The pride was more restless by the day, enough tjhat Treize stepped out of his den with his daughter and son to call the pride togethjer.

Nights ago he'd discussed his fgears with Arden aqnd his last son Piatsu.

Rebellion was growing strongher and the pride needed to speak as a whole to know their leaders weren't feuding as rumours stated.;

The evening mist was thick at his paws as he assembled his lofty perch-- once held by the Dermail clan until it was shown the only one of the line of age was a female, leaving him the only 'proper' heir.

Irony, but nmot now. Now, he looked out, heart warming breifly as his mate, even if secretly, was approaching. There was hissing from the old nobles and silence, awe in the eyes of those colonists whom made it.

Such as thje priests. He barely gave J a glance, amused, ever so slightly, to see S and G approaching-- Cheetahs now? really? He shook his head, ignoring the scowl from J as he realized O and H both missing.

He glanced, studying others. Arden took her seat and he was slightly relieved to know Arden was trained enough by J to know her place was not by him (which he resented!) and when he saw her fear rising at H and O's lack of presence.

It was reflected in the pride as fear, when the male spoke.

"Where are the priests."

Nevermind the gods. Epyon and Deathscythe were both clearly missing as well, setting him ill at ease./ Whispers spread as wildfire and he noted Arden hissing, tewnsing as a small band parted for a female lioness, flanked by her adult daughter, a semi-psychotic grin on her maw.

Mah'Rie'Meiah Barutono-0Khushrenada moved through tjhe crowd, the closest to calm she normally showed as she straightened, smirking.

"You ask where the traitors to the colonies are, fgather?" She suddenly seemed... Too eager, and motioned wit6h a paw to a pair of flesh and bone.

"Why, your precious priests are right here."

Silence. A look of disgust, horro-- all manners of emotions took every face.

Mah'Rie'Meiah ignored it.

"The same fate waiting for you lot, and anyone else whom represses the colonies!":

The female purred, smirking darkly to the rulers smugly, Arden mortified when the rebel was swatted at roughly, a young male aside a female, both flanked by an outsider as the male hissed.

"No, mother. Death isn't the answer. The Colonies can coexist wityh the mainland." Ein snarled, looking to the assembled pride, including the oft ignored Sanc.

Piatsu frowned, seeming to recognize his nephew's intent and stepped forwards, followed by Arden.

"He's right." The Governess looked out.

"Rebellion is not the answer. those whom cast their loyalties to their pride know this."

Mah'Rie'Meiah snarled, claws baring as she spun.

"Loyalty? Only by rebellion will the Colonies be freed!"

She spun, and gave a signal.

Now was the time.

And she called on her army to rise.

How this RP will work:

Those on the side of the Rebellion are required to post their allegiance to Mah'Rie'Meia in bold red. For the Prime Minister, Governess, and Pride, use bold blue to pledge loyalty. We'lkl call this a valid RP for joining when tje thread completes and we close it. wink So once complete, go get that cert/update/as needed. The rebels are also attacking! To do so roll a D10 and attack as you move to Meiah's side! A role over 5 means a loyalist is injured defending their leaders and the heirs! A loyalist too will roll a D10. Over 5 takes down a rebel! At the close we'll total the numble of rebels and loyalists defeatd to determine the outcome of the attack. Loyalists may randomly be then PMed with a new rank offer regardless of species; most likely as a soldier or the new-coming Aristocratic rank, Marquis. Le Gasp! So GET TO WORK! :>

Mosi heard vaguely of the civil unrest between the colonies. It was difficult to remain updated on the latest news when the male was mainly a loner. He couldn't speak well, which made him self conscious and ultimately distant from others. Preferring the lonesomeness in comparison to being embarrassed by his speech impediment and lack of intelligence. There was the sense of tension in the air, even he was aware of it.

Seated among the pride's members, the leopard's ears were pert and alert. Trying to soak in all that transpired. It wasn't difficult, the louder female's shrill voice carried well to the back of the group. Maybe if Mosi knew more of what was going on rather than this outburst and heard both arguments from each side... his answer might have been different. But based on what he just saw, the easiest option was clear. One of the first voices to speak up ironically came from the quietest pride member of all.
" 'm loyal to de pride!"

