Prologue
My heart crushed, stripped from my chest and trampled on thousands of times, my life which was once bright now darkened by the betrayal I never saw coming towards me. My once happy, joy filled life now destroyed by someone who said they loved me, only to use me tell drier then the sands in a desert. My energies drained faster than a bucket without a bottom. It turn to the one thing that's never hurt me like this, being a assassin, its who I am its who I'll always be. Running away from all I once cared about, I don this black jacket as my sign of distance away from the world, away from people. I brandish a single silver blade that marks my position. My silver hair against my black attire, contrasting in the very least. My movements lethal, my logic deadly. Your life is only a game to me, a slight game of cat and mouse. My mission is only what I'm paid for nothing more nothing less. A hand hired to the highest bidder, and my target is you. I thought to myself remembering everything I set behind me. All the pain and suffering I was put through all part of my past. My life was now my own no one controlled me, but yet I find something missing. Something I cant buy with my money. "What is it that I long for?" I questioned, and the cold white ceiling of my apartment stared down at me no answer coming from it. I let out a sharp groan and slid out of bed picking up the weapons and placing them into their respected sheaths as I made my way into the attached bathroom. I leaned against the counter, my mind going, contemplating what I could want and still no results came up. "The heavens like to play a cruel game," I chuckled, "Little do they know I'm not someone to ******** with." I grabbed the handle of the sink the smooth metal brushing against my callused fingers, the feeling made me shiver. I quickly turned the water on and splashed it onto my face, rubbing my sleep deprived eyes. I reached for the acid green towel that was hanging from the rack, the soft wool rolling around my fingers as I dried my face, and then tossed it aside. I looked up at the mirror to see a young mans face looking at me, his deep gray eyes digging deep into my soul. The same eyes I used on so many others, to gain the information I wanted. I quickly looked away, not wanting to see if the trick would work on me. I walked back into my bedroom the darkness that greeted me would blind a normal human but this was my time of day, I could see my bed sitting in front of me a small paper sitting on my black comforter, a paper that wasn't there before. I scooped the paper up and read it over to myself before I grabbed one of my shirts and pulled it over my scar covered torso. It was time to go, because my next target had been selected.
