So, this is the place you'll first want to post, just a simple "hello!" just to show yourself, or even a discussion is allowed in here.
Just to start, I'm Hassan (or Kang if you want to be irl'ish) and I've been Questin' (Warriorin' in my case) since five Summers ago approximately. My Dad is a nerd himself boasting the rights to brag about having I-IV on NES and beating them and one day out of boredom, I decided to pop Dragon Warrior (the original one) into the NES, and just to say, that was the first game for NES I have ever pulled an all nighter on next to Dragon Warrior III and IV. -_- I may have the advantage over my dad now as I have the right to say I beat them all (main series) with the exception of VII and VIII, but my dad will always be that one Physics geek who introduced me to Dragon Warrior/Quest as well as the Final Fantasy series if anyone plays that series as well.
My favourite one would be IV out of all the pretty music and wonderful characters (Alena, AW YEAH!) and there will be no least favourites. mad I'm trying so hard to get over my fear of II...

Hey there. I'm ThePersonInFrontOfYou. I got Dragon Warrior III when I was 9, and I liked it. But I didn't become a big DQ fan until I played VIII in 2005. I love its great execution, its music, its creative quests, and its ability to be charming, simple, interesting, and at times pretty emotional without being verbose or stupid like most other JRPGs out there. DQ is just fun. It puts fun and diversity before stupid preachy messages, and for that, the series has my everlasting respect.
I know for a fact that now, I love DWIII now more then I ever did as a kid. It feels like a different game now.
My favorite game in the series is VIII, followed closely by V. What really puts VIII above the others, in my opinion, is it's enormous scale. Everything in that game feels huge and wondrous, and the magnificent Sugiyama score really brings it up to 11. That, and it has my favorite romance in all of gaming. Something has to be said about the skill of the writers when I can say, without any irony, that the most natural feeling romance in any game takes place between a mute and a horse.

DQIX did this next bit for me.
"Hi.Liam.Cave Dweller."
Anyway, inbetween bouts of Little King's Story, Monster Hunting and stalking Platinum King Jewels, I tend to pop up on Gaia. If it wasn't obvious, my first game was IX, though I was intent on getting VIII, and this is the bit where I run out of things to say, because I'm not the best at these type of posts.

Hi. Name's Wakazor and my first game was DQ VIII. I got addicted to the series ever since and it soon became my favourite series. I've bought DQ VIII, IX, the DS remake of V, Joker, Swords and Rocket Slime and my favourite has to be a tie between VIII, IX and Joker. My favourite monsters are the slime knights and mimics. Aaaaaaaaaaand I can't think of anything else to say so. X3

Aaand in this corner is yet another newbie uneducated in anything before DQVIII.
I got it a few years ago, and I fell in love with it. I'm kind of bad at actually buying new things, though so I never really chased after the series... but someone near me is an avid fan, and I think I might have to for the sake of sanity!
I love writing fanfic, and I am a passable digital artist. Not good, but I can put something down digitally and I suppose somebody would grudgingly admit that it is art.
That's me!

Greetings. I'm afraid I've never played one of these games until I got Dragon Quest IX. However, if I ever finish playing this game, I think I may have to try some of the others, if I can find them around. I haven't been so addicted to a game since I discovered the first .hack game for the PS2.

Welcome one, welcome all. Come on in and have a ball. whee
Black Nekomata, if you've got a Ps2, you could probably pick up a used copy of DQVIII for around 15 bucks. And there are a few games in the series that have been remade for the DS as well.
I hope you enjoy it here.

Apparently my faulty memory decided to make a liar of me. Earlier today I unearthed some old gameboy games I had. In the box I found Dragon Warrior Monsters, and Dragon Warrior Monsters 2... So I guess I have played some. I forgot, but now I remember playing them, though I never finished either, I'm sure.
I'll have to check out the used game stores around here. If I can find one for the PS2, I'll probably get it! I do prefer being able to carry my games around with me, though. That's why I like DS games so much. My mother and grandmother are not able to drive, so I end up being the one to take them to their various doctor appointments.

My dad got it and i thought i would give it a try, but since i was only a little kid i couldnt understand what they were talking about... then when they made a remake of the first two for the GBC, i was able to understand and even beat both of them! im still playing VIII but I am also playing V, and IX!

Lolwut Pear invited me about a week ago. ;O
I started off with DQ VIII when I saw it on the Square Enix website. I never beat it. T.T.... I got IX a week ago today. 8D. I really wanna get the DS remakes that have been put on the DS, but I have to find them. Currently I'm hunting down $10 for Joker. I've played the original DW on an emulator. Those are the only four I've played. >>
I need mooooooar!
Though, I find it funny in DQ VIII how your main character is SILENT.... But the horse talks!! It's also funny how he just waves his arms around in the same pattern and everyone understands.

Welcome, Virtas, glad to see you here. We are still rather small at the moment, but we are making plans on how to get ourselves out around Gaia. How went your DW run though, was it as frightening as when I first played it?

The Lolwut Pear Welcome, Virtas, glad to see you here. We are still rather small at the moment, but we are making plans on how to get ourselves out around Gaia. How went your DW run though, was it as frightening as when I first played it? Probably not. XD It's the only game I can think of where you can beat it around lv20-30.