Maidin had stood among her kin, watching as the Prime Minister spoke, her lovely face a mask of serenity, though her eyes were searching the gathered lions for her love. She saw him, down among the crowd, and she was half way to lifting her paw up to adjust the delicate jewels along her brow and subtly wave to him in the process when the gruesome site of the priests were unveiled.

Maidin stared in horror, her beryl colored eyes wide in shock as she stood frozen in place, a scream wanting to tear itself out of her throat, but not able to past the disbelief that held her paralyzed. The sheltered noble could not move as her mind tried to wrap itself around what she saw and how it could have been two she had known since birth.

As the fighting broke out around her, Maidin stood still as a statue, putting her in bodily danger and fang as claw came out and sides were chosen.

Trathnóna had been stood near the back of the gathering. Not the type to stand up and make himself noticed he had spent most of the intervening time watching his lover, Maidin, as everyone else waited for the proceedings to start. he had high hopes for this meeting. Surely something could be worked out that would avoid the unnecessary bloodshed he feared would follow if the Aristocracy continued to refuse to listen to the colonies.

Violet eyes turned to follow Mah'Rie'Meiah as the lioness stalked through the gathered lions. Something about her expression made the fur along his spine stand on end and an uncertain lump form in his belly. All of a sudden the mass of lions between him and Maidin felt threatening and he started to shoulder his way forwards, her name silent upon his lips as fear suddenly rose up within him.

Then is happened, lion after lion rose up around him, screaming at the top of their lungs as their leader incited them to violence. His own voice rose wildly, but his wasn't a call of vengeance, but of desperation as he struggled to reach her.. "Maidin!" The wind was knocked out of him as a large lion charged into his side, forcing Trathnóna back a pace. With a roar of rage and terror for his beloved he screamed at the top of his lungs.
"Freedom for all!" Charging into the fray he started to cut and claw his way towards where Maidin stood, determined to reach her and protect her from the maddened lions all around.

(Angileena will not be fighting. She will only try to dodge. The rest of the dice rolls will be for the others, in order of posting.)

User Image
It was starting. That was all Angileena could think as she walked beside her mother, head down and ears back, fear in her heart and an attempt to stay calm on her face. Her mother's senseless war was starting.

The priests weren't traitors, like her mother claimed. They just knew that the vision her mother had of what would win them freedom wasn't the right one. She would mourn the loss of the L4 and L5 priests later, in private. If she did so around her mother...things would get worse.

With her brother's arrival, and then beginning of setting where loyalties lay...she knew she couldn't join her brother. Though it might have been the safer path, she was more of use by her mother's side, where she could sneak warnings to those who would fight against her madness. And maybe, just maybe, save her mother from herself. She gave her brother an apologetic look when her mother wasn't looking, then moved to stay beside her mother. "I stand beside you mother."

But in her heart, her loyalties lay with the pride in this matter.

User Image
Kaida stayed close to her twin sister and mother and 'father', uncertain what was going on. All she knew was her 'uncle' had called a meeting of the pride. And that had to mean something was wrong, especially with the way some of the pride members held themselves, watching everything. And something was VERY wrong indeed. There were priests missing.

She pressed closer into Hametsu as Mah'Rie'Meiah showed herself...and showed what was left of the priests H and O. The leopardess could only stare, her legs feeling weak. How could she? They'd been holy men! What had they done to deserve death, and then to be humiliated in their deaths? She was on her paws as soon as the war cries rang out, her twin's and father's lessons in defending herself ringing through her mind. "Tearing the pride apart is not the answer! I am loyal to the end!"

User Image
Shiran had not liked being called out of his sleep. He got precious little of it. And his 'daughter' Kaida had an odd talent for reading into things, and knowing when something was off by the way others were acting. The fact she was ill-at-ease only made him more wary.

