As Hotaru produced a smile at the Kazekage a man would emerge from the shadows of a tree backflip and land on the swords end as it found itself sinking into the earth in an upward position. "Ahhh hah hah hah" The voice would laugh and make it's presence known to Hotaru and perhaps those around her. She'd be familiar with this voice. The voice of a man who had frequently praised her for what often times was for nothing. "I'd recognize that soft skin and vivid glowing aura anywhere. Hotaru! Whose beauty shines even in the soot covered chambers or a forgers den! The diamond among the ashes!" There standing with what appeared to be perfect balance and scar flowing in the wind sporting an eccentric pose was Nakicho, scarf fluttering in the wind and pose precarious on the blades handle the imaginary spot light ever shining on his person. "So my little firefly? How are we? I notice you've gotten your headband. As have I! Look how far we've come! Soon we'll be recognized across the entirety of the continent!"

Hotaru didn't get so much as a word with the Kazekage before she discovered a familiar voice behind her. With a laugh that could be recognized from miles away and a flashy entrance emerged a man she had not seen since she graduated from the academy. "Ah! Nachiko! Good to see you again!." It seemed that the old man hadn't stopped hitting on Hotaru either, which didn't come of much of a surprise, given how he acts. "You know just how to make a girl feel loved, too." Hotaru said, giving a big grin and pushing lightly on the top of his sword to make him lose balance. "I've been alright, just trying to find work for the most part. There's not much to do in town in the ways of metalwork, so I gotta pass the time somehow else until I find a place. How about you? Is anyone bothering you now that you have your headband?" Nachiko looks like he should be at least a Jounin. Funny enough, he's still quite a ways away from that.

He paused he was displaying an act of incredible confidence but then it stopped like as if he had eaten something incredibly bitter or sour as his face grimaced. "Truth be told It could be better..." He instead of the usual frontflip off his swords he just stepped down from it before sheathing it. "Oh Hotaru, darling, my day has been completely uneventful. After getting my headband I headed to the Dojo but there was no one there to watch my professional displays of swordsmanship. Then I went to the ongoing festival and failed horribly at tossing rings, and I couldn't even win a game of chance!" He pulled out his wallet in the shape of a rose, it was embroidered with sequins and faux gold stitch. He opened it as a moth fluttered out and it jingled with pocket change. "Still..." He tucked away the wallet and his sullen demeanor changed as he grasped both of Hotaru's hands. "Still my day became extraordinarily better being in the presence of my friend with such raw talent. Speaking of which do you have my beloved Aka." Nakicho was of course referring to his sword passed down to him by the Raigyo clan before he ventured to the village hidden in the sand. A blade for the most part would have been normal in Hotaru's hands in the time she spent sharpening it from a little wear that Nakicho insisted was of critical importance. He had been using this substitute Odachi but it was clear he longed for his old weapon which he more or less considered a friend. He'd let go of Hotaru's hands and fan himself in a flamboyant manner. "Can't say anyone has as of yet, but I know my forge princess will defend me she has in the past."

It seemed that the old man had trained well, as pushing on the sword seemed to do nothing in the ways of unbalancing him. He did not act his normal self however as he stepped down to the floor rather than his usual flashy maneuver. After explaining to her why he had been feeling so morose, he would startle her, grasping her hands in his. He would proceed to try to flatter her again, followed by the question of his family's sword's location. "Ack! I forgot it at home, I was finishing up the final touches overnight and forgot to pack it!" Panicked by her mistake, she would calm herself down as Nakicho let go of her and fanned his face, with more flattery inbound. As Hotaru finally calmed down, she would take a step away from the man. "Haha, you just give me the nails and i'll hammer 'em. Now I'll go get your sword for ya, I'll be back soon." Hotaru gave a quick wave to him, then headed for her home.
Materializing out of what seemed to be thin air, Hotaru would appear in front of Nakicho. A large force of air rushed past the two of them as the air that she had displaced getting here would be forced forwards. Hotaru's hair would flutter slightly, like the flight of a firefly, and she would get up, removing her goggles from her eyes and setting them atop her head once more. "Miss me?" She said, removing the sword from her back and handing it to Nakicho. Putting her hands on her hips she would grin. "Perhaps you'd like to celebrate getting our headbands? I could treat you to a few festival games?" Hotaru would pat a pouch at her belt, letting Nakicho that she had money to spare.

