So, tonight was a horrible night!
Basically, I live down the street from my boyfriend and I was over but in his bedroom (which is in the basement of the house). When I opened the door to go for a smoke, there was a man running out of the house. I saw the man take off and called the cops. Basically the guy got a ps2 (which we recovered an hour later down the street) some food, tore apart our place and left his bike. It really sucked but we were ok until,
I noticed that my keys were missing.
I had left my keys in the room where the guys broke into.
Now, luckily they have no idea what those keys are for since they are keys to my house, not my boyfriends, and there was no id on them. But I am right now dog sitting for my landlord who lives upstairs in my house (I rent the basement) and have no way to get in!
And I work in 6 hours.
so basically I am sitting here at Chris' with no keys to my house, two little dogs who were let out last about 4-5 hours ago and with work to come. Sucks eh.
So, has anyone's homes been broken into before?
and have you ever recovered something of the thief's ?

That sucks so bad! I wish there was something I could do for you in person instead of offering ehugs and stuff. I wanna buy you guys some food to replace what was stolen and stuff. /hugs
While my house has never successfully been broken into, some guy tried really hard. He came by once, rang the doorbell and then tried breaking down the door. He left after about a minute and then circled around the block and came back and did the same thing. Repeat that more times, getting more violent each time. When I called the cops and gave a description of him and his vehicle, it turned out he was a serial burglar (and he killed someone at one of his robberies) that they were looking for. I never found out if they caught him or not, but during it all I was home alone because my family was at the hospital with my sister (she had surgery that morning and nearly died from it, so that added to the stress of the day) and the whole situation scared the ess out of me. gonk It was in 2006 and I still can't be home alone most of the time or it's just not pretty.

-huggsss- the ehugs are fine =) and we needed to go grocery shopping anywho.
yea Chris went to go and get us some coffee. So I am alone right now, but he left me his knife, just in case. We still have the theifs bike so I see him coming back..... crying

*hugs* ; A ; You know if I were up there I'd be there with you right now!!! Bastards! I hope they get hung by their balls. >8(
My Dad, when he was living alone, he was in the shower and someone climbed up the fire escape, opened the window and climbed inside. My Dad heard them, got out of the shower, quietly opened up his drawer by the bed, pulled out his gun and cocked it by the robbers head. The guy literally s**t himself, scrambled out the window, fell down the fire escape and ran away. Serves him right. A lady could have been showering! D:< Jerk.
I hope they trace them thru the bike and the ps2. :'( I'm just glad you're okay. And I hope those locks get changed! Call a locksmith asap in the morning and get them changed. I think the landlord will understand as long as you take care of the dogs and leave an extra key somewhere outside. mad I always hide an extra key somewhere or leave a window somewhere unlocked so I can climb inside.

D8 i'm sorry, Tammi...
someone broke into my house in grade 9. I came home to find the back door kicked down. Our monitor, all of our DVD's a crappy camera (that they thought was digital) among other items were gone. I was scared shitless since I was the first home.
My dad came home to find the cruiser at our house and thought I did something wrong =_=

I agree with this logic!
As ghetto a neighborhood we live in, we have (Thank the Lord)
not ever had someone break into the apartment but people have
had our car hit and run (we use to park on the street), slash our
tires and someone was chased through our backyard by the cops.

"Two kids tried to break into my house to beat my sister up. My dad was all like "Is there a friggin PROBLEM here?!" and they ran away. We calle dthe cops but still >_> My sister hangs out with such crazies x__x;"
