this, you are a wonderful person and I salute you. PM me if you want more details, although considering how much I already talked about, I can't imagine what else you would want to know. XP

Hope to RP with you all soon!
Silent out!

Aloha!

...[/stereotypicalHawaiiangreeting]

Seriously though, hello to everyone reading this. I'm Talon StarDrifter, though you may call me Talon, T-Rex, TSD, or whatever other variant of my username you'd like to call me.

Anyway, I'm currently nineteen and getting older everyday, unfortunately. I was born and raised in Hawaii and I've only been to California, Nevada, and Washington (and I've only left Hawaii twice that I remember), so I'm not always familiar with mainland mentality, customs, etc. If you have any questions regarding Hawai'i, please feel free to ask me. :] But please do be tactful. I hate when people think we still live in grass shacks.

I'm currently sophomore in college. I attend a community college, my major being Commercial Aviation. Yes, that means I'm learning how to fly airplanes. I got my Private Pilot certificate back in June and I'm currently working on getting my Instrument rating. Just call me Tango Sierra Delta. emotion_dealwithit

I've been role playing for approximately six years now, my roots being with Neopets before my friends at the time introduced me to Gaia back in '05. My main thing to do on Gaia is role play, though I do like to lurk in the forums every once in a while.

My hobbies include reading, writing, singing (horribly), listening to music, watching movies, reading, playing video games, flying, playing with my kitties Ammo and Louie, hanging out with my friends, and reading. Some of my favorite books... no, I won't get into that, though I will mention that I love fantasy, fiction, and basically anything that isn't non-fiction. If you wanna talk books with me, please send me a PM or something! <3

I do have a job at the moment. I do hate it. But it's a job and I really can't be picky. I work in a law firm, doing peon work like filing, typing stuff, making copies, doing the mail, delivering stuff, answering phones, etc. Basically drudgery, but I get paid well and make my own hours. Nuff said.

...I could go on and on about myself, but I think that's it for now. It's really great to be here and I look forward to role playing with you all! :3

I was told that I should make a post here.

Alright, alright, enough with the funny. You can call me what you want; Kelp Head, New Guy; I've been called Ditto and Holmes before... or just Miinefield, if you want to be a part of the majority.

Strong points: Or at least, I like to think I do them justice.

- Grammar and spelling. I have a magical tool called Google Chrome that lets me spell things correctly as I've never been able to before.

- Characters. I take great pride in my characters and like to think that they are unique and fun to interact with. I flesh them out quite a bit and after a few pages of role playing with one it is easy for me to slip into and out of their skins.

- Activity. When engaged, I can crank out multiple posts per day. Lose my interest and activity lags.

Weak points: Things I know I am terrible at.

- Plot. And this is why I never make successful role plays. I am the world's biggest plotblocker [[ha]], so I like to have things planned in advance. Or at least have some direction.

- "Pretty" posts. You're lucky to get a post color and a picture out of me.

- Post length. Do not confuse this with "completely lame posts". My posts are almost always very short, but all of them take the plot further via dialog or action, most often both.

Favorite things to RP: It's the characters and the interaction that do it for me, but you can usually find me lurking in supernatural, slave/master [[I can feel you all judging me]], and the like.

Character archetypes: I almost always play male characters. I have an array of archetypes, but my most recent work has been with abusers. I also like to play artists, fools and derelict [[for those of you familiar with Victoria Lynn Schmidt's book "45 Master Characters". I really recommend it; it has helped me organize my thoughts and get my plot together]].

About me: You're interested? Okay, then. I am anatomy obsessed. I love to show it off when role playing; please just humer me. [[See? I just can't get enough of it]].

I love me a dark, twisted anything. Plot, character, scene... the more visceral, the more entertained I am. Not to say that I can't do sappy and cute; it's just a little more rare for me is all.

I like to consider myself a satirist [[I'd like to say "in the style of Chuck Palahniuk", but that man is no mere mortal and I don't praise myself that way.]] so sometimes my posts get a little prosey and I sometimes throw in stream of consciousnesses once in a while to color things up.

I also make up words from time to time if it means keeping the pace and a good flow.

Have I scared you away yet? No? Cool! I look forward to quality role plays with fun people.

Alright, alright...

I'll make a damn post.

Hi! I'm Some Badass Name. You can call me Badass or SBN. I would much rather perfer, Spaniard. You'll see some posts around the guild from the user name: Spaniard The Last Angel. That was me, and I obviously grew attached to the name, so yeah.

I am twenty one years old. Old- there's a pretty blunt way to put it. I see since some people here have taken to listing their life accomplishments lately, that I should do the same. But be warned: I'm old remember? That means I have a lot to say smile Hell, to make it simpler, I'll catagorize everything.

The Basics:

- Female

- Twenty-one years old

- Favorate color= Red

- Houston, Texas born and raised.

- If you guessed from my perferred nickname that I'm Spanish, send me a trade. I'll give you 2k.

- I don't go to college. I tried it. I was accepted to Rice University, so I'm not stupid. I just don't like institution. I attended Houston Community College for a semseter in a half to major in Audio Engineering and minor in english.

- I actually wanted to go to the Navy. I'm a total ROTC nut, having been in Army ROTC in middle school and Navy ROTC in high school I quickly rose in my freshman year as the Commander of the Armed Drill Team. I competed in rifle sight shooting, honor guard, color guard, female color guard, academic team, pyhsical fitness team, and Petty Officer First Class of my class.

- While I was in highschool, I wanted to be a fighter pilot. I was taking private pilot lessons from the high school and almost got my license when I was told by my recruiter that I did not qualify for the areopspace tactical and combat training program because I lack natural 20/20 vision. Crushed, I gave it up.