Gone like the wind as they say. She was gone. That speed release sure was impressive. Nakicho would then lean on a tree. He then leaned against a tree and was wondering when she'd be back. He looked at the training groups he thought..maybe it'll be awhile so he stepped forward and was getting ready to initiate an elegant conversation. Until bam, she was in front of him. "My Hotaru! Have you gotten faster? Ahhh AKA!" Nakicho would express his sheer giddiness as Hotaru gave him his blade. It's edge sharper than the morning sun reflecting off a dew drop. Taking the blade he would hug Hotaru the blade itself precariously close between their persons. "Oh sorry darling!" He'd pull away hopefully not having nicked her. He would run his thumb from the end of the blade to its handle making a clean cut across. Typically this was associated with the release of a scroll but this would be new to Hotaru. The blood from his thumb would travel the length the blade. He didn't so much as wince. Suddenly the blade grew red...it then grew tinier edges on the blade like the scales of a fish or shark. they flowered outward then smoothed out. It looked like a normal blade now only red on closer inspection the serrations could be seen. It would be pretty nasty to be cut with something like that and to mimic such craftsmanship with these serrations would take a legendary smith to be sure. "It happens so much smoother now. A thousand thank you's Hotaru and I would absolutely love to try some of the more competitive events so long as you're with me. Ahahaha! The light of another star should rekindle the burning flames within my soul enough to truly display my prowess to inspire others!" The blade was then sheathed and as if some form of Genjutsu the mans elation manifested itself in sparkles around his person. It was his weapon picking up on his emotions. Something typically not attributed to your average everyday weapon. The man was now carrying two sixteen pound blades on his back showing little difficulty.

Theodin watched through the mist he'd created as sonyo worked her way through learning the couple jutsu, once he had them down, he smiled, "Good job, Sonyo! Now for a few more offensive jutsu." Theo walked over closer to the genin and held up his left hand before slowly performing a few handsigns. Once he finished, water from the spring rushed to surround a nearby dummy before rising up and rolling inward onto it like a never ending wave crashing. "This is the water torture technique. It's good for beating enemies into giving up information, or just beating them down for a while." He'd say with a chuckle. Suddenly, the water in the rolling circular wave would stop and recede as Theo held his left hand up again for Sonyo to see the handsigns he was using. Once he finished these, the water split into a thousand drops which floated into the air before elongating into needles. With a flick of his wrist, all the needles flew towards the dummy, making it into a pincushion. Looking back at Sonyo, "This one's called Thousand Flying Water Needles of Death, it's one of my go-to suiton to use in combos. Now for one more good attack jutsu." Theodin would beg another quick series of handsigns and a beam of water would shoot from the pool on the floor straight at the dummy's neck, taking its head clean off. "Water decapitation jutsu, tough to hit with sometimes, but useful." Turning to face Sonyo, Theodin smiled and motioned toward another dummy nearby, saying simply, "Try those out."

