It wasn't mine, but it's still my favorite. My first was Clamp School Detectives, by Clamp.
Was DK your first manga, or something else? If so, what?

I'm counting it as my first, as it was the first one that I actually read. I had actually read a couple random books of Magic Knight Rayearth(nice series, btw) before, but not in order, and only out of bordom. Mind, I started DK out of bordom, too, but I continued it for the plot. >o>;

On one hand, no, DK was not my first manga. On another hand, yes, it was. It wasn't my first read manga but bought manga. My sis, Chibi_baka, bought up to vol 6 of DK then the plot got too dark for her taste and I continued buying it. ^^;; I guess that was the only reason I started buying manga. But after that I have bought more and more.
First manga I read was actually Gundam Wing.

Actually, DK was my first manga. Ahh, I remember it so clearly. I was wandering through Suncoast, bemoaning the fact that I did not have any money for anime, when I saw this little stand, advertising three or four different volumes of manga, DK being one of them. Well, I didn't have enough money to buy a DVD, but I did have enough to pick one one of these manga things (before then, I had only watched the anime I could bum off my friends). And there were cute boys on the front, who looked interesting, not to mention dragons. So buy it I did, and I have been hooked ver since.

infact, DK was my first manga, considering the other thing that could have been considered....just kind of sucked. But it took me 3 months in order for me to get my mom to let me buy #1, because she "didn't like the violence". and told me that it wasn't allowed to turn into an "I HAVE TO HAVE THEM ALL THING!!"...broke that rule immediately.....

It wasn't my first, actually I read it after my sister bought it. She got so confused when reading 1-5(in order too), she stoped buying eek gonk crying So I told to either start buying again or trade them to me for something, so we traded and I am the happy owner of Dragon Knights vol. 1-21 saveing up for vol.22 mrgreen I will never understand how she got so confused, I could skip 2 of 'em and have it make perfect sence?(I skiped 10 and 11 to read 12) I think I never will

Gundam wing vol 2 was my first manga, it is still sitting on my shelf... falling apart because I loved it so much..
Dragon knight and chobits were my second manga... I remember I wanted to get chobits 1 and 2 but they had only 1 and 3, so I got one then cruised for another manga.. I loved dragons so I looved at the 'dragon' titles and saw dragon knights... so I grabbed it, and read the first few pages... but I have Rath to thank for getting me hooked onto dragon knights.. because what caught me was..*gets her book one, and carefully opens it, since it is kinda falling appart in the beginning* and I quote, "LAZY BUM!" Which Rath yelled at Thats, who complained about getting tired of killing demons.
Hehe *huggles Thatz and Rath, then pounces on Teceous, gnawing on his hair* Teceous: ...... =_=; Neko, what have I told you about that? I only remember alot of yelling....

I bummed it off my friends, until book 15, then the plot got too dark for them and they stopped buyin. I still have yet to pic up where I left off...... crying It's a very sad story that, sadly, belongs to me...

*chuckles* That's the problem with borrowing stuff from your friends. If they're not interested, then you have no more manga. None of my IRL friends like DK ( crying ), so I've just had to buy the series myself.

The only reason I haven't bought any yet is that I don't have a job. But when I do, it's manga time! 3nodding But first I have to de-lazified enough to GET the job in the first place. Then I have to go through the entire "buying process". In any case, it will sadly be a while...

............. *GLOMPS NADIL* G-Wing was my first manga too~! ...I am still missing "battle of the pacifists" or whatever, and "ground zero" But I have the rest!!
...On official manga (as G-wing is more of an anime series), yes, DK was my first manga. Left a rather unsatisfactory impression with those early books, I must say. Didn't (and still don't) really like the early ones. Go figure.
Now of course, obviously, I love it to pieces (I better, once buying seven or eight books in one go and coming back for three more the day after.... $.$ I swear I almost died.)
...Yeah.

I can't remember what number DK was for me, I'm such a manga whore. I think I have at least twenty serieses (seri?) stacked on my shelves. My first series was Love Hina; Barnes and Noble was having a sale and they were liie...3 bucks a book. So I, the remarkably silly person I am (knowing practically nothing about the series or how to read manga or any other such useful things) went "CHEAP BOOKS!" and bought ten. Lucky for me I loved them xd Although my parents thought I was an idiot for buying so many of what I knew little about (Mom: What if you don't like them? What are you going to do with ten books you don't like??? Me: But what if I only bought one and loved it? I would have wasted the sale!!!)
I got into DK sorta the same way Karill did, though; I was poking around in the graphic novel (loves that term xd ) of B&N looking to see if the next books in my other seri (Serieses?) were out...and I saw DK, decided it looked interesting, and there we go *grins*
