The world:
In the 1950s, bioengineers created the T4 Angel tomato. Unfortunately for the world, and for them, the T4 Angel tomato carried what would soon be called the T4 Angel virus, and more than 2/3s of humanity was wiped out.
In addition to this great shock, there was the aptly named 'Turn'. The other beings who had shared the human's world finally felt it was time to come out of the closet as it were. Much to the shock of the humans, vampires, witches, werewolves, banshees, gargoyles, pixies, faeries, and many more creatures came out of the woodwork.

Racial Information. Witches: Witches, like most of the Inderlanders (non humans), are physiologically a different species than humans. They can pull magic directly from Ley lines, which are concentrated rivers of energy running throughout the earth, or use plants to create potions.Classifications:
Earth Witches: They work primarily with potions and amulets. Their magic is slower, but has a bigger, more permanent effect.Ley Line Witches: They work primarily with raw energy from a line. Their magic is more flexible, and immediate, but mostly works with illusion. Physical effects are minor compared to Earth Magic. White Witches: Do not harm anything but plants in their spells.Black Witches: Will harm anyone and anything to power their spells.Vampires: Vampires have pheromones which induce a pseudo desire in people, witches, etc. Their pupils expand when bloodlust is evident, and they can move faster, and are stronger, than most other races. They are driven by instinct. The smell of another person mingling with their own scent is almost guaranteed to drive them to violence. So does the smell of fear or desire, or physical confrontation. They have a complex social structure. Camarillas form, with a master (very old and very dead) vampire at the top of the hierarchy, and the rest of the clan serving them. Classifications:Ghoul: A human who has been turned by an undead vampire. Considered the lowest of the low in vampire society, they are nothing but a toy to whichever undead turned them.Living Vampire: Born to vampire parents, living vampires are like the prince and princesses of vampire culture. Envied by their dead brethren for their ability to walk under the sun, and envied by ghouls for their vampiric abilities. They possess their soul, and therefore have a conscience. They absolutely need permission to take blood, or they will think they blood raped someone even if they cut themselves and bleed into the vampire's mouths. Undead: An evil, soulless type of vampire which cannot step onto blessed ground, walk in the sun, or feel remorse. Evil, ruthless, and selfish to the extreme. Living vampires automatically become undead upon their death. They are the only ones who can turn people into vampires.Elves: Thought to be extinct by the rest of Inderland, Elves are just as magical as witches. Their magic is wilder, and they do some things better, and some things worse, than witches can.Classifications:Pureblood Elf: 100% elf, no human blood. Very rare.Common Elf: Possess a percentage of human blood. Many elven families chose to interbreed with humans to increase their chances of having a healthy child. This backfired during the turn, when their human blood allowed them to be affected by the T4 Angel virus.Werewolves: Werewolves are not able to turn humans in this world. They can change at will, no matter the time of month, but the change is very painful if rushed. A slow change will sting. A minute long change will cause crippling pain. They are very superstitious, and will not invade the sanctuary of a church, even an abandoned one.Classifications:Alpha: Alpha's are born alpha. You cannot become an alpha if you are not already one. They possess a great deal of agression, which is tempered by a great deal of self control. There is an alpha male and an alpha female in every pack. Any alpha can be challenged. If defeated, the victor becomes the pack's alpha.Lone: An alpha wolf who has no desire to start a pack, nor join one. Under Weres ( wink ): The other weres have a complex social structure which closely resembles a wolf pack. Everyone has a place, everyone is either above or below the others, and everyone knows exactly who is above and below them.Demons: Demons and Elves have be at war since the dawns of their races. They hate each other with a passion. Because of this, the demons cursed the elves into the Ever After, an alternate reality which closely resembles hell. However, this backfired when the demons were unable to escape this new reality they'd made. They flung themselves back to the real world, creating the Ley Lines, but were unable to escape it entirely. When the sun rises, they are pulled back to the Ever After whether sunlight touches them or not. They must be summoned to reality to cross, or so everyone thinks, and they are pretty much all evil, self serving, crazy, or all of the above. Usually all of the above. They deal in black magic, using humans, witches, or elves like toys. They pawn off the smut on their familiar, darkening their souls beyond redemption before killing them if and when something better comes along. Many bargain and trick humans/witches/elves who seek knowledge. They can mark people, each mark representing a piece of the person's soul that the demon owns. The mark is a circle with a line through it. Each line is one third of the soul. Three strikes and you're out. smile Pixies: Roughly four inches tall, pixies are fierce creatures. They are able to 'pix' someone...Which is showering pixie dust onto someone. It causes a severe itching like a really bad case of poison ivy wherever it touches. Unless the person is sensitive to it, in which case it spreads everywhere. They have the best nose of any Inderland species, able to smell emotions, hear the phone before it rings, and even smell whether or not someone is pregnant. They can instantly tell what type of inderlander a person is. They are terrific gardeners, and are mostly vegetarian. They eat nectar and pollen, except in early winter. In early winter they might eat a fish or some bugs to stock up on protein before their hibernation. They are very fertile, usually having as few as 10, and as much as 60 children. They live 20 years at most. They are fiercely protective of their gardens, and will kill without mercy to protect it. They despise faeries, and view them much as humans view cockroaches. With disgust, contempt, and a bit of hate when exposed to them. They will kill any faery they see near their garden, though they might let a pixy pass through uncontested...as long as they don't poach their nectar. They mate for life. Pixies have dragonfly wings.Faeries: About six inches tall, with sharp teeth. They primarily feed on insects, and their wings destroy the plants in a garden as they search for food. They have butterfly wings, and have many of the same abilities as pixies. They live about the same amount of time, have the same fertility, and also mate for life. They also hate pixies.

