Main Building - This building is restricted access. It is mainly used by the teaching staff though the main entrance caters to registration and setting up students with classes. Other than the first few rooms not much is known about the Main building other than it is where a large majority of the teaching staff reside while not in class. There also seems to be something mysterious going on down below....but was there supposed to be a basement?
Building A - This building is the first section of classes. Most of these classes are basic courses: math, social studies, history, science, health, and so on. Though the courses are 'basic' does not mean they are easy. The top level of this building is designated for alchemy and the science behind it.
Building B - Building B houses the fine arts, music, drama, design, and so on. The top level of this building caters to magic users and how to develop their powers.

((I figure we will add to this as we go))

Open House!

The Auditorium of the school was set up and decorated to look its best. The room was filled with new and old students, teachers and parents. It was open house. Everyone was brought together to get to know one another. It was a fine time for students to mingle amongst themselves and for the parents to ask questions to the teachers present. In the back there were large tables set up with drinks and snacks for all to part take of.

After a half hour of socializing a well dressed woman walked up on stage, her face the very picture of business. With grace she made her way to the podium where she called everyone's attention.

"If I could have everyone's attention please." She spoke into the microphone and waited for a moment for people to redirect their attention. "Welcome, everyone." She began a small smile on her face. "For a lot of you this is your second, third, or fourth year here. Welcome back, we hope this year will be as good as the last were. For some of you this is your first time in Nao Academy. We extend our warm welcomes to you and wish that your years with us will be filled with much success. I'm going to keep my introduction brief and allow our headmaster to offer us a few words before we continue with open house. If any of your have questions please fill free to get in touch with the staff here. We will be more than glad to help."

Taking a step back the woman looked off to the side of the stage awaiting for the headmaster to appear and take her place at the podium.

When it was time, Hakim went up towards the podium and smiled as he looked over the room full of students both new and returning. Some seemed enthused to be there, while others looked as if they would rather be somewhere else. Others still, looked perhaps a little nervous or confused.

"Flame tongued salamanders and crinkly toads," he said before nodding and bowing.

The lady that had introduced Hakim fell back into herself, placing a hand to her face. She should have known he would say something strange, he did it almost every year. "Ah ha ha!" She laughed nervously as she stepped back up to the microphone to address the audience. "That's our Headmaster. Always full of humor." Forcefully pushing him aside she tried to wrap things up. "Please continue to mingle amongst one another, and as I said feel free to ask questions. Again, welcome to Nao Academy." Covering the mic with her hand she turned an irked look toward the Headmaster. "What are you doing saying stuff like that? Parents are going to wonder what kind of place they are leaving their children."

Indeed, one would wonder what kind of place this was, though for Mitsu it wasn't her parents who were worried. It was only her as she turned to her only remaining relative. Nervously she tugged at Ginji's sleeve. "Ginji." She said meekly. "I Don't know about this place."

"Keh, that's the Headmaster for ya." Neko had been watching from the back of the auditorium. It was his duty to clean up afterward, but in the meantime he was going to enjoy the snacks. "Servant." He snapped his fingers in Caleb's direction as if to summon him. "Get me more of those little snack cakes, the ones with the creme in the middle."

Quiet as ever, Suto sat along the far wall, a cup of tea in his hand. He really hated these social gatherings, he had far better things to do with his time. The only good that came from these things was looking over his potential patie - students. No matter, soon he would be released to go back to his lab and continue with his work.

Marty, trying his best not to trample any feet, stood as still as possible as people approached. He was an oddity of a teacher, though it was a testament of the variety of people that were apart of this school. He smiled and made nervous conversation, tugging at the neck tie he wasn't used to wearing. Once or twice he glanced around the room hoping to catch sight of someone, but his gaze never seemed to settle on who he was looking for.

"Oh you know how I hate giving speeches. Besides, our school, while a privileged one, is not one to follow the norm," replied Hakim with a soft grin. Chuckling to himself, he went on to mingle about.

Rubbing the back of his neck, Blade had to wonder why Hakim went about like that, but it amused him nonetheless. With that... welcoming speech done, the glanced about idly, spying some familiar and unfamiliar faces. For now, he kept more towards himself, not really spotting anyone he wanted to hang around just yet.

Shun also was keeping to himself. In fact, he was out in the hall. He felt no need to be at the open house as he was fairly certain there wouldn't really be anything for him there. It was also quieter out here, and considerably less people. Leaning against the wall, he mused to himself about various things and about his mixed feelings regarding the school.

Atticus sat in the back of the assembly room with his legs crossed, reading the newspaper. Nobody ever came to the school 'nurse' to ask questions, though he sort of liked it that way. Less of a chance for him to get into trouble by saying something off-colored to one of the parents. If only he was allowed to smoke in the building...

------------

A girl clad in the male's uniform walked down the unfamiliar halls of a new school. Same old, same old. Though it had a different layout, each one she went to was the same. It held the same kinds of people with the same dispositions and stereotypical judgments.

