I'm just interested in how hardcore this guild is. XD A nice poll to accompany the discussion too!

I'm currently casual loli, I think, though I dress fully lolita on some weekends when I go shopping. But I dress in "normal" clothes quite often, too. I'm a bit lazy to dress up every day cool

im not very lolita... i like it, but its not my favorite style. i have a few semi-lolita items, but i rarely wear them anymore x___x i think my mini-tiara has been collecting dust. though, i am far more into kodona and usually dress like that at least once a week and incorporate elements of kodona into almost everything.

ohh... *hugs*

Currently I'm pretty casual, but I'm aiming to dress more loli. I only have a few lolita cloths right now, but I plan on making or buying more.

I don't consider myself "Lolita" entirely. I look too old for the style to be entirely appropriate, anyway, and rarely have the time to pull it all together properly.

Anyway. The frills only come out if I'm in the right mood, it's a special occasion, or I've run out of other things to wear [like Friday. That was a fun day. Oh man. You wouldn't believe the bizarre layering combinations you can come up with when you're out of clean shirts].

It's mostly because of the fact that, here, it's generally rather inclimate towards Lolita-wear. Skirts get blown around violently when you hit the McClain building [I swear that that building and the library create a wind tunnel], most of my garb is too thin for winter [it snowed yesterday and today!], corsets and nice, lace-trimmed shirts are impractical in the fine arts department where you paint and use charcoal on a daily basis and most of the labs disallow all but "practical" footwear [read: tennis shoes or work/hiking boots] due to the fact that there could be fire, heavy objects or mess involved with working there.

This semester, I've been a bit more Lolita-esque in my attire than usual [only barely, though], in spite of the cold. There are days that I just toss on the frilly shirt and corset or lace-trimmed skirt and ribbons for the hell of it-- generally on those rare, warm days or days I've, again, run dry on "normal" garments-- because I'm less and less often in the wet/mess media labs. There have also been a few days when I went all out with it, but those are rare.

i have about two Extremely lolita outfits.. but the rest are black jeans, t-shirts, skirts, dress shirt type of stuff... i'm working on dressing lolita 24/7. but i can't even afford mittens at the dollar store to keep my hands warm. so.. its not exactly a priority at the moment.. sweatdrop

I would be a casual lolita right now, but I rather wish to dress more.... hardcore lolita (for lack of a better term). I guess I'm still kinda transitioning. Plus the fact that it's a b***h to find decent clothes (much less lolita styled clothes) in my size that aren't horribly over priced. Although frilly and femmy are becoming more mainstream (as much as we all hate to admit it) so it's becoming much easier to find things at Lane Bryant and the such ^^ (speaking of which, I saw the most ADORABLE shirt there today ;___; probly costs way more than I have, but it's something to work towards)

I consider the term "hardcore" laughable, mostly because of an inside joke my friend and I have. Someone said that she thinks she's hardcore because she has a bass, whereas she's kind of a preppy person, and they think only punk/goth looking people should have one.. i guess. and when I got a guitar, we considered ourselves THE most hardcore people of the schooll. cool

On to the topic though.
I dont think i'm very lolita. Especially since it's winter. But I should try the "casual" look you listed in the poll more. It's something I always consider in the morning, but don't do it. I really hate shaving my legs. mad I know it's not very nice to say it, but i do. I should get that laser removal stuff! xd So which is why I probably don't wear many skirts to begin with. :/

I have always saved my money up for the main purpose of buying Lolita clothing, i just need to get appropriate skirts and some boots then i think i will be compfortable with wearing it out.
And since i've passed my driving test i've made a promise to myself that i would wear lolita more because i am driving (means i don't get insults thrown at me).
It's also very extreme weather here in England, when it's winter it's soo cold but in the summer it's so hot whee so it's just a case of getting all of the right stuff and waiting for spring to come along..my and my friend Debbie are going to organise a pirate day out on the beach biggrin i can't wait!

I'm in the middle of transitiong to EGL from Victorian Goth, because I felt that the goth lifestyle had become too "trendy", and I wasn't an individual anymore. So I guess I come across more EGA at the moment. But I have a few good Loli outfits now, and I dress up as either EGL or EGA every time I go out. When I'm just lounging at home though, it's much more casual. I almost never dress in "normal" outfits anymore though 4laugh

I can't say that I have a problem with shaving my legs (hate me for being just enough asian that I don't have that much body hair), but if you wear opaque tights, would it cover it up? I know I hate the way my legs look, so that's what I do a lot. Or (especially since it's winter) I wear tight fitting leggings/pant...things (they're not really pants cause they're meant to wear under regular pants like long underwear or whatever) Just get a solid color (usually does black) and wear it under a skirt.

heh... and hardcore -is- a funny word... it's kinda why I hesitated in using it, but my mind was drawing a blank ^^;;

I couldn't think of a better work than hardcore either.. saying "real lolita" kind of sounds like casual isn't real lolita, which is poop in my opinion.

Opaque socks and tights are your friend! I'm pretty lazy too when it comes to shaving, but i always wear come cute opaque knee-highs or tights with my lolita skirts.

I only own a few dresses from Japan (two Lolita dresses, and one EGA dress), but I don't wear them often for fear of ruining them. And especially because that's only a few. I don't have the money to buy more. >_>;

So yeah, most of the time I just dress "casual loli."

Actually, as of lately I've been trying to dress fruitsy on occasion too. It's just as fun. xD

I am casual lolita more often than I care. I have a few dresses that I wear quite often, if I had more dresses, I would never dress casual lolita.