Ley Lines: Lines of concentrated magical energy which exist everywhere in the world.
Camarilla: A vampire clan.
Blood Rape: The act of drinking one's blood without permission. It is considered very wrong by living vampires.
Inderland: The supernatural world. This includes all species other than human.
Inderlander: A supernatural being.
Circle: A protective orb which can only be broken by the person who casts it...or a demon.
Demon Mark: A mark which signifies that the demon owns 1/3 of your soul for each line through the circle.

Character profiles: Gaia Username: dark_aoekae Character Name: Vanessa Trilell Race: Living Vamp Age: 27 Affiliation: IS Gender: female Personality: Like most living vampires, she is touchy feely, and has a deep understanding of her own sex appeal. She is serious much of the time, but can laugh and tease with those she trusts. This happens rarely, though. She doesn't trust many. With other living vampires, she tends to be more open, but only to those in her camarilla. With the dead? Like any smart person, she shows them respect and tries to avoid situations where she is exposed to them. Bio:Her father is undead, and her mother is his primary, but not only, source of blood. She is from a line of vampires that goes back a hundred years or more, but her family isn't quite as prestigious or well known as the Tamwood vamps. Her father, like most vampires, had a multipartner relationship despite being married to her mother. His mistresses, along with Vanessa's mother, supply blood to him. She has an older brother and one younger sister. She has had some bad experiences with her master vampire, but counts herself lucky that he never took a marked interest in her. Likes: Fighting, taking down vampires who prey on the underage, and orange juice. Dislikes: Being a slave to her instinct, humans in general, and FIB agents who insist on thinking she is an animal because she's not human. Other: She is extremely loyal to her family. She is not above a coverup...Vampires have their own rules, after all. Gaia Username: dark_aoekae Character Name: Aoni Race: Witch (Black Ley line witch, but has extensive earth magic skills aswell.) Age: 40 Affiliation: IS, Highspire Cult Gender: female Personality: Like most black witches, Aoni is extremely arrogant. She just 'knows' that she can outsmart and control the demons she summons. After all, none of them have made her a familiar yet, now have they? She's bossy, arrogant, ambitious, and very coldhearted. When outside the cult, she has learned to assume a persona much unlike her true personality. Many who don't know her well think she is a demure, kind girl with a touch of shyness. Bio: Her father was also a black witch, as was her mother. She doesn't really feel much attachments to them. Her mother was captured by a demon when she was six years old. She assumes that her mother is a familiar, but truly doesn't care. Her father once asked her what she felt about her mother. Her response? "She must have been quite stupid." She is currently working in the IS as a good little gopher in the Arcane Division. She passes along certain information occasionally, but no one really ever knows if shes telling the truth. She's not above letting another cult member go to jail to further her place in the cult, though she prefers more permanent solutions. Likes: Power, money, and being underestimated. The color pink, frilly dresses, and bows...and anything else that allows people to underestimate her. Dislikes: Acting serious, though in many ways her thoughts are devoid of humor. Cats. Anyone who she perceives as less intelligent than herself. Which is pretty much everyone. Other: She likes to play the bubbleheaded flirt, and many, even those who know her well, don't know how smart she really is. She dyes streaks in her blond hair, frequently in funky colors. Gaia Username: Dark_Aoekae Character Name: Balindareptas. Dare, to his friends. Race: Demon Age: 10,542...give or take a few years. Affiliation: Himself, of course. Gender: Male, though he sometimes takes female form. Personality: Dare can be quite charming. When he is? Be very afraid. He can seem quite kind. This is an act. He can be quite reasonable. But when he is, its usually an act. He is a familiar broker, and as such he is frequently summoned by black witches and others who hope to come away from the deal with their souls intact. Bio: I'm sorry, he doesn't do backstory. Suffice to say, he's been snagging familiars for