My new doctor finally weaned me off my anti-psychotics and I feel amazing so I've decided to just eliminate all drugs from my system. I only have sex every three or four weeks anyways and I always use condoms so it's not that bad if I go off it. I just liked the security of knowing I wouldn't get pregnant if something happened with the condom, but I think I'm just going to buy some plan b and keep it on hand in case something does happen. That way I can just take it immediately.

Birth control sucks. Yeah it's nice knowing the exact date of my period but it was always pretty regular. I can't do foreplay at all anymore though. My breasts are so sensitive that if my boyfriend even accidentally touches my n****e it's uncomfortable. That was my favorite part of foreplay and now it's gone and I can't even get wet without it so I'm barely having sex anyways. Thanks birth control.

So if I just don't take my next pack (I've only been on it for like 5 months) will I be okay? I'm gonna ask my doctor anyways but my appointment isn't for another two weeks.

Go ahead and talk it over with your doctor, but if you want extra assurance you could always consider a hormone free IUD as a back up for condoms.

It's been over ten years since I came off of the pill for birth control. I don't remember then, but I do remember going cold turkey when I relactated later. I used it to cause my breasts to make the hormonal changes they needed to make. I was on it over a month straight with no breaks at all. Other women I've worked with go months on it (as long as a pregnancy) without taking any of the sugar pills and then drop it straight when they are ready to start pumping.

You may have some mood swings depending on how long it has been you were on it. You may take up to a year for your cycles to regulate. But you will go back to normal. A lot of people have no notice of changes when they come off the pill, so hopefully you won't either. Good luck. I noticed after my system cleared I had more energy. Hopefully that's the same for you.

I would love an IUD but I'm severely allergic to metal and the IUD is made of copper. sad

I've forgotten like a week of pills before and had to wait until my next period to start over. It's gonna suck as much as your pre-bc periods sucked, which was a lot for me. If your periods were normal beforehand then I wouldn't worry too much except for some abnormal bleeding.

I may be remembering this wrong but I think birth control pills used to be used to treat infertility. If I remember correctly the first month after you stop taking them you become much more likely to conceive. Ask a doctor though.

Freshman year, I was on bc for maybe 6 months, then my mom told me that we couldn't afford it. So I just stopped taking it. Nothing really changed. Of course, being on bc didn't change much in the first place anyway. So you'll probably be fine but make sure you tell your doctor.