That wariness paid off. He couldn't help but growl at Mah'Rie'Meiah. It was always the lions who cracked the worst. At the cries of battle, he moved to protect Ilse and her cubs. "I am loyal to the Shannara!" And if Ilse was loyal to the pride, so was he.

User Image
Reinmund stood at his father's side, not liking this one bit. There were priests missing and...Wait. His green eyes narrowed at his older half-sister, frown deepening. What was she up to...well s**t. His ears went back and a growl raised in his throat. He joined his nephew, brother, and mother, claws out. "My loyalties lie with the pride." And any who sought to sow death and dis-ease in the pride would find him hard to get through. He was NOT a soft noble.

User Image
No. Nonononono! This couldn't be happening! Gaëlle managed to keep herself from hyperventilating as the fighting started, and moved herself to protect her daughters, looking to her mate. "We have to get the girls away!" Despite her loyalty to the pride, she would NOT have one of her daughters harmed! How could this have happened?! "Terema! A way out!" The falcon nodded and took to the skies, seeking safe passage for the Duchess and her family.

User Image
Éimhear had been waiting. She'd been the only Laghairt to make it to the mainland for this meeting...but that was fine. They were as loyal to the cause as she was. When Meiah gave the signal, the cheetah gave a loud cry. "We will stand for oppression no longer! We shall be free!" ******** the nobles!

User ImageHolodnogo'Dusha, or S, frowned slightly, his blue eyes cold and darkened. He had suspected that this moment was coming. He was an intelligent cheetah, and would not be able to call himself such had he not noticed what was going on around him. Though the sight of his fellow priest's bodies would remain with him after this night, it was only one more dark image held in his mind - he would cope, he would survive, and he would do his duty.

The fires of rebellion were most definitely lit. Fools, all of them. Did they not see that such a fire was as uncontrollable as one caused by lightning? That it could, and would, burn rebels and loyalists alike? He was not so young as some, and his view on life was cynical at best, but he knew when risks were worth taking... and when the cost would outweigh the benefits.

Most of all, he knew precisely which side he was loyal to...

...And it was not with those who dared to raise tooth and claw against their rulers. His decision had been made; now the time for him to prove his worth had truly come. He would do what he must in this situation, and if it meant stand and fight against the rebels, then fight he would.

His loyalty to the pride would never waver.

(Rolls are for Jokull and Hametsu only.)

Jokull had been mostly uninterested in the meeting when it was called, going only because Gaëlle had insisted, and ushered their daughters along. He took the rear, keeping the cubs between he and his mate. His interest (and wariness) was only aroused once the dead bodies of H and O were revealed. Suddenly, he was fully in soldier-mode once again, alert and ready. And when all hell broke loose...he moved to protect his family. Gaëlle wasn't trained for this at all. He was. "We'll get them out of here, Gaëlle." And he struck out at any rebel trying to block their way. "Idiots! You've placed your loyalty in a madwoman!"

Bahr Altair watched the proceedings from the edges, every nerve on edge. s**t! This was NOT good! This was the wrong sort of rebellion! The leopard turned and made his way away from the fighting, towards where he knew Master Quatre would be. He would want to know of H's death by the madwoman, and that things had gotten very bad.

Hametsu Shannara knew her sister was uneasy. It wasn't hard to tell from the way her twin kept so close to her. And that put her on edge. And when the fighting broke out, she was ready. Well...she was ALWAYS ready for a fight, but she'd realized what was going on the moment Mah'Rie'Meiah had shown the dead bodies of the priests. She wasn't as stupid as she let people think she was. She moved to defend her twin and mother, teeth and claws bared. "The pride thrives only when whole!"

Rerena had come to the meeting simply because it was her duty. She was a leader as well, and it was only right she know what was going on. She had NOT been expecting to have two missing priests presented dead. Nor a rebellion break out. The Sanc's Crown Princess suddenly wished she'd taken up Lahr's offer of an escort as she moved away from the fighting as best she could. This wasn't right! "We shouldn't be fighting! Rebellion will only lead to needless deaths!" She prayed the fighting did not spill over into her peaceful bit of the pride.

