YOU FIND YOURSELF AT THE TOP OF A TOWER. How do you know this? That flight of neverending stairs you just climbed! At least, you thought they were neverending.. until you got here. Good on you, child!
Fortunately, though, the inspiring atmosphere of this room inspires you to regain all your strength and energy! What constitutes the inspiring atmosphere of this room?
MY PRESENCE, OF COURSE!
Bask in my GLORY. It's not often that I appear to the likes of you! In fact, I'm beginning to tire of you.... WHICH MEANS IT IS TIME TO DESTROYYYYYYYYYYY RAAAARGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
THE OOC: Welcome to the Boss Fight Tutorial! For this fight, you may use your characters. We request that at this time, you consider this RP non-canon; your character will NOT recall what has happened in this thread. This battle never took place at all. In addition, there are both Hunters and Halloween people here. For the purposes of this tutorial, we request that you please do NOT attack each other and focus on the boss. Finally, please fill this out for me. Thanks!: Character Year: Y1/Y2/Hunter Trainee HP: KEEP TRACK OF THIS Fear/Charge Attack: What's it called, what mechanic is it, what dice do you roll?
Remember, to have this count towards your character's growth please have at least 800 words written during this RP! Thanks!
►►►►► For Future Bosses: The above was written to gather information we needed at the time to create this guide; you do NOT need to request that players fill out that form. So, please feel free to ignore this first post. Your first post is your boss intro post: most likely the GM for the group will write this for you.
Instead, you get to do the fun part: battling! Proceed to the next note!

Huff... huff... Oh, Cass had known she wasn't built for this much climbing and it was doing well to utterly wipe the floor with her. She'd probably taken a break six times after the first 20 minutes of what had seemed like endless walking. She actually could hear the endless staircase music from Super Mario 64 playing in her head as she walked. Would it take this long to get back down the stairs?
Oh ******** ******** ********. She never wanted to see stairs again in her entire life when this was over. She wanted to magic summon her boyfriend to carry her back down them and maybe (definitely) reward him with kisses for it. Because stairs. Staaaiirrrsss. It would be unfortunate for Cassandra when her hatred of stairs was wiped from her canon. Because it would have been a hilarious trait to play, if not inconvenient. But for the sake of helping, this small piece of her existence was being sacrificed.
Not that she knew it.
When she finally got to the top of the stairs, she threw one fist up in the air.
"FINALLY!!" she yelled, seeming to think of how utterly glorious it was to finally be rid of those stairs. There were several long moments in which she had to catch her breath, but somehow once she'd done that, she'd managed to regain her energy. Huh, that was str-
What was that thing doing here
Cass seemed to growl at the presence of the ghost, seething, even, at it.
"NOT IF I DESTROY YOU FIRST!!" she growled back. Conveniently, there was a table for her to flip in a rage.
Cass's Stats Character Year: Hunter Trainee HP: 40/40 Fear/Charge Attack: DOINK! - Cass's weapon, when charged, can be used to make a highly concentrated blow that can crack through armor and still inflict pain to those it is used on. It is The Battle Cry in terms of dice mechanic and because she is a Hunter Trainee she rolls 7 d4 to execute her attack. However, because she is a Hunter Trainee she has to hit the enemy three times to use it!

What. The Jack.
Sparrow had no idea what was going on. Nor was even quite sure of why he had decided to climb the seemingly endless flight of stairs that had taken him almost an hour and a half to climb.
It took singing Hell's Bells and Other Things (a favorite tune of his parents) over and over and over again inside of his mind to keep himself from simply collapsing on the stone steps and giving up - like listening to a very old song on repeat until it became annoying.
By the time he reached the top, he was leaning heavily on his scythe and attempting to breathe properly.
"What...is...going...on..."
The words were gasped out as Sparrow hauled himself up the final step (almost tripping over his own two feet in the process), and found himself staring at -
Well. He wasn't entirely sure what exactly. It was round, sparkly, and, er...mustached.
And holding a wand. Sparrow wondered if he was hallucinating. Which wouldn't have surprised him - being at Amityville High often made one question their sanity, at least in his point of view. Not that he had anything against the school (he did rather enjoy himself most of the time), but simultaneously there was no doubt that the school was, in and of itself, quite unexpected ninety percent of the time. One could never be certain as to what might be lurking around the next corner, after all.
"I think I took a wrong turn somewhere."
Quote: Character Year: Y1. HP: 30/30 Fear: -- > Sparrow's scythe, like all reapers, is the most important aspect of his FEAR. He can use it to "pin" his opponents by their shadows. Using the blade to "capture" the shadow, Sparrow can hold an opponent in place long enough to do at least some sort of damage - for the most part. When there aren't many shadows, or even none at all, it makes it much more difficult for him to use his FEAR. When he has managed to successfully pin an opponent, depending on the strength of the person he's attacking, it only lasts a short time before the other can break away.
-- > Sparrow uses "The Tainted Fang," so he rolls 3d4.

