Amelia's ears pricked at the sound of Idonea's stomach burbling and she realized she too had begun to grow hungry. Her glowing eyes searched for something nearby but she didn't see anything. They were going to have to leave the stream and head for a clearing with grass. The thought of grass made Amelia a little sad, she wished for blood not grass. Shaking her head lightly she too began to think of a symbol for hunger. Craning her neck around she began to lip at her belly as though grass were on it. Turning her head back she sought approval.

She nodded her approval and looked for something to settle her stomach. She remembered the little raccoon and the stallion she'd met not too long ago. She'd promised to try and be safe and this was how it ended. The raccoon sippy reminded her of his fishing and she wondered, just how did fish taste? Walking back to the stream, she waited at the water's edge and watched a few of the smaller fish swimming about close bye. Seeing her opportunity, she sprung into the water and splashed about till she managed to stun and kick a fish onto the bank.

Amelia stood, a quizzical expression on her face, watching as her new found friend attempted to catch a fish. She quirked a brow and watched as the fish was kicked onto the bank, leaping back as it nearly became a hat for her to sport. She looked from the fish to Idonea, still confused as to what the filly was doing. Was she really going to try meat? This would get interesting very fast.

She trotted out of the stream looking rather pleased with herself that she'd managed to catch the fish in the first place. Looking over the fish she now wondered what to do with it. She glowered her head and gave the fish a quick lick. Her fur bristled causing her to puff up and hop back. "Ewwwww!"

Amelia smiled and shook her head, Idonea was just too adorable. Without really thinking about it Amelia walked up and took a bite out of the fish. Though it wasn't meat and there wasn't much blood it still tasted better than grass. Her stomach dropped as she remembered she was not with Ana but with her new friend. Swallowing the bite she had taken she looked up at Idonea, ashamed. She figured now the filly would wish to run and hide from her, now that she had demonstrated part of the monster she was.

Idonea watched her friend, ears perked. Licking the fish's scaly hide had been an eye opener. Creeping slowly forward, she sniffed at the fish and then took a bite just as she'd seen Amelia do. It was such a strange flavor, squishy texture but strangely.. delicious. Grinning wide, she swallowed the bite she'd been chewing on and crept back to the stream to see about catching another fish.

Amelia could do nothing more than blink for a moment after witnessing Idonea actually biting into the fish like she had. She had expected screaming, running or anger but not enjoyment. Her eyes still wide she watched as Idonea trotted back to the stream to catch another fish. She wasn't the only one who enjoyed live food to vegetation? This new realization caused her to stumble back a few paces. Her sister had eaten meat before her but she hadn't ever seen anyone outside of her family who didn't think it was beastly to consume other creatures. Her eyes turned to the fish and she felt a small smile parting her maw. She wasn't as alone as she had initially thought.

She waited, eyes focused on the water as she became as still as a stone. the water has become clear once more and she could watch the fish. Giving a small crouch, she leaped in once more splashing and darting about till once more she'd kicked another fish out from the water and onto the bank. it flopped around and other wise gasped for air as she trotted out and watched it for a moment before stunning it with a hoof. she was eating it, she didn't need it flopping about and putting up a fuss while she had her meal.

Amelia continued to watch in astonishment a moment more, feeling strangely about the situation. She had found a friend who wouldn't balk at her eating something live, or at least a fish anyway. This was an experience she hadn't ever been faced with before. It wasn't often she was accepted for who she was and it made the flames on her feet grow in size and dance more excitedly. Lowering her head she nibbled on the remnants of the fish they had shared, her mind all a twitter with this latest discovery. Perhaps she could be herself around Idonea and not have to worry about her taking off and leaving or screaming in terror. A friend...

She ate half of the new fish, leaving the other half for her new friend. Picking it up she brought it over and set it on the ground a little too close to Amelia's hooves because the smell of cooking fish wafted up into the air. "Oops" She blinked and watched the flames flicker and dance about.

Amelia looked down as her friend pointed out she had made a mistake of some kind. She noticed the flesh of the fish bubbling and sizzling as it began to cook from the heat of her hooves. Though this amused her she felt more and more like some kind of terrifying creature. She couldn’t even cuddle up to her sister at night for fear that she would give here severe burns. A sigh blew from her chest and she looked sadly up at her friend who was watching the flames. She found herself wondering what Idonea could be thinking at this moment. Her feet were nothing but bones burning green, a somewhat terrifying concept. She was reminded of her mother’s tale of giving birth to her, how awful the entire fiasco was.

The scent of cooked fish filled the air and made her giggle softly. A glance to her friend told her she'd been starring. Giving an apologetic smile, she smacked her lips at the scent of the fish, it smelt.. yummy. Reaching out, she gave Amelia a friendly nuzzle and pointed at the fish with her nose as to tell Amelia to go ahead and eat. She moved around to the side and got close enough so as not to be burned by Her friend's flames. Gently, she rested her head on Amelia's back and gave a small squeeze like pressure almost like she was hugging Amelia.

The dark thoughts Amelia had begun to dwell on vanished as her friend hugged her. She hadn’t ever been hugged before, not even Ana had done that. It wasn’t that her sister didn’t love her; it just wasn’t something they normally did. She felt comforted and bent her head down to take a nibble of the cooked fish. It tasted better than raw fish, the heat seemed to have brought out more flavor. Amelia bobbed her head up and down while her nose remained pointed at the fish, encouraging Idonea to take a bite. She was happy to have found someone who wouldn’t run when her flames singed flesh or burned brightly. She had a feeling that both of them would remain friends for quite a while.

She shifted her wight some and moved so as to be able to reach the fish once more. Lowering her head, she nibbled at what was left of the now cooked fish and savored the flavor. Raw fish was good but cooked fish.. it was much better.. but some how missed something... Looking around, she saw a it of wild growing sage and trotted to it, broke a sprig off and brought it back, dropping it on the ground before she went after yet another fish. She wanted to try it with the herb that smelt so... robust this time.

Amelia watched her friend trot off and pick vegetation then head to the stream. Tilting her head she watched Idonea with interest, curious as to what she could possibly be doing. She had gathered he friend had enjoyed the cooked meal but had no idea what she was planning now. Amelia’s glowing eyes moved down to the brilliant white bones left behind of the fish and then to her legs. Her bone was not a shining white but a green color as the flames tinged them. How often had she been asked if it hurt? Not very often, for no one would speak to her. She wondered why it didn’t hurt, knowing how much her flames hurt another if they touched it. It had cooked a fish for goodness sake; getting your leg burned by them must be painful.