Etihad looked stricken as the bodies of H and O were presented, watching the female whom killed them with a look of horror and disgust. The Barutono clan had always been insane-- but this was the most proof presented since Dekim. Treize was ruthless, but the young noble hadn't killed for little reason... At least, not like Meiah. S spoke before him and he nodded to the priest, moving to stand beside the fellow priest.

"The will of Wing Zero remains by the pride."

Shinsei had often been quiet, hiding until Sere was summoned in the dead of night. The dark green female had shadowed the other, though spying the slain forms of the priests-- the colonies deserved equality but the woman was crazy!

Shinsei leapt to shield Sere bodily when fighjting broke out, snarling furiously as she delicately batted at enemies.

"YOU FREAKING NUTCASES!"

If Klena wasn't present as a soldier, she would've done nothing to act seeing the gathering, but she had... And she recognized her mate's mentor on sight. The male had been a good soul, kind even to Sanc refugees and his loss was great. She watched the Maganauc present depart and disregarded who saw her, joining the fighting, trying to help noncombatants flee. Her love and pride were more important than her own safety.

User ImageYofiel had only arrived back at the pride a day or so ago, having finally made up her mind that she wished to visit Etihad again. The thing was when she had gotten here she was also tossing around the idea of staying with the fluffy priest. He was charming and wonderful company, plus he seemed to like her nearly as much as she did him. It might be the only chance for a mate she ever got, and she certainly could not think of a nicer male to have that chance with off paw.

When the pride meeting had been called, she of course followed Etihad to it, trying to blend in as if she belonged there. Even if she did not stay she certainly did not want to stick out in this mess. She had gotten only a brief description of what was going on from the priest. It was more than enough for her to be glued to his side though. This was madness to have a pride fighting each other like this.

There were plenty of rogues that did this kind of thing, but that was why they were ROGUES usually. One did not join a pride and stay in it by causing needless death of one's pridemates. Yofiel made up her mind as soon as things got ugly. She was staying in the pride to protect Etihad if nothing else. He was HER male as far as she was concerned, her friend if nothing else, and she was not letting any harm come to him. She stepped up beside the priest. "My loyalty is with Etihad." She made herself ready to protect him and his interests at every cost.

Sere had told the Makkusuwerus to stay behind when the summons came. He couldn't risk them if this was because they'd been found out. He'd known Shinsei was following him (when was she NOT, the annoying girl), but paid no mind. Treize wasn't the only one to notice the missing priests. Sere started worrying the moment he couldn't find the priests who had been his mentor's allies.

And then Meiah revealed herself, and what had been done. The cheetah's hackles were up and his ears back. They had to get out of there. Before they met H and O's fate. His mentor's family line had to be warned. And then...the other two remaining priests decided to go with 'solidarity'. Dammit. He bat at Shinsei and motioned for her to follow him as he made his way to the other priests. "This rebellion will hurt the innocent more than the guilty.
Deathscythe's will remains with the pride, not with those who would harm the innocent."

User Image
Meleth couldn't believe her ears. She'd known unrest had been stirring, but this...this was MADNESS! The crazy woman had killed two HOLY MEN. She bristled, looking to Circe, then back to the rising rebels. "Shall we defend our pride, sister dearest?" This was COMPLETELY out of balance, this rebellion!

User Image User Image
Twin leopons looked on as things deteriorated, the female shaking a bit. Nononono...the pride shouldn't be fighting one another! That wasn't right! The male of the pair stood defense in front of his twin, hackles raised, teeth and claws bared, and his red eyes narrowed. "Our loyalties lie with the pride who took us in!" He would forever be loyal to the pride, even if he was 'just a colonist'. They'd accepted him, and his twin sister had been well taken care of when he'd reunited with her.

Ani'ma nodded, eyes scanning for any cubs. She was a Nanny! And any cubs in the gathering would be at risk!
Like her brother, her heart lay with the pride...but for different reasons.

