[Event ORP] Battle of the bands! See page 2!

It seems like a normal enough Webday, the cafeteria food still as rotting as ever, the gnomes still as creepy, and the headmistress still her crabby self.

Which is probably why the student standing in the corner made many a first and second year do a double take. She was dressed 'normally' enough from head to toe; discounting her leather boots she really wasn't that tall or special. Or tall. Probably a reaper.

However, it is usually in common interest, unless you were a student council enthusiast, that people did not set up booths in the middle of nowhere. Not to mention on her booth was a rather wide assortment of gaudy pins and banners, and also one, just one, sign up sheet.

"Oh, I see you noticed the sign-up sheet!" She seems agreeable enough. "Wanna participate in the battle of the bands? It'll blow you outta this world!"

A pause.

"Oh right, of course I'll pay you for your joining, how do silver pumpkin seeds sound?"

This is an open event rp! For anyone who participates in this, they will automatically be rewarded AT LEAST one growth point, if not more

- Students interested are required to sign up in THREES. You will need for your team: ONE DRUMMER, ONE VOCALIST/LEAD SINGER, ONE GUITAR LEAD. Simply have one person sign up your entire team and list who is doing what.
- When signing up please create a band name for your team and maybe a really small blurb as to what your band specializes in
- If you have two people and are absolutely missing a person, you may still sign up and borrow an NPC gnome to help your team out.
- Your student doesn't actually require any talent in drumming/guitar playing/singing, they could just sign up for the incentive and attempt to fake it
- This is an event rp meaning there might be other prizes to be won OTHER than growth points and the occasional chance at silver pumpkin seeds
- If you sign up, please be available at least once a day for the next few days following to help make decisions for your group. If you are not able to make a day, it simply means your group will have one less "player" and technically can still continue playing
- Signups will be open for the next three days (Signups close Friday, Nov 5th in the evening), so go ahead and ponder your fate foolish mortal

Chuppi had no idea what she was doing but. . . at least she knew she and her friends wanted to try this whole "band" thing together. They'd even thought of a fun name, something really cool and something fun!

Taking the piece of paper in hand, Chuppi signed up the group Amigos de Amor

They were going to sing Spanish Love Songs, written by Calder and translated by Temes. Way to go Amigos de Amor!

With a smirk that would have made Jack himself shiver (she wished), Nevena snatched up a pen with flourish and quickly jotted down her entry for this battle. With her and her sisters, there was no way they could lose this competition! And with that, Lady Gorgon had taken its place among the other, sad bands. She mentally counted the number of other sign-ups so she could remember how many would drop out of sheer fear and awe.

What did they specialize in? What did they specialize in? Sneering at such a silly question, Nevena wrote down the answer with gusto. They sang and performed classical heavy rap rock pop metal songs, of course!

It took a lot of guts for Tahki to actually work up the nerve to take the pen and jot down her teams entry for battle of the bands. The gryphon felt awkward writing down the teams name and a little embarrassed. Eardrum Orgasm made her cheeks flush bright red with every pen stroke.

She quickly jotted her band members team down and added the description as Rock Ballad but kind of sorta screamo.  

[WE ARE HALLOWEEN]

She was rather pleased that she had gotten two whole bands to sign up. Just a few more and they could actually call a Jam Night Out, right?

The reaper jostled all the papers and pretended to look busy, so busy that it took her a couple of moments to notice someone standing there. And literally right there, in her personal space, looming in front of her with the weirdest expression on his face.

"Um. Can I help you?" She began very slowly, one eyebrow raised.

"Yes, I'd like to sign up for the battle of the bands please!" "Steve", the perpetrator, said this all very fast.

"Sure... why not. Yeah, just sign your name here."

He continued staring at her. After a good minute, she stared evenly back. "Are you going to sign anytime soon?"

A brilliant idea suddenly hit 'Steve'. He attempted his best to nonchalantly lean closer, licking his lips. "So like, if I sign up, will you go out with me?"

She blinked. "WHAT?!"

"Consider it a date then!" In one swift motion, he had the sign-up sheet in his hand, writing in all the required information deftly, making sure to leave his skellyphone number. Without another word, 'Steve' had skipped off, leaving one baffled and stunned reaper.

"Wait... what just happened?!"