U MAD BROS? AND SISTAHS? THOSE STAIRS ARE HOW I KEEP MY SHAPE. The boo strikes a pose and sparkles.
I WILL NOW PUNISH YOU FOR YOUR LACK OF APPRECIATION FOR STAIRS AND ALSO YOUR TERRIBLE INEPTITUDE. YOU TOOK FOREVER TO GET UP HERE, WHEN YOU SHOULD ONLY HAVE TAKEN TEN MINUTES!
He pauses, beginning to sob tragically. He looks at Danny purposefully, tears streaming down his cheeks, as he approaches her....
I WAS SO LONELY. SO LONELY! BUT NOW MY LONELINESS IS RAAAAAAAAAAAGE. I WILL DESTROY ALL OF YOU.
Did this Boo never not speak in capslocks? One thing was for sure, though... it was not a happy Boo. Waving its short boo-hands in front of it, it summoned a huge mushroom, and tossed it.... at TYBALT, the last to enter! SHAAAAAME ON YOU!
(( HP : 70 / 70 || DAMAGE DONE (Tybalt) : 3 ))
►►►►► For Future Bosses: As with every post you make, you need to keep track of three things:

Sparrow recognized the black dog from classes; he had seen him around campus, and, of course, with the lovely, redheaded shewolf he was so fond of. He could not recall his exact name, but at least there was a familiar face in this rather...unusual situation. And there was Danny as well, the fire demon who he was assisting in mastering her etiquette.
...a very long and arduous task, Sparrow thought with a mildly exasperated sigh. Danny was quite bright, but when it came to etiquette...
The other two, however, were not familiar to him at all. In fact, if he didn't know any better, he would have thought they were reapers like himself. Except something about them seemed distinctly...off.
Like the fact that one of them was carrying a large and ornate bow and arrow, the other a gun with a chain-attached knife.
That was pretty unusual, yes.
He stared at them for several minutes, momentarily distracted from the wailing creature in front of them. In fact, he was so focused in his musings that he did not really hear the white haired one talk until several moments after the fact.
"Hmm? Oh - "
A pause. Sparrow's eyes narrowed just the slightest bit.
"Enemy?" he repeated lightly, slightly outraged at the insinuation, but since there were more pressing matters at hand - like the fact that the creature was now sobbing hysterically and threatening death to them all - he thought it best to just move on.
He bowed to the white haired man. "Now, if you'll excuse me, we have a weeping, mustached creature to take care of."
Said creature was now carrying an enormous mushroom (where had he gotten that, anyway?) and was now proceeding to chuck it in the direction of the black dog.
Sparrow swung the shadow scythe in his hand around, attempting to have it connect with the creature's head.
Sadly, his aim was slightly off, and the scythe just glanced off of the mustached boo, leaving Sparrow mildly disgruntled.

►►►►► For Future Bosses:
As a Year One character, Sparrow can only roll 2d6 to deal damage. ALL TiH students can only hit one target; only certain Fear attacks can hit more than one target.
Fear attacks are special attacks TiH players can perform. More on those later.

Cass pointed at Bix. "YOU DON'T SPEAK TO ME!!!" she yelled, seething venomously. Ghost, ghost, ghost, ghost ghost. G;lkdfhasfsalkfads;gflaksdfgadsfkldsf. She was so ********' angry. Why hadn't anybody told her there were going to be ghosts???! She'd had her angry outbursts before, but at this moment, even Nicodemus was chilling in her head. Then again, he was just proud of the fact that something related to her mission had so much of her attention.
She'd just told a boy to leave her alone. Oh, his little Cassandra was growing up so fast! SO PROUD.
SO JACKIN' PROUD. Cass grabbed the chain around her waist and it reneged to her pull, the broken apart links forming into two seperate halves. One half was a gun, the other gunblade. Could her bullets hit this ********? Oh, she wanted to find out. She lifted her gun and pulled the trigger.
PEW PEW PEW!
Cass's aim really sucked, to be honest. She hadn't even really acknowledged the other people in the room either. Oops!
Cass did 1 damage. Fail.
Cass's Stats Character Year: Hunter Trainee HP: 40/40 Fear/Charge Attack: DOINK! - Cass's weapon, when charged, can be used to make a highly concentrated blow that can crack through armor and still inflict pain to those it is used on. ►►►►► For Future Bosses:
Cass is a Hunter Trainee, on the same level as a Year Two Halloween Student. Hunters are humans with magical weapons. Their weapons have a telepathic bond with them that only the hunter they're bonded to can hear.

Danny sat up a bit, still a little winded. Why weren't any of these other people out of breath? That climb was hard! When the ghost started whining about destruction, Danny just whined back. "Can't we just destroy things tomorrowwwww."
Then the ghost came and addressed her personally, and her eyes popped wide open. This ghost meant business! As he attacked Tybalt, Danny shouted, "Puppy watch ou-" but it was too late. The ghost had already pinned the puppy boil.
Well Danny wasn't going to stand for that. Even if she and Tybalt weren't the best of friends, this wasn't about loyalties. It was a simple math problem: ghost attacks us. We attack back. Done and done.
So Danny did just that. She shot a simple fireball at the mushroom (though whether it worked, or just bounced off, Danny didn't see. It probably did nothing), and then aimed a punch straight at the ghost. Fun times!

This was, by far, the weirdest situation Sparrow had ever been in.
Barring that one time he had stumbled across his older siblings plotting an elaborate prank involving chickens, jello, and something green that smelled like dead fish.
He had not even questioned them that time - only stared for a moment, turned around, and walked away.
Except it seemed like he probably couldn't do that here - not that he even would, since abandoning the others in the room was a dumb idea and Sparrow most likely would not have been able to just leave them, even if he tried.
And now it had an ostrich.
No, really, what just happened.
Sparrow gave a small sigh, spun his scythe around in his fingers, and then dived for the creature again, swinging the large metal weapon towards it.
To his great relief, instead of missing this time, the scythe connected with the side of the boo with a rather satisfying clunk, Sparrow leaping nimbly backwards and standing with a pleased smile, holding the black object in one gloved hand beside him.