the last few thousand years. He trains them up and sells them, though he is always on the lookout for something better for himself. Likes: The satisfaction that comes from crushing a foolish witch, human, or elf's hopes and dreams. Earth coffee...doesn't everyone? Possession. The sun looks so much prettier without the red sheen of the ever after. Breaking a new familiar's spirit completely. The art of lying while telling the truth. Dislikes: Being summoned, though he puts up with it to ensure his continued luxury in the ever after. Humans. Elves. Witches. Pixies. Other: His summoning name is disgustingly well known. He probably gets more nightly summons than any other demons. He's a busy man. Gaia Username: Dea and #Teddy# Character Name: Sophia Leroy Race: Living Vampire Age: 25 Affiliation: Inderland Security Gender: female Personality: Sophia is one of those kind-hearted individuals, hating to see anyone or anything being hurt at all. She is very smart, having always stunned the tutors and other instructors her parents have hired for her education. She can seem a little quiet at first, but to those she trusts, she is quite a warm person. She will stand up for her loved ones, though sometimes it will be in a very quiet way. When she thinks of the people who commit blood rape, it makes her sick to her stomach because like most living vampires, she thinks it is very uncalled for. She also loves being able to do many of the things that humans can do, not being restricted by the rules of the undead. Her parents have taught her to respect everyone, even those that are not like them. She is also a hopeless romantic, loving the idea that just about everyone has some guy or girl out there for them. Bio: Sophia was born to two living parents, so she was considered very high in status. Her family goes back about four hundred years, so they are not as old as some of the other vampire families, but they have held their own over the years. Since they are so respected in the community, Sophia was never in need of everything, always getting anything she could want or need. She was taught by some of the best teachers in the world and she was blessed with a loving family and wonderful friends. She joined the IS when she was nineteen and has loved it ever since because she gets to help others. Likes: Reading, helping others, spending time with her family and friends, roses, ice cream, and animals. Dislikes: Needles, evil people, being alone, things happening to her loved ones, and excessive violence. Other: She would never do something underhanded to get what she wants, that's not her way. Gaia Username: Dea and #Teddy# Character Name: Lucinda Lilyton Race: Witch (White Earth magic, but also knows quite a bit of White Ley line magic as well.) Age: 20 Affiliation: Civilian Gender: female Personality: Lucy can seem very innocent sometimes, not totally understanding the dangers around her. She tries to see the good in everyone, but is slowly starting to see that there are some people who take delight in hurting others. She is also very loyal to her loved ones, wanting to help them in anyway she can, as long as it doesn't hurt others. She is also very strong in her magic, especially loving spells that heals others and makes them feel good. She is seen as a good listener, willing to sit and talk with people who need an ear. She is a shoulder to cry on, always willing to comfort people who need it. Bio: Lucy's parents are both white witches, her mother specializing in Earth magic and her father specializing in Ley line magic. So ever since the day she was old enough to walk, her parents have been training her in both specialties. She seemed to have more an affinity to the Earth magic, like her mother, but she was pretty good with Ley line. She grew up in the comforts of her family's home, never really knowing much about the dangers of the world outside. She had personal teachers who would come to the house and teach her, never really needing to go outside of the walls of the family home. Now that she is older, she wants to learn more about the world and the kinds of creatures that inhabit it. So she has set out on her own journey, so that she can gain the knowledge that she seeks. Likes: Nature, her family, learning new things, exploring, reading, and her magic. Dislikes: Dark magic, being alone, not knowing about something, and rude people. Other: She doesn't know much about the world, since this is her first time away from home.