Perhaps Nakicho didn't hear her, dazzled by the sheer beauty of his sword. Either way, Hotaru wasn't going to wait on him. "If you're coming, don't let me leave you behind." Hotaru adjusted her new goggles, then headed for the door. Raising her arms above her head she stretched as she left, eager to try out some festival games.
Sonyo watched Theo carefully, then when it was her turn, she stepped up to the dummies. The first jutsu was the Water Torture one that he had been talking about. She focused her chakra in to hand seals, then controlled the water so that it almost perfectly replicated what Theo had done. She tried it a few times to make sure she had gotten it right, then she released it and moved on. [ 1 / 1;; Ijin Ryouiki Mizu Goumon [ Devil’s Domain Water Torture ] Learned! ]
The next jutsu was the Thousand flying needles technique, which she could probably use in a pinch. She moved back a little before closing her eyes, imagining the needles forming in her mind before making the hand seals. Drops of water began to float around her before they hardened in to almost senbon, and then she flung them at the dummy with a flick of her wrist. Like the technique before, she did it a few times to make sure she got the techinque down before moving on. [ 1 / 1;; Sensatsu Suishou [ Thousand Flying Water Needles of Death ] Learned! ]
The last final one was Water decapitation, which was also severely useful in the long run. Once again she concentrated, making hand seals. She focused a sharp wave towards the dummy, which missed at first. She tried once more, and this time the hit landed. She let out a sigh of relief, scratching at her cheek. Sonyo then turned to Theo, bowing. "I need to train a few things on my own, I'll be back soon though Theo-san!" And with that she moved away from the Jounin to her own little area of the Academy.

Taka entered the building; ignoring the stares of people and making note of the various faces. She went to a secluded little spot of her own, in sight of various people but out of the way. She grabbed a book on the laws of suna as well as a few jutsu scrolls. She was falling behind on her studies and decided that getting a jump on that would be beneficial.

They have 1/2 the user's chakra and stamina pool, while only being able to manipulate a single element. At gennin, the user can choose a single trait associated with their animal companion. "Alright child go get some more books. We have a lot to teach this mutt. She's not a natural like the fleebag over there..." He motioned towards Daichi. Rolling his eyes as Fenris moved in he mocked her further. "What are you going to do sweety? Come at me with your teeth? That'll be the first useful thing you've done all day!" Kakashi began to yell at her partner as he was frustrated with her a bit. It was obvious that Fenris was indeed Kiyoko's partner. However the issue was that she wasn't feeling the pull. It had to be due to the fact that they hadn't spend that much time together. He placed his hand upon his chin and thought about what he could do to help her.
As Kiyoko watched as Fenris and Kakashi seemed to go back and forth she smiled a bit. She walked towards the books not looking in front of her. Giggling at the antics as they continued to display their disapproval for each other. Fenris began to growl and voice her opinion with vocal noises. Kakashi in return yelled at her informing her how much of a flea bag she was. The smile grew wider as she couldn't contain herself anymore. It was honestly adorable how the two were with each other at the current time. It got to the point where Fenris pounced upon Kakashi and sat on his chest. Kakashi shouting at her to get off of him only to earn a vocal howl from her. Kiyoko shook her head once more with the smile upon her face until something occurred.
As her weight pushed into something she realized it all too late. She had bumped into someone and knocked the both of them down. Falling to the ground with this stranger she was sent into a panic as she hurried to sit up. "I'm so sorry!" She squeaked out as she was afraid. She quickly grabbed the book that belonged to the individual and then was about to hold out her hand to help before attempting to get up. However when her golden eyes laid upon the stranger she ended up dropping the book again. She bumped into a beautiful pale woman who... who wasn't wearing anything to cover her chest! As Kiyoko blushed she continued to look at the woman as she was stunned currently unable to decide on what to do. Lost within this woman's eyes who's chest was hidden by her long blonde hair.
Taka had the breath knocked out of her. Something that rarely happened. She dropped her book to the floor and looked down at the offender, her features softening as she realized it was only an accident. "Thats alright. s**t happens." She said as she reached out for the book only to have it fall again. She would have normally been a little upset at this, like it was some prank but the look on the girls face betrayed everything about her thoughts. "Yep...thats the usual reaction. So while I have your undivided attention....Im taka and Im not from here. You are?" She asked extending a soft hand out to help the girl up, waiting for her to take it and not even worrying about the book of law that fell from her arms. In the end if she needed to figure out a law, the general dont be a b***h rule tended to apply. She brushed a bit of her hair over her own ear as she reached down to help.

