An Employee is Born
As a youth, Flourish was picked to be one of the faces of Phonyland. This involved many classes on etiquette, pose, posture, speech, grooming, singing, tone, customer service, labor and libel laws, lawsuit avoidance, and cyber goth security training.
She actually resented her classes in her youth, craving the freedom that other foals had. Promises of things like job and life security meant nothing to a filly who wanted to build sandcastles in the park, just more boring adult matters. She also hated that she was being forced to change. Her teachers insisted that she was still her, just "the most perfect version of her." Flora's naturally deep southern accent was drilled out of her to her perfect princess voice. To this day she is deeply embarrassed and mortified if it slips out even a little.
Flourish actually came to understand what her future would be like when she was taken to the park and shown some of the other cast members interacting with the public. The happiness and wonderment that the actors and actresses inspired in their guests impressed and excited name. When she finally understood that being like those cast members was her special purpose, the filly threw herself wholeheartedly into her lessons.
She can be described as having the patience of a saint and quiet nerves of steel. She cultivates conversations with small children fascinated by her beauty, answers their endless questions, poses for pictures, tolerates curious tugs on her hair and bridle and shuts down the outrageous requests from parents and guests with a cool, but in character, reaction. And throughout, she maintains her smile.
Off The Clock
She tries to maintain a good rapport with all of her other Phonyland cast mates and her favorite way to relax is to go out drinking with them after work and exchange horror stories about the events of the day. Flourish is a really good drinker with a preference for beer and margaritas. When she's properly tipsy, she can be a little rowdy; laughingly loudly, shouting for more drinks across the room, and being a little too lax with her language. When she's drunk however, the accent that was drilled out of her slips out and she tends to warble her favorite park song, often ending with a ear shattering "IT'S A DIMINUTIVE PLANET AFTER ALL YA'LL!!"

Phonyland Cast Member
More then a pretty face
Known as the Carousel Princess, Flourish is a "face" cast member of Phonyland. Her area is known at the Merry-Go-Garden, a large circular area near the middle of the park that houses the parks' enormous Grand Carousel.
When not in the Garden, Flora's job is entice guests to visit her area and ride the carousel.
Sometimes Flourish is booked for parties or events where she appears at birthday parties, reads to guests or leads sing a longs to the park's various songs. Since her ride's melody has no actual lyrics, her favorite song is "It's A Diminutive Planet After All."
Ups and Downs
Like any job, there is the good and the bad.
She really loves the look in the eyes of the children and foals who see her. Their huge, sparkling eyes full of awe as they approach her make her day. She loves interacting with them, making them giggle in delight.
The thing she hates the most is keeping the guests out of her saddle. Having to explain to the Gessikas, Ashlehs, Muranduhs, L'aurels, and Renatas that they can't actually ride on her usually results in children crying or having tantrums or meltdowns along with nasty looks from their parents. Flourish can practically hear the liability guys tensing up whenever a parent insists that just a quick ride will be no trouble.
Flora has amazing stories about horrible guests that she loves to tell over a bite or pint.