Lucinda Lilyton- The Innocent White Witch A beautiful girl with sandy brown hair had just arrived in a village, one she had never been before. Her green eyes drank in all of the sights and sounds around her, seeming to twinkle with excitement. She wondered where she should begin, since there seemed to be so much to do in this place. She gently bit her lower lip nervously, trying to finally make a decision about where she was going to go. She saw some people walking into a building nearby, so she decided it would be a good place to start.
Lucy walked towards the building and when she arrived, she pushed open the front door and looked around. It looked like what her parents had called a tavern, though she wasn't exactly sure what one of those were. She tried to think back on the lessons her parents had given her before she had set out and then remembered something about a tavern being a place to get something to drink...at least she thought that was what they got in a tavern. She stood to the side of the building, nervously trying to figure out what she was supposed to do.

Dare smiled softly from inside the bar, watching the pretty little witch as she entered. He loved white witches. They were so much easier to tempt than they thought. He tugged his shirt up to cover the scent amulet which hid his demonic smell from passerby. It wasn't quite time to return to the ever after...he had a few hours yet. It wouldn't do any harm to seduce the little witch. A charming smile on his face, he walked casually up to her.
"Hello. Can I buy you a drink?"

Lucinda Lilyton- The Innocent White Witch Lucinda nearly jumped as she heard a voice speak beside her and looked over to see who could have wanted to buy her a drink. She sized up the man, wondering why she had not seen him before, then realized she had probably been too pre-occupied.
"I suppose I could use something to drink, sir, but I am not sure what I want. Perhaps a water would be quite nice, if you wouldn't mind. Thank you very kindly for buying me something to quench my thirst,"Lucy spoke softly to him.

Dare's smile widened as she started and turned to him. Ah, an innocent. How delightful. It will be such fun to break her...
"Wonderful. If you're unsure, the coffee is also very good here."
He turned to a nearby waiter and inclined his head. "A water, please, for this beautiful young miss, and a coffee for me. Latte grande, double espresso, Italian blend. Light on the froth, extra cinnamon. Use whole milk, not two percent or half and half. Whole milk. Put it in porcelain."
A charming smile made his obsessive compulsive order seem entirely reasonable. His voice was pleasant and didn't seem rude in the least.

Lucinda Lilyton- The Innocent White Witch Lucinda listened to his order as he ordered himself a coffee and she blushed lightly when he smiled in her direction. She took a deep breath, trying to gather herself and keep herself from allowing this man to make her put her guard down.
"I think I will stick to my water, thank you, it is very healthy for me. I am not really a fan of coffee, I just don't like the taste,"Lucy explained as gently as she could. Her father drank coffee and the smell always seemed a little disgusting to her.

He shrugged amiably and pulled out a chair for her, still smiling softly. He had the air of a charming and cheerful man, honesty and goodness seeming to escape from his very pores.
"That's good. Water is quite healthy. Many don't drink enough of it." He sheepishly ran a hand through his hair, seeming embarrassed. "But, uh, I'm sure you already knew that." He looked away as though embarrassed, then glanced over as the waiter brought their drinks over. He took the drinks from the tray and set them down near their perspective chairs.

Lucinda Lilyton- The Innocent White Witch Lucinda sat down gracefully in the chair that the man pulled out for her and gently smiled to him. She listened to what he had to say about people not drinking enough water, then she sadly shook her head.
"No, I must confess, I did not know people did not drink enough water. I am used to drinking a lot, so I thought people in the outside world probably did to. I have lived a pretty sheltered life, so I don't really know much about the world around me. I just know what I have learned in books and things that happened at home,"Lucy answered.

He smiled sheepishly, a grateful smile full of warmth.
"Yeah, too many people are drinking soda and other things..." He trailed off as though realizing how boring that train of thought might be and sat down with another charming smile.
"What brings you to Cincinnati? Are you getting your earth magic degree? Or your ley line?" His smile widened.
"A sheltered life? How charming. Far too many are exposed to too many things. Your lack of cynicism is very refreshing."

Lucinda Lilyton- The Innocent White Witch Lucinda looked thoughtful for a moment, trying to think of how best to explain why she was here.
"Well, I suppose it is best to explain my purpose here as an explorer, wanting to learn more about the world. I am already quite gifted in both forms of magic, though I am stronger in the Earth magic. My parents taught me both forms since I was a little girl, so I guess I just kind of absorbed them. They are so much a part of me and I love my magic,"Lucy replied.

He smiled again, leaning forward intently as he listened with all his attention. He seemed like an earnest young man, and it was obvious he was just as interested in magic as she was.
"Oh, I agree entirely. I am my magic, my magic is me. Without it, I don't know what I'd do. I'm a ley line witch myself...I work in weather control over at the Howlers. But I still enjoy earth magic. I like transforming, and it's far too expensive to buy potions..."
