"I've only met one of them," said Martha. "The guy with the beard. Which is he?"
"You figure it out yourself," Clem replied. "Two of them are married, two have blue eyes, and two are clean-shaven. The bearded one has brown eyes. Doug's wife is Ken's sister, and the bachelor has the same color eyes as Joe. They're three great guys."

3. A Change of Plan

Doug was putting up a fence at the end of the lawn. "You planned to have the posts five feet apart, so you told me," said Linda, coming out the watch. "But you've got them more than that."
"I didn't thik you'd notice," Doug chuckled. "But I found I was four posts short, so they had to be seven feet apart to do the same job."

4. Lucy looked at the boxes on her desk. "We've got plenty of these leaflets," she said. "Four thousand were printed. Do you remember how many we had last year?"
"Not exactly, but we didn't mail that many," Joe replied. "I did notice there was always one over when I divided the number by any number from two through nine."

"So you've got five kids, with the one girl in the middle," said Alan. "How old is she?"
Clem smiled. "Figure it out yourself," he replied. "They're all spaced two years apart, and the youngest boy is just half as old as the oldest."

Peter glanced at the boy's figuring. "Just regular four-digit number," he said. "What's so very special about it?"
"Look, Dad," Stan replied. "To divide it by seven you only have to drop its second digit."
He was right, so what was the number?

7. A Deal in Stamps

"I bought three lots of stamps today," Joe told his wife. "Nearly a hunderd in all."
"And I try to save pennies!" Ann sighed. "Anything good?"
Joe nodded. "Maybe. They averaged 66cents in one lot, "$1.68 in the second, #3.08 in the third. It's funny that I paid exactly the same for each lot."

cool! Well, still waiting for people to send me stuff. Or even write and say "How do you do this one? I tried this and then this part didn't work." I like giving small hints to help people along.

Mysticfawn's got one! And she's close to getting a second. Hmm... I wonder what I will do for prizes... Maybe I'll send out a certain amount of gold per correct answer and if I start feeling poor because people start getting so many I'll cut down... But that doesn't look like it will happen any time soon... Maybe 100 gold per correct answer???

Some of them are harder than others. I think I need paper and a pencil for most of them. As an incentive, Jenni's been awarding me 100g for each I correctly complete. 4laugh

I honestly haven't tried. Any type of problem like this has always been hard for me. I've never been good a them.
