The Darkwood Forest (Forsaken Shadows Land)

~Grim glanced at Numair with a satisfied grin.~ We will go tomorrow night...for now we have what we need to survive. ~He turned to Silver.~ We should send more scouts out and make sure that we have no more intruders and that the land is safe to hunt on before we make the trip. ~When he finished speaking he crept back into the shadows to watch over the pack.~

As Vivan and Kano watched their pack and the newcomers eating away, they looked at each other in the eyes. If they were humans, it would have been disgusting because of the blood and organs but as werewolves, it's something of a delicacy. Kano trotted off to what was left of the dough. He sank his teeth into the right foreleg and tore a large piece of it apart. He dragged it back to their spot and they both sank their teeth eating the raw dough's flesh. Quite warm, soft, and bloody but somehow tasty to their tongues.
Kano overheard about the hunting party and the scouts to make sure the area was safe and secure but where are they going to hunt for food? He questioned to any of the alphas who were listening to him, "And where are we going to hunt for the food that would last us for couple of days?"

The two brothers had moved to the side as Lance had finished and after the small pup essentially forced his brother to eat something through excessive pouting. Gareth honestly didn't think much of the whole disgusting thing the others were thinking of. As far as he could tell his human self didn't exist anymore, might as well grow used to it and the 'perks' that came with it. He had a question for his brother, it felt only right to ask for his opinion.

"Lance...what do you think of them?" The pup's response started as a confused tilt of the head as he continued licking at whatever blood remained on his mouth. Gareth half expected this to remain for a while, but the joyous tail wag as Lance's gave shifted back and forth gave him something of an answer. He seemed happy in this group, but Gareth still had some dilemma going on. If only he could explain the situation in a way to make him understand...

His thoughts were interrupted again by Lance. The pup once again saw fit to rub his hand against the elder's front left leg. It was easy to tell that Gareth was troubled, but by what was only slightly understood. Still the little wolf's ears twitched as Silver gave out ranks. His eyes fell up looking into his brother before rushing off the the Alpha Female. "Lance, wha-" It was all he got out as he watched his brother run off.

The subtle smiles were over and now he couldn't help the equivalent of a smile as he saw Lance's behavior. "Silver, Alpha, whichever you prefer, I think he wants to join your pack here and I think he's going to need some help..." It was a huge decision to base on a child's desires, but it was better than anything he had at the moment. "I'm not much, but I'm willing to help however you need."

Silver smiled at Lance and Gareth joining the pack. "It doesn't matter if your much or not now, you will certainly grow with us in time." She looked down at Lance. "Because you are so young, you will remain the pack pup, that is of course until you grow. And Gareth, you will be a scout." She sat up from where she was, nudged Lance to Gareth, and walked over to Grim. "When you do go out tomorrow night for the hunt, take Numair, Arkion, and anyone else that volunteers." Silver felt such great pride in her growing pack. She looked around at each of them, and felt great potential in them all. "Your all free to do what you please for now." She went back to the alpha's area, and laid down for a rest. Knowing that Ashur and Grim could take care of things, she closed her eyes peacefully and fell silently asleep. [The sun is beginning to set now, and it's getting late.]

It seemed like maybe none of the alphas listened to Kano's concern. He'll have to find out once the hunting party starts going but for now he should get some sleep. Vivan, on the other hand, was asleep in her wolf form. Her front paws were on what was left of the carcass they ate as she doze off to sleep. He chuckled seeing who his wife was becoming a bit more like a wolf now than human. As he took the leftover carcass out her paws, he snuggled up next to her while putting his head over her's. Over time, Kano started to fall asleep, waiting for a new morning to arrive in his new life.

waiting for the next day to arrive Numair walks over to the wall to take a nap. at least the floor will be cool to lay on.

~Grim walked towards Ashur, his pelt swaying with each step.~ Ashur I'm sure you can handle things for a while. ~He quietly whispered as he met his gaze then turned and walked out of the cavern without a word to anyone else. Grim was alpha now and scouting out big game alone could be dangerous for anyone. He would only put himself at risk. He had to make sure that he could pick up a hot trail and that the path ahead would still land in their territory.~

~Grim headed north with his crimson eyes ahead of him and his nose to the ground. It wasn't long before he picked up a scent his nose could track with ease. He followed the trail for a while only to pick up on another similar sent. Grim took a big whiff of the scent just to make sure. Yup, It was bear and more than one to boot. He finally found a track he could recognize as the trail got hotter about another mile down. Big bear by the size of it he thought as he looked at the tracks. Grim spent the next half hour making sure that it was within the packs scent markers and that there were no other hot wolf trails through the area then headed back for the cavern.~

~Satisfied with his find, Grim shifted into human form and gracefully walked into the cavern with authority. His gaze met Ashur's as he spoke.~ Ashur, round up every pack member old enough for the hunt. We are going to need numbers for this one.~ Grim reached his hands in his pocket and pulled out a stand of bear fur that he found on a branch and gave it to Ashur.~ I picked up on 6 trails total and they were all headed northwest towards the border so we have to catch them before they cross over or we lose our meal.


~Grim left Ashur to his task and went to make sure Silver was awake, he know that for such a newly formed pack that he would need her help keeping the hunting party in line for their first run. He entered the alpha area to find Silver dead asleep. He sat down beside her and gently nudged her awake.~ Silver. ~He said quietly so he did not alarm her.~

Silver woke up right away at the slight touch, but was not frightened. "Yes, what is it Grim?" She was still half asleep, and had no idea why she was being woken up. She sensed no danger near by, so why would he be waking her up? She yawned and stretched out her front legs.

~Grim stood and gave her a gentle reply.~ I went looking for a good trail and I pick up on some bear but there are many and it will take more than just a few of us to take them down. In order to lower the risk I'm taking every able bodied wolf on the hunt.~He held out his hand to help her up.~

Silver took his hand, got up, and was immediately awake hearing about bears. "How many bears do you suppose there are, and how many of us do you think it'll take?" She would have to come up with a strategy to be able to successfully take down the bears without anyone being harmed.Perhaps she could freeze them in their tracks while everyone else attacked?

Seeing everyone going to rest, Arkion figured he should save up his strength too for the hunt tomorrow night. He walked off to his area, slumped back down to his crystal chair, and dozed off without another sound. [Waiting for sun to rise]

Choestoea listened outside the cave through the discussion of tracking the bears, she observed the dynamics of the group and decided that was a group that would be strong, and a strong group is one to join. She debated the bear attacks and escaped into the shadows of the woods, thinking her powers could definitely help in this case. She tracked down the bear trails, and laid in wait for when the pack would come through to greet them and offer her help.

Having woken up when Grim arrived back at the cave Numair hears the sound of running paws retreating but sensing no danger from them he just grumbles to himself. I should tell silver that there was someone at the entrance to the cave just now. It may be important. Getting up Numair goes to tell his alpha that there was someone at the entrance to the cave but that they ran away.

~Grim gave her a serious look as he began to reply.~ Six at least. Silver it will take all of us with us still learning how to function as a pack. Every wolf able to hunt is being assembled by Ashur as we speak.~Grim glanced around to make sure no one was in ear shot of their conversation.~ We have to be careful...I picked up another wolf's scent earlier, as I was speaking to Ashur. No need to alert the pack just yet, but we must be cautious.
