Am I the only one who has enormous issues with organizing time to spend with different parts of my family for the holidays?
Every year, different sides of my family try to guilt me into stay with them. Which, okay, yeah, they wanna see me. I get that. But when it gets to the point where I'm crying on the phone because they're being outright mean? That's kind of ridiculous.
It's my ******** holiday, let me spend it with who I likes, dammit! Anyone else have this problem?

Yup, ever since my parents split.
This is my first year living on my own (well, with my gf, but whatever) so I'm curious as to how it's going to work out...

I don't spend time with my extended family unless they come to me, and even then I don't want to. They're really materialistic and it makes me sick to my stomach how much they rub their financial success in my lower-middle-class immediate family's faces.

I love Thanksgiving. It is our togetherness holiday. None of my families have their celebrations on the same day, so we all get to do our thing with everybody, not only that, but we have thanksgiving all week. XD
Christmas is a bad time though. I hate Christmas.