Walking behind her was a woman who only lacked an inch on the younger girl, but made up for it with tall shoes. Her hair, though shorter, was the exact same color. She appeared to be a woman of business. One of those well-to-do for themselves types. Her heels click-clacked down the hall as they approached the assembly room, promptly stopping right before the door. "Hold it." The woman said in a stern voice, causing what appeared to be her daughter to pause.

"I payed damn good money to get you into this school, you ungrateful little s**t." The older woman's words seethed with malice, though she attempted to be hushed about their little conversation. "There'll be no more transferring after this. Either you make it here, or I toss you out to live in the streets."

The girl didn't turn around. Her red eyes focused on the hallway ahead as if she had left her head to disappear into another world.

"You listen to me, goddamnit." Her mother hissed and grabbed her arm to turn her around, squeezing as hard as she could. The girl complied, if only to get it over with. She didn't flinch from the roughness. It was something she was used to. "If I have to come back here because of something you do, I'll-" She paused, realizing this probably wasn't the place to discuss it. Letting go of her arm, the business woman put on a fake smile. "Have a fun time dear. I love you." The words had obviously been pushed out, and she obviously didn't mean it.

With that, the woman turned on her heels to leave. She had made no plans to examine the school or see if the teachers were up to par. Just like always. She didn't care as long as her daughter wasn't in the house.

"Oy!" Neko suddenly realized his summons wouldn't be catered to. Caleb was no where close by. "Where has that brat run off to?" He hissed as he made his way to the table to grab his own sweets. Once to the table Neko grabbed up one of the cakes only to have his attention drawn toward the hall. He couldn't see who exactly was there, only shadows gave him the idea of someone's presence. Thinking it was perhaps the boy, Neko moved in that direction. Pushing open the door he started with an irritated tone.

"Hey, you shouldn't be running off. When I ...oh?" His voice faltered a little when he noticed the person was not who he expected. At first sight he thought it to be a male student with really long hair. With the uniform who would guess right the first time? But as his eyes settled in on her features he realized it was a girl. Oh well, who was he to judge how anyone dressed. "Um....why are you out here?" Looking up he saw the retreating form of what he supposed was the girl's mother.

Suto mentally wished to shoot himself as a set of parents came up to introduce themselves and inquire about the work he did for the school. With a forced smile he stood to his feet but did not offer his hand. His explanation was rehearsed, something he had practiced with over and over again. It was thorough enough that there left little room for questions in the end but short enough so that he wasn't holding their attention for too long. When they seemed satisfied they walked off to greet another member of the staff leaving Suto to heave a sigh. "How taxing."

As the man approached, Riyo waited for her mother to disappear before entering. "Waiting for this to be over so I can be shown my room and end yet another day in dissatisfaction." She responded as if she'd said it numerous times before. Her eyes didn't really focus on him, they simply gazed off into nowhere. There was no joy on her face. Nothing positive in her appearance. In fact, just staring at her for a prolonged period of time might give somebody a feeling of sadness. What an emo kid. "What time is this event scheduled to conclude?"

Neko scoffed. What an unpleasant vagabond. "Seems to me you don't really want to be apart of this whole shindig they got going on. Why not get your papers from the four legged mammoth and be on your way?" Moving back toward the door he opened it and gestured toward Marty who was still in the same spot, afraid to move and trample toes.

At the moment no one was addressing him, but that didn't make him look any less nervous. Idly he rotated his glass of punch in his hand, only stopping when a student came to inquire about their school schedule or rooms. At that moment he would turn to the bags he had strapped to his sides, sorting through the countless names he had been given. Most of the older students already had their papers, knew their classes, and were already assigned roommates. However, there were a few stragglers, new students, and transfers to attend to.

"An excellent idea." That was the kind of response Riyo had been hoping for. She was about to head on her way, but momentarily paused. "And what might you be teaching, sir?" She asked as her black cat ears twitched. He hadn't exactly been dressed like one of the teachers, but she wasn't sure what other employee of the school would want to be here at this awkward meeting of unfortunate souls?

"Keh, Teaching?" Neko smirked as he moved back into the auditorium turning his back on the girl. "I'm not really qualified for that sort of thing. I'm just the janitor." Waving a goodbye he went back to looking for his slave, sure to chew him out for being absent.

Suto took quick notes on those present that could be of potential use. A lot of the first years looked promising, and the little transfer student would probably do nicely. She didn't look to have parents with her, so all the better. Less to worry about her while she was here.

It had taken him a good while, but eventually the rat managed to find his friend loitering around the halls.

"Ah! Dere ye are Shun. Been lookin' all o'er for ya. What are ye doin' out 'ere?" he asked while tilting his head. He had a feeling what the answer would be, but he went on to ask anyway.

"Eh. You know I can't stand most of the people around here," mumbled Shun, remaining staying where he was. He had no intention of joining the bulk in the main hall at the moment.

Still, Blade wasn't having much luck finding anyone he wanted to really hang around. There were a couple staff members across the room and such that he managed to spot, but that was about it from what he could see.
