To tell the truth, I think that I knew that a couple chapters into "Eragon" after Murtagh was introduced. My theory, though, is that they will find out that they are only half brothers in the third book. You will know what I mean if you pick up on the hints throughout the first two books.

Well, I'm not possitive yet. There is a very good possibility that I am wrong. It is just a guess at the time being, but most of the time when I read stories, I can deduce what will happen later on. If you read through "Eragon" and "Eldest" really carefully, you will pick up on the hints and know what I am talking about. Just to be upright and say it, I believe that Morzan and Selena gave birth to Murtagh, but it was Selena and Brom that concieved Eragon.

I also believe it was truly Selena and Brom who conceived Eragon. It would make a lot of sense. And yes, I did guess the brothers fact. We had a running theory in my guild about it. Very good evidence there too. I think I always knew, in the back of my heart.

Once you pay attention to things, they're always obvious.

I had only gueseed a little, but I thought it was nonsense. Even though Murtagh repeated it in the Ancient Language, it is not lying if you do not know it is not the truth.

No, the taperstry picture of the first Eragon looks nothing like Eragon! They look different except for elven ears.

I didn't know until the actual chapter in the book. I didn't really even try to guess, I just thought that Murtagh would come back as being good or something not bad. I stayed up late in the night reading the rest of the book. blaugh
