I've always had this recurring nightmare wherein a man was chasing our family. In my dream, the man was large and had a brutal, intimidating face and he was wearing a black trenchcoat. confused

... what makes my nightmare a nightmare is that when I am not able to do anything when danger comes, i mean i'm not afraid of monsters but when i realize i can't move/run that's when i know i'm having a nightmare.
..but you know, it's fun when you are able to turn your nightmare into your own adventure. it's like making your own story inside your dream.. if you have a strong mind, you can surely do it.

Actually, pyshicologist (watch me lack in spelling) call that lucid dreaming. I got into a conversation with my girlfriend about it recently when we were watching nightmare on elm street. She said that usually you can't control your dreams. As far as nightmares goes, I don't get them too often. One though I'll never get out of my head. Its was about my grandfather dying. The weird part was, he died a few months later. Certain things happened in the dream that happened in real life too. It was weird.

I do Dream Readings I will do your's.
OK this man that is chacing your family in a black trench coat, if he catches you he will kill you. You and your family are facing alot of stress right now, or it is the dominet one in your house hold that is going throught depression or stress right now. When you are awake, do you see black cats or rats running across the room out of the corner of your eye? If you do becarfull, these are called shadow rats and they only apear when there is a great deal of stress and they will be followed by the man in the black trench coat. If you haven't seen the rats or cats then your dream is for worning you of great stress, but what ever you do don't let him catch any of your family because he will ruen then....

Impressive. Wow, J, where did you learn to do that? I find dream interpretations very interesting. They are also a probe in the unconscious part of the brain, right?

I can usually tell when I am dreaming... Can't always control the dreams, wish I could though I'm getting sick of being chased by dinosaurs that I know aren't real rolleyes

There are times when I sort of regain consciousness while dreaming, and I curb my thoughts so my dream goes the way I want it to. It's fun that way. But usually, I don't realize I am dreaming till I am awake.

Well my main intrest is in the human mind and how it works, and I have done veryous studys of my friends dreams and my parents dream, witch I found intreaging, not to menchen I love the parenormal witch facters in to peoples dreams, such as your Guy that is chacing you, When he is seen in the Real world if you may "Reality" He is known as a emotional eater, he feeds of emotions, witch quinsidently Harry Potter baces the dementors after. But your dreams are a veiw in to the future but in code its just, a warning. The problem is finding out what the they mean, I went out a bought like 10 dream books on how to tranclate dreams, I campared most deffinishions and then came to my own conclutions through my life experiance. And I believe alot of your dreams come from the subconscios part of your mind in witch the sixth senct and the third eye lays. But I have also found something very interesting as well, Dreaming leaves you open for things to get inside your head, or atleast I believe so, other studys I have done can lead to another scientific theory, witch is all the monsters and demons and ghosts that wander the earth are all in our heads. Not in the way that they don't exsist, because they are very real, sort of like when some one can pick up and object with there mind, We as children created the Boggie man and he is very real to us as children but as we grow older we tend to forget him, but he is still there as something that we created and it still wanders the earth to hunt other children. I have no Idea if this makes any sence to any one so I'm just going to stop ranting now sweatdrop ...I think though I will open a Dream thread were I will do my best to translate dreams for people, Just remeber though, I am not a profeinal and will not have the answers for every one because every one's brains and mind works differently so I may not always be right.

ive never had nightmares till i moved to where i am now here in fl (which sucks and smells like old people) but the only ones ive had are about me being alone again

I have had the same recuuring Nightmare since I was like around 5 years old. This man is killing members of my family and he is going to kill me soon.
