White. A color of peace, reverence and safety.
The Hyuga are a clan of great honor and great secrecy. One of the oldest clans on record, there is nothing more important to their people than upholding the Hyuga name. Those in their favor find themselves a loyal ally, and their opposition, a relentless enemy.
The clan head and their family make up the Main House of the Hyuga clan. They are the single being in possession of all clan knowledge. The rest serve as members of the Branch House--guardians of their leaders and personifications of their clan's very way of life.
And yet, honor is not without sacrifice.
On the third birthday of the clan's heir, those marked to be relegated to the Branch house receive their brand. The infamous curse mark allows the Main House complete control over the inflicted Branch members, lest they suffer immediate punishment of pain and death.
Whatever must be done to protect the clan.
Three years ago, the iron peace of the Hyuga was punctured; the clan's head slain and his aged father fallen ill, leaving the second-oldest son to take his brother's place as leader of their people. The criminal remains unknown and unpunished. Still, the Hyuga's legacy continues, haunted by tension and unease beneath their new leader.
Also of sterility, callousness and death.
