dictionary.com

Bestiality=
1. The quality or condition of being an animal or like an animal.
2. Conduct or an action marked by depravity or brutality.
3. Sexual relations between a human and an animal.

For now, we're going to take the 3rd definition of it and discuss it.

From biblegateway.com, in NIV, there are only 3 verses in the Old Testement regarding bestiality

biblegateway.com
NIV:Exodus 22:19
19 "Anyone who has sexual relations with an animal must be put to death.

biblegateway.com
NIV: Leviticus 18:23
23 " 'Do not have sexual relations with an animal and defile yourself with it. A woman must not present herself to an animal to have sexual relations with it; that is a perversion.

biblegateway.com
NIV: Leviticus 20:16
16 " 'If a woman approaches an animal to have sexual relations with it, kill both the woman and the animal. They must be put to death; their blood will be on their own heads.

From those laws, we can see that bestiality was a serious offense in the Old Testement.

Now however, Christians like me mainly believes that the laws of Old Testement no longer applies.

So, does that mean that you can practice bestiality and still get into heaven?

Although I don't know it, but could it be possible that some people are born that "loves" animals that way? So then, can they still go to heaven even though they practice bestiality?

I've already accepted that homosexuals can have same-sex partners and still go to heaven (Because of Anael's thesis about it, read it in the ED when you get the time), but would that also apply to someone who practices bestiality?

If not, then I've got a lot more re-thinking to do, regarding both homosexuality and bestiality.

Speaking moraly, beastality hits the same problem as ***** (or at least child abuse) does. The other party can't consent.

OK, there are a few cases of animals that seem to or actualy behave sexualy towards humans (search news archives for dolphin rapes... or not, but such things have been recorded), but the majority of beastalitly is conducted by forcing or tricking the animal into the act, just as most adult/child relationships are conducted by coercion or force. In most of modern (western) society, this is the line that matters. Two parties able to consent can do what they want (hence all kinds of 'deviance' is accepted), but those who can't consent are off limits.

You do have a choice even after death to choose Christ or Satan in most circumstances.

Erm...You guys aren't exactly helping...

What I'm trying to ask, exactly, is that, say you meet Jesus one day, and asked if bestiality was acceptable, how would Jesus answer?

Would Jesus say "You shall not be accepted in Heaven for practicing it" or something else that goes along the lines of "It's acceptable....BUT" or w/e

Could anyone be born with the sexual desire for animals, or is it all a choice?

That depends on who you ask.

According to many, in order to get to heaven all you have to do is accept Jesus as your saviour. There is no way you can be kept out if you have admited you are a sinner and repented through your acceptance of Jesus sacrifice as clensing you. Of course, they tend to assume that you then go on to live a perfect Christian life and constantly pray and show modesty. I don't know what happens if you accept Jesus then keep sinning, etc. Or even if that is possible.

Of course, some judge people on their works and acts, not their faith. That way, you would have to have been forgiven before you die, but after your last sin. For example, a Catholic would have to confess or be given the last rights to clense any of their sins before death. Other branches have similar idea, whereby some sins are so great that no amount of faith can save you.

All depends on who you listen to. They all have scripture to back them up.

That is a good question. I don't know if you can be BORN that way, but in some cases it may not be an actual choice. There are other influences besides how you are born and how you conciously decide things. Your environment or mental problems could come into the picture later in life, and change how you see things.

Last time I checked...believing a certain sect doesn't mean you become Jesus...Christ-like, yes, but not Jesus himself.... confused

Gah I'm not sure what I'm asking for anymore gonk

Eh? Certain sects believe that belief, or rather faith in Jesus is the only thing that can get you into heaven, and the only thing needed to get into heaven. Everything else is a matter of personal belief.

Others believe the opposite.

Whether this would keep you out or not depends on who is right.

Bestiality is wrong. The New Testament does not specifically address it (that I know of) but it clearly states that "there should not even be a hint of sexual immorality." So what is sexual immorality you ask? Well, think about sex for a moment. No, not like that. ha ha God designed sex for procreation, for strengthening the bond between man and wife, and for pleasure. Yes, God did intend sex to be pleasureable, but he also defines that it is a gift suited only for the confines of marriage. Sex outside of marriage is sexual immorality. God did not intend "inter-species marriages", so to answer your question, bestiality is in fact sin. If you commit bestiality will you go to hell? If you haven't repented of that, yes.

Could you be a Christian and still practice bestiality though?

And what passage does it state that there should not be even a hint of sexual immorality?

Well, that depends on how much validity you see to the old testament. I personally see the old testament as not very valid because of all the outdated laws. But it is still something leading up to Christ, so therefore should be read in order to understand his teachings.

Well I agree with you Elenoa, having sex with animals is wrong and gross. God made the Older Testment Laws and God doesn't change. If He did no one would believ in Him for it would be a waste of time. The Older Testament is valid and people who say it isn't didn't read what Christ said at all. To be a Christian you have to read the whole Word of Christ for Christ was in the Old Testament. I think you will go to Hell if you do bestiality and not repent of your actions.

And he that blasphemeth the name of the LORD, he shall surely be put to death, and all the congregation shall certainly stone him: as well the stranger, as he that is born in the land, when he blasphemeth the name of the Lord, shall be put to death.
Do you need me to continue? There are many other examples of laws that not only are not followed today, but are not even called to be enforced. The ones about homosexuals and beastality are because they fit in with a homophobic culture, or with existing, secularly based laws.

It sounds as if you are heterophobic and attempt to turn Scripture about to meet your own needs. Oh well ... you are not arguing with me.

Heterophobic? Thats a good one. Will be sure to tell my girlfriend that tonight.

No, in reality I just hate baseless discrimination, or people who pick supporting statements from the bible either out of context or ignoring other sections arbitrarily.

My view is it is best to understand as many worldviews as you can. What they are and where they came from. It is best to start with your own.