- In high school (they are the best years of our lives, aren't they?) I also was a continuous Mistress of Ceremonies, competed on the Debate team, founded the Latin Ladies society club, was a member of the Broadcasters club and played guitar in the Jazz Band.

- I'm a very physical person. I competed in both varsity soccer and softball. I also won state in woodmill and cabinet making. (I still have my prize winning dresser.)

- I'm very bad at art. I try to draw my characters, but I end up with stick men with squiggly lines around them.

- I am a band manager. I play the rythm guitar and cannot read music, even tough I produce all the music and have contracts with five different musicians. (I like to be in charge of people, don't I?)

- I am engaged to by beautiful fiance, Jessica. She is my everything and I cannot imagine my life without her. Actually, I sometimes try to imagine it, and I end up making myself cry.

- I'm super emotional in real life. I have a hard exterior to sheild myself from my inner emotional mush.

- My spelling is el terrible. And sadly, I've come to terms with it. So if there are some spelling errors, I most likely won't catch them because in my mind, they look right.

- I love all types of music. Especially hard rock. (I'm a ninties kid.) I grew up with Spanish music and pop music as well, and appreciate sitting down to listen to some jazz and classical. I'm very bad at memorizing band names and such, so if you try to talk to me about such things, I'll probably say 'whaaaaaaaaaaa?' until you show me a link. Then I'll be like 'oh, those guys!'

- Am I boring you yet?

- I love action/history movies. Love love love them. Recommend one to me, please.

- I'm poor.

- Running out of things to say...

And now, the role playing stuff. (This list will actually be shorter.)

- I like fantasy and romance.

- I will not do boy love. I will play a boy, but not a homosexual boy. I've tried. Its hard for me since I'm a woman, and I like other women, so yeah.

- I don't really like to do second generation or series based role plays, unless the story line REALLY catches my interest.

- Not big on futuristic stuff either.

- I have a small list of characters that I usually role play with. Specifically, I have lycan and angel characters, but also don't mind a good ol' fashioned human role play. My favorates are: Spaniard, Adrian, Carmen, Israel and Arian. (F-F-F-M-M)

- Fight me. Please. I know how to take a hit and lose, and I sure as hell know how to give one back. I don't like overly powerful characters. I tend to favor hand to hand combat and small uses of magic outside of being a supernatural being.

- I suck at thinking of a plot. I can think of characters and settings and what not, but I'm really sketchy about plots. Specifically because I like to at least know where a role play is going from the get go. Are we supposed to save the world? Sweet. Who's the bad guy? Awesome. Can I kill him? No? Fine.

- I am not the best at making pretty posts. I can put a picture and color my text and maybe put a quote here and there, but thats it.

So, gather what you will from that. I'm a very straight forward person and don't like to beat around the bush. I can also have a foul mouth sometimes, so I beg your pardon before hand. Oh! One more thing, my babies...

Lobo- Alaskan Huskey- Female- 16 years (Deceased)

Don Diego Fransico (Diego)- Grey Tabby- Male- 7 years

Isabella Joy (Joysabella)- Random Black Cat- Female- 3 years

Maximilliano Rafael (Max)- Dashund?- Male- 2 years

Buckles- Red Beta- 1 year

Okay, NOW I'm done.

-Meow.

Hello! I, am Little Miss Opinionated--or LMO. Don't really mind what you call me, though; Little Miss, Miss, LMO is all good.

There's a lot here I could say, and trust me my introductions and such can get rather long-winded, but I'll try and keep it shorter and to the point.

Types of Roleplays I Like: I like almost anything, from Vampire RPs to Six-Eight Friends at a Beach House. And I'm always interested in trying something new, so long as it isn't:
- Wolf-related; I just never found the Wolf Pack RPs or Werewolf RPs very intriguing. Not to say that is can't have Werewolf characters, I just don't want anything based solely on wolves.
- WWI or WWI-esque Roleplays; I am just not a fan, though I never see many. I like RPs with action and fighting, and war is cool--but I prefer it be a war with humans and some other species or race, or just in medieval times.
- Clique Roleplays; After the phrase 'Queen Bee' is seen, I'm already closing the tab. Enough said.
- Gifted Running From Government; It's a good RP-base, but let's be honest here: It's overplayed. If it's a new and interesting twist on the subject, we can talk. But if it's the classic black-and-white cardboard cut-out RP, count me out.
- Arranged Marriage Roleplays; Again, played out. If it's a really interesting line-up of characters, maaaaybe. But I'd come up with a really riveting backstory andplenty of twists up front as well as some up your sleeve if you want my attention.
- Yaoi/Yuri Roleplays; I have nothing against them, they just aren't my thing.
(That's basically it, though I might turn down some not on this list if they just don't sound like what I'm looking for at the time)

Strengths:
- I am very good at describing actions and much of my posts try and capture smaller moments to give a more realistic feel to the image I'm trying to create.
- My posts aren't always super long, since I've gotten good at cutting away filler and making my posts nice sweet spots of length and quality.
- I can come up with really good twists at random, and can plan things forward so that there's long-term goals and events that can be reached.

Weaknesses:
- Sometimes I run out of ideas and get discouraged, which hinder my posts.
- I utterly despise re-typing posts, or anything really. If I lose it, I will rarely re-write because I'm never happy with it afterwards.
- Sometimes I get impatient and become a post-hog or a badgerer. I apologize in advance--just say something to me PLEASE!

Also, I only play female characters. I suck at male characters, and yes I've tried. If you've got a Roleplay I might like, let me know! I'd love to take a peek.