It was exciting for Lizzy - while being part of a band has never been on her 'What to do while in school' list, she was actually looking forward to it! Taking up the pen, she smiled as she registered the band LIT, initials of every member in the band.

Her smile grew and she found herself blushing slightly; they would be doing Romantic Ballads, and it would be fantastic!

Kasumi braced herself. Was she really up for this kind of thing? Could she even perform on stage? Obviously she could deliver a speech, but delivering a song was something else entirely! Gingerly, she picked up the pen to sign down her name, along with the others who had banded with her (haha, banded) in this endeavor. Their name would be Barbed Doctor and the Organic Nation!

Their specialty? Kasumi agreed with the others when their genre was decided. They were so heavy metal that 'heavy' wasn't heavy enough. No, they were... Gargantuan Metal.

Entrusted with the mission of signing up the band, Shine nervously located the booth in the cafeteria and made her way through the masses - so many of them! - and offered the girl a halfhearted little wave. She was admittedly excited to do something so neat with her friends (something that could lead to new friends, even), but the thought of a whole crowd staring at her, with bright lights--!

After very carefully writing down their names and roles in tiny, timid print, she ducked her head and existed the cafeteria with haste, hands tucked against her stomach. She didn't want to claw someone by accident!

Their name is The Serial Molesters, with no apologies to Emily, and their specialty is alternative synth-rock.

Julian walked slowly up to the table, looking like he was walking to his own execution. Eyes wide, wings quivering, he was the picture of nervous kid. Imagine how he would be when they actually had to play!
But Cora and Morton were his friends, albeit new ones, and they had asked him to be a part of this.
Well, it was more like pushed him to be, but that was all in his head. He just couldn't say no! Poor boy had peer-pressure issues.

Anyways, he was up at the table by then and shakily scrawling out his friends' names, though even then his handwriting was immaculate.

It took him a moment to close his eyes and a deep breath before he could finish the list.

That done, he almost turned around and fled as if there was a horde of angry professors led by Helma on his heels. But as he turned away, he remembered to add the genre of music they would be playing. He really felt like he was the limiting factor of the band when he added rock music after their names. He was sure Cora would have been more specific, but he was the one picked to sign them up.

Sin had gotten together with Alcyone and Davinica, they each probably had their own reasons for doing so but they had formed a band. With Fright Rock stylings that were somber, dark, and oddly soothing they had found talents for each of them.

With that settled they had picked a name that reflected a little something in each of them and the Howling Harlots had been born. These ladies could croon out dark sensual songs with a rock twist!

Stage fright? Before the battle had even started? Nonsense. Siddie had just been waiting for a few people to go ahead of her, that was all.

She bent over the signup sheet and sucked on her pen for a moment (it tried to bite her, but she dodged with no trouble), then wrote in neat, bold letters:

She drew the name they'd chosen in classic lightning letters:

And anyone who said that was lame could answer to her. So there. Three gorgeous girls (okay, Sammy was going to need a little makeover but she could manage that) doing some seriously rockin hard rock? They were a shoo-in.

Pachua swept up the piece of paper with a thin smile and jotted down the information. Of course they'd do a band... he still thought they'd do best with a 4th member but whatever....

Was going to be outstanding.

Why was signing up left to Lucien? No one would truly ever know but here he was, signing up by the end of his hair. It was truly a miracle he had made it on time. He didn't know his band members very well, but somehow he had found his way into a band with a cat and a wisp. If anything, it would at least prove interesting. A little curious how it would all turn out, Lucien had never really sung in public before and the band hadn't even settled down on a genre.

He slowly wrote down the band members, starting with himself and finishing with the wisp. The drummer? It seemed odd, but whatever. It would work.

After a moment, he took a sharp breath. Oh Jack. Oh Jack. Oh Jack. Why didn't Jack tell him what their band name would be! Tapping his feet against the ground, the air elemental paced in front of the paper. He started to write...

Group Name: Darker Skies

It was sure how he felt at the moment. It hadn't even started and Lucien could already feel a cloud forming over his head about to open up and rain on him. Lucien would have to find the cat and wisp later and make sure they were all on the same page. Lucien didn't want to embarrass himself when it wasn't on purpose. He wouldn't want to actually intentionally want to forget something like embarrassment. Darker Skies would just have to light up the stage.
