 This image entirely sums up how I feel on the subject. Posted on Facebook KINDA the same deal -- I think I'm just going to give up on trying to date and focus on my career s**t before even trying any sort of serious relationship ever again.
I am THAT turned off by any kind of relationship right now because, well, whatever good s**t I had, I completely struck out on. So, giving up. If one more person says, "I love you, Cait" in a romantic sense whatsoever, I've just going to a suck on a shotgun until I can afford to buy the bullets or someone puts me down.

The moment you give up looking is when it hits you.
But I think it's very smart of you to focus on your career right now. I know you're frustrated with relationships right now, which is understandable, bit it sounds like you still want one eventually (with someone who won't hurt you) so don't give up completely. You deserve someone that wants nothing more than to make you happy, and given how awesome you are I know that's out there and all that. I know this all sounds sappy and bullshit-y right now but it's true. So don't be too negative about it, just put it aside for a while. Whether you've already met her and don't know it yet, or she's looking for you and probably feeling pretty down about not finding you yet, it has to happen one day and it will be the best and it will last. I won't say forever because I have a very low threshold for pain and my nose kinda sticks out so it's hard to miss and I have allergies already so I don't want it broken and all that.

I mean, I understand what you're saying, and however cliche this sounds...I'll say it; "That's life".
I bet those people who said 'forever' and 'love' meant it at the time. Everyone who says love and forever probably knows that it's dependent. I mean, you could say you truly love someone forever but if they killed your entire family I'm sure something would change.
At the same time, it's a mood kill to date someone long-term and not have them tell you these lovey-dovey things. I think I would rather be told, "Forever" than "I won't say forever because who knows what the future will hold!"

Giving up on romance means it will seek you out even more. Sorta like how, as a male, as soon as I get a girlfriend, ladies usually line up around the block to try and convince me to let them suck my c**k.

Bre, yeah, I know that this is "life" as we know it. It's just really sucks to invest yourself, and then fall, and try to make it work and then suddenly -- it just can't. "It's not you, it's me." Then HOW CAN I HELP?

Streets is right. I mean, is completely sucks when that happens. But it happens, and you just have to pick yourself up and go about your way. I think it's perfectly fine (and probably smarter) to focus on your career instead of your relationships, but that doesn't mean you should punch one in the face when it comes along.
Maybe I'm being too optimistic, but I don't think that all relationships are a bad idea because you've had bad luck. But if something good happens to come along, don't completely ignore it. And I know that whatever you do will work out. :3 I wish you the best of luck!

I know how it goes... I'm not gonna say 'no' if something great comes along, but if it's something bad in the elaborate disguise of something great, I doubt I'll know the difference -- I might give them another couple months, maybe a year or so, and then end up more paranoid and unwilling to participate in such a relationship ever again.
