Personality: Malidy has a bit of a temper and won't hesitate to lash out verbally or physically if she gets upset. She is good friends with her female class mates, and at least civil with the boys, depending on their behavior. Though she can be friendly it doesn't mean she trusts right away, when her trust is earned she is fiercely loyal and protective. She likes animals better than most people, because they do not judge for looks, or anything else. Though her first time out on a runner ended badly for her, her favorite beast to tend to are the runners, though canines are much easier to cuddle. Malidy loves hugs but is too shy to ask for them for fear of making someone uncomfortable, though those who know her, also know her hugs are simply the best.
Physical Description: Malidy is easy to mistake as a boy. She is tall, standing at over six feet tall, and wide in the shoulders, in addition to having thick bones her frame is wrapped in muscle, so she is rather intimidating in size. She wears her dark auburn hair shoulder length and bound to keep it out of her face. She has expressive green eyes, that will tell her mood when her body language will not, they sparkle when she smiles, and flash when she is angry. Her skin is dark from the sun, scars mark her back and circle one ankle from a child hood accident, and she is usually sporting some bruise or scrape from a fight with the boys, though as she grew the fights became more of a game then actual teasing.
She much prefers to wear trousers and tunics or shirts, over a dress or skirt. Usually the trousers are dark in color to hide stains from working with the beasts, while the shirt may be white with a yellow tunic if at a gather or feast. otherwise she wears tan.
History: Malidy is the offspring of two herders. As a small child she showed skill with handling the animals, so she was sent to Keroon as a foster child and later when she was old enough to study in Beastcraft. Having had many siblings both with her birth parents, and with her foster parents, Malidy only knew to fight for what she wanted, or she'd not get it. This did not mash well with some of the others who though she was too pushy. Her back and one ankle are scared from one of the older boys cutting her a riding strap as a cruel joke on the new kid. However it ended much worse than he meant for it to. When she fell from the beast her ankle got caught she was drug by the runner beast for several dragon lengths before someone noticed and stopped the beast. She spent a long time in the healers hall afterwards to heal becoming friends with the healers. She took part in a search when she first came of age, but the search dragon did not react to her and she was teased for it. The next search she had been unable to attend for her accident had happened shortly before and she couldn't even move. Afterwards she didn't plan to attend any other search attempts, for fear of rejection. As a group, her female classmates like her, love her even, because she had always taken the brunt of the boys jokes, while the boys hated her for being good at what she loved to do. She had always known that she was different from the other girls, she didn't like girly things, she wasn't much of a gossip, and had never crushed on the older boys. She had always been more comfortable in boys clothes even when not chancing some critter around. At first this was fuel to those who liked to pick on other people, and at first it make Malidy feel like she was wrong, broken in some way. Especially after she was rejected by the search dragon. But she came to realize it wasn't wrong so much as different, and different didn't always mean bad. So she liked girls, and was really good with beasts. For a long time she kept this part of herself hidden from her classmates, and even on some level from herself, but when one of her friends asked why she got so flustered when they bathed together, she admitted that she liked girls. At first this made some of her classmates uneasy, but soon they realized that she was still the Malidy many of them had known for turns, she hadn't changed.
Talents: She is good with all animals, that is handling and healing them. Most seem drawn to her. Because of her extended stay in the healers hall, she knows a little about human healing as well. She is skilled in hand to hand combat and when alone she likes to sing. She gives really good hugs.
Notes: Like all BeastCraft apprentices she has the responsibility of a runner beast, but also canine pup that likes her company over the others. The runner beast is a red mare she calls Liddy, and the pup she calls Vogal.
