To answer your 2nd question, Im not sure whether you would. Probably. *shrugs* rolleyes

True, but that was based off of L: Change the World which is, essentially, a fan-fiction. The original creators of Death Note did not bring to light that question, nor was it ever considered by the characters in the original series.

Ok: according to L, change the WorLd, he wrote his own name in Misa's notebook. In that story, I think as long as you write your own name in a notebook that you do not own, then you die (and of course it would be considered suicide: you're killing yourself!!)

HOWEVER

In the normal manga/anime, no matter what, if you write your own name in the notebook, it's a useless waste of paper-like stuff, because it won't work. smile
