Shotacon (ショタコン) (also Shota ショタ, and commonly misspelled Shouta) is a Japanese and anime term for a sexual complex where an adult is attracted to an underage boy. Shota typically refers to male characters under 13 years of age. But in practice, this definition has expanded to include any young male characters who are considered child-like or cute. Because shotacon art tends to emphasize cuteness, common themes are yaoi (boy with boy), cross dressing, or even incest with an older brother or sister, or relative. Because most shotacon characters are bishōnen, classically the fetish is identified with yaoi. However, straight shotacon is sometimes seen.  I myself am I Shota fan. (Though not so much of RAPE Shota) But a lot of people have serious problems with it. Which I understand. It does seem like *****, but these are just cartoons right? Real 8 year old's don't really act that way (OR are nearly as hot). Your thoughts?

I have seen some, mainly in japanese so i had no idea what was going on.
I basically looked at the images xd
But i see no problem with it, same as i see no problem with any creative media.
But its probably a problem when life imitates art.
I dont find them cute, i find them a litte strange and odd.
But i have no problems with it at all.

hm.....it depends on the art really. I don't like heavy yaoi shota stuff if you get that... The hard yaoi I read is saved for teenage boys rofl
ANYWAY! I don't have a problem with it. Not the biggest fan, but don't hate it >_O.

Shota makes me uncomfortable, but at the same time I don't have a problem -anymore- with seeing Mokuba form YGO slashed (does this make me a hyporcite sweatdrop ) maily because he seems more mature than merely 11-12 {Seto's 16-17 and Mokuba's five years below him}. It's like you said the charaters are little chilren, not even at puberty yet or barely there. I do understand that it isn't real but do worry about it nontheless. But I do suport the freedom of the artists to draw it and the fans to enjoy it if they keep their fetish from RL children.

It can depend. Sometimes, it just weirds me out. There are some times when it's okay. There's this one comic, Sublunary (awesome), that has a 19/13 couple. That isn't so drastic. But, an adult and say, an 8 year old, is too much for my tastes.

It actually depends I think. I've only come across one or two so far so I can't really say for sure. But I dont think I'd mind if it's cute. Although...if it's someone OLD with like an 8 year old ... that's kinda of disturbing = =;;
So is it Shotacon or Shoutacon?

its kinda creepy...i watched the first 3 episodes of loveless and the whole time it was a bit creepy...the blond was so hot but because he kept wanting the little boy he reminded me of a ***** it took away from his hottness lol...its not my thing but whatever, i like yaoi and i dont like it when ppl dis my thing so i just leave it alone and keep my opnions to myself 3nodding