Knowing they were outnumbered, his only concern was reaching Maidin. Ducking under the swinging paw of one of the mainlanders, he jumped the fallen body of another and dived through gaps he shouldn't have been able to fit through. He felt claws and teeth tear at his fur but he ignored them, not even feeling the blood that trickled from the slash across his hip.

Finally, after shoving his way through half the pride, he finally made it to where Maidin still stood, her eyes wide and fearful, in full reach of the fighting pride. Panting he moved in front of her, his flank angled towards the closest brawlers protectively. "Maidin ... Maidin ..." He kept his voice as soft and as calm as he could, despite the desperately raising fear for her safety that was threatening to chock his throat. Searching her face for any recognition, he could only hope she realised who he was and that he wasn't going to hurt her. "Come on.... we need to get you out of here.."

Maidin brought her eyes up to look at him, her blank stare showing she still was in shock from the violence that had irrupted around her. She turned to look one way and then another at the twisting, tangled, screaming bodies that seemed to be flying at them and around them.

Her jeweled beryl eyes looked over to his hip, one delicate paw lifting to touch the blood, coating the toe tips of it. She frowned as her gaze swept over the sticky, crimson, liquid. There was confusion in her voice as she whispered softly, " You're bleeding...you're hurt...you're fighting...everyone's fighting..."

The confusion turned to hurt, deep and biting, as betrayal was felt for the first time, as disappointment and bitterness, new emotions to her, colored her expression.

Backing away from him, her words were soft, trembling things, " You used me, used me to get close to my family, to what I knew...to everything...you..used me..and I let you....," she turned her face away from him, as all her dreams shattered, " I am
loyal to the Prime Minster ...and at least I will die by a paw I know."

Trathnóna froze on the spot as she stared at him, then at the blood that streaked his fur. The minor wounds were nothing strange to him, but he had forgotten.. she was so sheltered, so delicate... Fearful for her safety he watched her, desperate to hurry her along but something... something stopped him..

Then she spoke, moved away from him, retreated from him like he was some kind of monster. Pain blossomed in his chest, cutting of his breath, it felt like those claws hadn't scoured his fur, but the very heart of him, rending it open and bleeding at her feet. Shaking his head, first mutely then with a fervent "No!" he desperately wanted to take her against him, to hold her safe for all eternity.

"No. I promise. I have not used you.. I love you Maidin." Pain closed his throat, blocked the sound of battle from his ears as he watched her with regret filled, pained eyes. Swallowing back the lump in his throat, he stepped forwards, slowly, trying not to scare her. "Its not safe here..." His voice was gentle, pitched low and calming for her. "I can't see you hurt.. please... come with me...." Moving to her side, wincing as someone's claws flayed open his fur along his outer flank, he kept his body firmly between her and those closest to them. "Come away from here.... I can take you home..."

Now young Mazai had been raised in this pride, proud to have been even just a colonist. But something within her had changed as she'd grown older. Her cold, calculating nature had become even more so, and her heart had become hardened. It didn't help that her mother was Shinigami herself, and Duo was her uncle. Nonetheless, Mazai had forged her own path, working hard towards becoming that mysterious rank known only as a perfect soldier. Her paws carried her swiftly through the crowded group of Lions, her cool green eyes watching as she somehow easily managed to dodge between lion after lion.

She knew where her paws lead her, and were it not for the logic in her head fighting it back, determination would have rang through in her eyes, her lips pulled back in a snarl. She would not allow another lion to hurt the innocents. Though she was proud to be one lioness struggling to free the colonies, rash decisions usually ended up pissing the young female off, and when she was angry, she knew only one way to channel it, and that was in a well-calculated fight. For now, the femme would be more than proud to say that
she was a loyal Ardhi member.

Coeur was surprised at what had happened in what seemed a matter of minutes. Her mother and father were ushering her and her sister away from the war that was breaking out all around them. Despite being very courageous, Coeur found herself the most scared she had been in her whole entire life. "Daddy, why are they fighting?" She asked with a scared tone. Tears were welling up in her eyes as she pressed herself against her mother, making sure her sister was in front of her. Even though she didn't understand what was happening, she knew her love for her pride would help carry her through whatever was to come next.
