My mom came into my room a couple mnutes ago and asked me what I thought about these sunglasses she had bought. It was quite odd. I asked her why she couldn't have gotten anything smaller and she said, "That's all they have now, that's what is in."
Then she went on to tell me about how, when my younger sister and I were little, how we used to try on her huge black sunglasses. She told me that she had told the store clerk she should have saved all her old sunglasses.
I said, "Wow mom you actually have worn something that has actually been in style." Then she gave me the finger... well not really it was the read between the lines thing, but it is intended the same way.
Do you like sunglasses that cover up about 1/2 of your face? Why or why not?

I don't like them. I was alive when it was trendy to wear giant Elton John glasses. And I even had some. But now, they just look horribly out of style to me. I prefer smaller ones.

I like small ones too, but that's probably just because I'm a smallish girl. ^_^

I don't like sunglasses, except for the ones that cover about two-thirds of your eyes. (Y'know, the kind which look like they're going to slide off at any moment?)
My sister got one of those 'giganto' sunglasses about a month ago. First I laughed, then tried them with a funky hat. I looked like a ranger. 3nodding

I don't like them. Maybe it's because I have a small face and they look like a visor but I just don't like them. And half the girls at my school who have them, don't wear them for their proper function. They just prop them up on their heads (not even a push-into-hair-so-I-can-see) for "fashion" over their texturized, layered, one bang falling in eyes hair. It's like wearing a life jacket because it looks trendy.
Uh...yeah. So, I don't like them. I prefer medium sized or small sunglasses.

I don't really like wearing sunglasses at all. Not even small ones, so big ones would just annoy the hec out of me. xd

Small glasses of any kind here. I had a few docs who tried to convince me big was the way to go. I think I look like a pop-eyed gobbo with big glasses on.
Unless I'm going for that schmesky Robo-Cop look.
I dunno.

Oh yeah...
As an aside...wait till it happens that something you grew up liking goes away and comes back. It's...surreal.
Maybe your kids will do the same to you some day. xd

Add the 80s off the shoulder tops, tube tops...all the fashionistas pulling those other 80s influences. I am waiting for fingerless lace gloves and big bows to come back. *laughs* Not that I'm wearing them, mkay... Let's add some 60s trapeze tops for that mod look, too. Heck, I've had stuff I stole from my mom when I was in high school that's back in because boho has resurged. *giggles* And oh those bags...hobo bags in all shapes and colors. Me, I wear antique and vintage jewelry. Never fails to get a huge response, regardless of time period, as long as it coordinates. biggrin And it usually fits, although the Victorian necklaces tend to be a bit smaller.

Those giant sunglasses scare me. They make people look like freakish bugpeople!

Mmmm. I love the giant ones on guys. I have this really hot friend who has a very prominent feminine side who was wearing a pair once, and oh dear lord. Haaawt. Ever since that, I've loved them, although I don't like them too much on girls.

Meh. I don't really like big sunglasses that cover half your head, nor do I like the little ones that slip off every two steps. I like the in-the-middle kind that fit just right. =3
You know what's in style at my school? Wearing sunglasses indoors. The teachers are always reminding students to take their sunglasses off, almost more than they remind kids to take their hats off. I see no point in wearing shades indoors...
Oh wait. It looks cool. I forgot. rolleyes
