It has come to my attention that many people have been discussing ab nauseam the facts that are to occur in the year of 2012 all over the forums of Gaia.
So I thought it would be a very good to start a topic where you can show me your of what's going to happen (or not going to happen) in 2012. You may use any kind of means for expression, images, videos, words, whatever you want.
My beliefs
Many years ago, the Maya civilization had a calendar that was divided in cicles, and the end of their last calendar happened to be in 2012. I believe that it is pure bullshit that the world is going to end in the end of the Maya calendar. It is simply the end of an era. Historians have been discussing this topic to, and it is said that this era, is the era of ignorance, that should be ending in 2012, because men are destroying nature every day, and if we don't stop, then we are going to end, not the world, WE.

Um....
Hate to say it, but it is only going to get worse before it gets better. Not just nature, but the whole shabang.
And realistically Just because the Mayans were mathematical geniuses does not mean the world is going to end because a piece of stone said so.

Sorry to burst your bubble but 2012 is a load of bull. It wont happen not for millions of years. It jsut stupid every 21st December the Earths axis moves a tiny bit so its nothing new. And theres not actual evidence that the world will end in 2012 so you can or can't say if it wll actually happen even though if it does it'll be awesome because it won't kill us it'll just split us into another ice age well thats what i think anyways. But i do find it higly doubtful of it actually happening.

The world is indeed ending. But the misinformed masses who believe time as a linear construct don't realize that the thing about 2012 is all about cycles. Many, many, MANY cycles of time are ending and rebeginning in this period. Everything from 1986 - 2036 is apart of the '2012 era', as of course just another cycle. The idea that the whole world will collapse in a single year is foolishness. It has been collapsing for decades and will certainly collapse soon. That is inevitable. Stop worrying about dates and know it's already been and gone. The now is all that matters. You'll realize what that means someday.

I would think there would be much more obvious and extreme signs the world was ending than there have been (If there have been any at all). We're always trying to predict the end of the world but why? To prepare for it? How the hell do you prepare for death? Especially when you know it's coming, it's just going to be crazy. You wait, and you psych yourself up and then what? You're still totally not prepared to die. I think I'd rather it come unexpectedly long down the line then expect it to come in 2012.
