It was obvious that both Melody and Olivia were excited to go to the beach. They were so excited in fact, that Melody didn’t even notice them arrive and Olivia was sound asleep next to her. Melody just happened to be far more occupied with her two pet fuzzykin then anything else going on around her. She didn’t even notice they had arrived, till after Vilyum had stopped and unloaded the 3 chairs, blanket, towels, a large bag, and an ice chest. “Wake up Livy, we are here,” Melody exclaimed as she lightly shook Olivia’s arm.

“What? Where are we?” Olivia asked through a yawn and still half asleep.

“We are at the beach!”

“Oh, ok,” she replied as she rubbed her eyes.

They both unbuckled their seat belts and then Melody pushed open her door and hopped out, slamming it shut after her two fuzzykin flew out. Olivia stretched both arms over her head, and then pushed open the car door. Grabbing her mana wyrm, Mystral, she hopped out of the car, landing on all 4 feet. Holding Mystral close with her right arm, she shut the door gently with her left. Arms fully loaded, Vilyum inquired, “You two ready?”

“Yes, daddy,” Melody replied as Olivia nodded mid yawn.

“Ok, let’s go. Oh, and Melody, if you take your shoes off, carry them with you till we put everything down, ok?”

“Ok, daddy,” she answered back, already starting to take them off. She quickly finished and took hold of them as they made their way over the lukewarm sand to the water.

As they passed from the sidewalk that separated the parking area from the sand, Melody jumped forward, both feet plopping into the sand. After squeezing the sand between her toes, she skittered forward to find a good spot to set up as a base. Olivia, on the other hand, slowly put one paw in the sand. She felt in carefully, scratching at it slightly before putting her second front paw in. Slowly making her way forward, she placed each of her hind paws in, one at a time. After getting all 4 paws in, she paused for a moment, and then took off after her sister. Vilyum, his arms packed full of supplies, brought up the rear.

Once he had caught up to the spot that Melody had picked out, he set everything down. While Vilyum set up the three chairs, Melody and Olivia spread out the beach blanket. After grabbing a soda from the ice chest, Vilyum sat down in the center chair and asked, "So what do you two want to do first?"

Melody replied, "Go into the water!"

Olivia added, "Yeah, the water!"

With a laugh, Vilyum stated, "Ok, the water it is." At that he took a quick drink, set the soda down, and then stood up to make his way to the water, Melody and Olivia in close pursuit.

"We are going t' the beach today," Mhairi announced to Dorian, having marched right up to her brother without even considering he might have plans or anything. She looked around his tiny bedroom irritably, unable to understand why she couldn't have her sla-brother stay in her room. It made far more sense in her mind anyways.

Dorian looked up from the book he was looking at. "Th' beach? Bu' I was-"

"No. You are going t' th' beach with me. Any of your plans are unimportan' an' can be done later unless they involve Kai. Understood?" Mhairi asked, tone venomous. Even after being with the man for so long, she still refused to call him dad or daddy or anything else similar in meaning outside of his immediate presence. She smirked as Dorian heaved a soft sigh and nodded, setting aside his book to gather up his towel and slip on some sandals before following her off the boathouse and off to the beach.

She always ruined his plans, even those he was making up on the spot. But, he couldn't do much about it and simply allowed himself to be pushed around. It was simpler that way, anyways. Dorian frowned slightly as they neared the beach, noticing a new family there with rather unique looking kids. Now he knew why she wanted to go, she had seen them arrive and figured she'd drag him along. He watched Mhairi toss her stuff onto the ground, heard her order him to set it up, and then run off towards the water. A slave to her whims... If only he knew a way to fight back that wouldn't have her screeching in his ear or plotting his ultimate demise. Or maybe even a way to resist whatever attack she might throw his way short of running away.

"Hi!" Mhairi called out to the two girls as she managed to catch up, flashing them a huge, happy grin. No one would ever suspect her to be the devil she was underneath with that giggly look.

Vilyum was soon waist deep in the water; it was refreshingly cool and clear enough to see the sand and little fishes that swam about. Melody arrived at the shoreline next. She placed one toe in to test it. Satisfied, she jumped forward and landed in up to her knees. Her two fuzzykin, hovered overhead, out of the water. Olivia was the last to reach the water, with her Mystral wrapped around her left arm. She placed one paw in, soaking the fur up to her calf. “It’s all wet!” she exclaimed, somewhat reluctant to continue.

“Of course it is, silly,” came Melody’s reply, moments before sending a large splash of water Olivia’s way.

“Hey! That’s not fair! Now I am soaked! So is Mystral!”

“But that’s why we are here, to get wet!”

At that, Olivia charged in, wet fur be darned! Upon reaching her sister, she gave her a big splash, but Melody jumped out of the way. “Can’t get me!” she declared in victory as she charged back up to the shore. Olivia gave chase and reached her, just in time to meet a girl that was approaching. Olivia saw her first, as Melody’s back was turned, but Melody turned to see her soon after, as the girl called out “Hi.”

Melody replied, “Hello, how are you? I am Melody.” Then she added, pointing to her sister, “That’s Olivia.”

Olivia waved with her non manawyrm covered arm, “Hello, and this is Mystral.”

Just then, Melody’s two fuzzykin flew up and landed on Mel’s shoulders. “And these are Blueberry Fluff and Raspberry Fluff!”