Sonyo's head turned towards the door as a female walked in, it took her a few moments to recognize who it was, but then the face matched up with a name. It was the lady from the office when she first arrived in the village! She opened her mouth to talk to her, but it seemed like she was busy as another female crashed in to her. She remembered the woman as Theodin's daughter, which still mystified her to some extent. She sighed, feeling her heart ache a little; everything was more lonely without Nari here, why was he taking so long....?
Back to her training, she cracked her knuckles and walked over to the myriad of books inside the academy. She picked up one on ice formation and moved to a table to study. Flipping open the book, Sonyo began to worry more. Where had Nari disappeared to suddenly? He seemed like he was in a rush but she had thought he would be back sooner... The young female shook her head, Nari would be back soon enough.... right? [ 1 // 3 ]
Sonyo looked up all that she could on ice formation and how it worked, and started drawing out plans in her head. Coupled with her Doraihyouton, blanketing everything in ice could be very devastating along with very useful as well. Anyone who had any skin exposed would surely have a bad time in such an environment. She made note of everything that she'd have to do in order to make the jutsu work before closing the book and making her way back over to her little corner. She would do it small scale first, then at a larger scale. [ 2 // 3 ]
Sonyo made the necessary hand seals before placing her hands on the ground and beginning to focus her chakra in to the air. She drew the moisture from the air to the ground and froze it over with a thick layer of ice, normal practice, but then she began to spread it over everything, including a living plant that was near by. Her ice spread to a point where she was sure it wouldn't hurt anyone, and then she let it recede. It was a success, and sonyo dusted off her hands before continuing. The next was a medical technique, so she got back up and moved over to the bookcases once again, this time grabbing a book on membranes. She walked over to the table once more. She read about how membranes worked and what she could do to benefit herself using them. She could fashion a membrane out of chakra to help her breathe in harsh environments. [ 1 // 2 ]
Sonyo made the necessary hand seals and then put her hand over her face, concentrating her chakra. At first nothing came out, but then she could feel the bubble of chakra forming. She pulled her hand away slowly, hoping the bubble stayed and it did. She took a few test breaths, then adjusted the membrane to make breathing easier. but she had the basics. She let go of the jutsu, letting the membrane fade. [ 2 // 2; Oxygen Mask learned! ]

J u t s u x L e a r n e d / U s e d > Hyouton: Frozen Wasteland: After making a series on hand seals, the user will begin to pull the moisture from the air and freeze it; said ice will cover everything in a circular range. This is plates everything in the surrounding area in an inch thick layer of ice. The user cannot break the hand seal in till the ice formation is finished, thus the advance of the ice will halt before it's finished. Not having been made of Hyouton ice, the ice can be broken by techniques of the same rank. > Oxygen Mask: The user covers the mouth and nose of the target in a thin layer of chakra. This layer of chakra creates a selectively semipermeable membrane that lets only oxygen in and letting all exhalation waste out. This has many positive benefits like helping those with troubles getting enough oxygen in to their system. It also filters the air breathed in by the person effected; filtering out any toxins, spores, viruses, and other unwanted particles like sand, dust, and ash out of the air before entering the lungs. This jutsu has the appearence of a bubble like film covering the mouth and nose. >

It sure was getting lively in the Academy these days, Bast remarked as she strolled in through the main entrance and noticed a minor commotion. She looked around for a table large enough for her to spread out the scrolls and reference books she had obtained from the library, but upon finding none, wound her way to a corner where she could spread her things out a bit. She set the texts down next to her and started looking over them, briefly skimming over the contents of each scroll before placing it on either side of herself--left for those she was going to learn, and right for those that needed to be returned. This would go on for a while, during which time she would listen to the ambient conversations around her. It sure was nice to be back, she thought.
As Kiyoko was lost in her thoughts she snapped out of it realizing that the woman was speaking to her. Shaking her head slightly to get some nerve behind her she took the woman's hand to be helped up. She bowed politely before her and responded appropriately. "Kiyoko Amaterasu." She spoke softly to the woman as she held her eyes closed while bowed. Quickly standing up right she let her eyes fall back onto Taka's eyes. Trying ever so hard not to stare at this woman's breasts.
