I was thinking yesterday--why am I trying to accumulate a fortune? I couldn't come up with a reason. sweatdrop
I don't have any quests for super rare, expensive items because nothing seems worth the cost (I like the Pale Marionette, but not enough spend millions on it).
I never buy anything anymore because I like it, only because I think I can make some gold off it.
So, I guess I spend all this time buying and selling because it's fun, but I feel kind of like I'm drifting without a goal.
Has anyone else gone through this? Any advice?

When you get to a point like that, if you're willing to, find a good charity, quest, etc. to donate a part of your fortune to.
But you should probably keep a small fortune on the side in case Gaia comes out with a new item that you like. Around 1-2 mil would probably do good. That way if it costs more than that, you'll have much more fun trying to raise enough to buy it. wink

I've found myself in this situation. It's at this point that I either stop going online for a couple days, or I decide to go on a shopping spree for myself,, maybe change my avatar, surf the forums. I just have to kick myself for a minute and remind myself that there's more to gaia than the market.

@Awaken14: Hm, I notice you have a quest thread. wink I wish I would have known you were collecting pancakes or I wouldn't have trashed/sold them. But, yeah, it's a nice idea. If I don't really have a goal, then I can help out others towards theirs.
@Archon: Thanks, I do need to find to just forget the MP for a while and go do something else so I won't feel so burnt. When I joined Gaia it was for RPing... that was a while ago though.

Oh yeah, I used to be at that point. But I found the joy of using my gold towards helping others who really need it in the Charity/Quests forum. I was questing a month ago but I quit it cause let's face it...I'm not a good quester. But I used my gold to help others and it makes me feel good. So yeah, I'm just left pondering what to do with the leftover I saved for myself. :3

And rp's? Yeah, that can be a distraction too, but only if you find someone amazing.

I had that moment, about six months ago.
Since then, I've been saving up to hold a tournament to better my friends' RPing abilities. :3
It's been worth every minute of painstaking work. I'm done saving up for myself.
