Is has been brought to my attention that I over looked one major topic. Scamming done other than through pop ups and fake offers. After hearing what happened to Ms. Nightingale I wish to list off ways to know if a trade or PM offer is false and a scam. If I miss anything please inform me in this topic or in PM and I shall quote you in the post for ways to know if someone is trying to scam you 3nodding

Way's To Know If Someone Is Trying To Scam You:

-If an offer sounds too good to be true

Lusty101
I told her she had failed in her attempt and this was the response I got.

hi can i plz borrow ur lusty for a party today i wont keep it u can report me banned me if i do and want 1,00,000 dallors u have to give me ur passsword dont worry i helped many ppl i trusted over 91 i helped i trusted them by looking in the inside not outside im not a scammer hacker or anything like that my tradign pass broke and my gift box and house so im quiting gaia and i dont wanna give my profile i wanna give my money away plz

She sent another scam... bad grammar and all. This is another way people try to get you to give them your password this is also a scam...

-If in the trade you cannot see the item's name when you put the mouse over the item in the trade window yet you can see your own item's name when mouse is over it. So if you can see yours but not the other person's then don't do it even if it looks right

This is a screen shot that is most recent that my friend Alurin took. This person has PMed her 2 times so far with the same scam, I been PMed once by this person (sure it same one since the avis look the same) and heard from Alurin that Lain had the same PM sent to her by a user with the exact same looking avi and same words or about same words and same link that was in the PM to me and the 2 to Alurin. Here's a screen picture. I'm wondering how many others have got a PM from this person or persons that have all their avis looking alike

I have seen that last one before... a girl told me about it copied it and I told her to report it... Its the new way of hacking I'm pretty for sure they send some kind of malware to your avi and wait to get the info from your computer... also i went to the cite and it has an annoying thing that pops up like on those free movie cites. That or this is people using it as a way to make money in rl by Trading you an item using this cite and the cite pays them for getting people to it...
Haven't figured it all out yet but I wouldn't touch that one with a 10 foot pole

I received the same thing in my mail, the best thing to do is report it and do fall for silly things, for one the avi in the picture doesn't appear to be a person who got a bunch of items for free. Plus the link is an outside source. Can't be trusted.

I got this one, too. So I checked out the coding for the website.

Delete your cookies, run a virus scan, open your browser in its safe version, and change your password after visiting any shifty website!

From what I could decipher, it sends your username as the title of an email, but I believe it might be a cookie logger (a majority of the code is encrypted, so I can't read what it does sad ). I would assume it's someone's website to hack users using the free version of Hater's mass-messenger to get the word around fast. I assume she keeps making new accounts as soon as her newest one gets banned for spamming, using a long list of proxies to stop her from ever being completely banned.

Your best chance of never getting hacked is to not get noticed, so your decision to report it and not respond was the best decision you could have made in this situation.
