so I got one of those randomly while flipping through... said it wanted my username and password :/
a wee bit skeptical. -closed it-
anyone else get this?

Those are scammer pop-ups. People put scripts into images, so if you have all images enabled on your account, you're bound to run into quite a few of those while surfing. You put your name into one of those pop-ups, you're account's hacked, no doubt about it.

Gaia will never ask for your password, so it's not Gaia that puts those pop-ups up. The ones y'all run into are from hackers/scammers trying to get your password so they can take your account over.
If you see one of those pop ups again, report the thread/profile you ran into it in and a mod will take care of it and get rid of it.
If they thought you were a bot, you'd get the "Woah, slow down hotshot!" error page. They give that to anyone who refreshes the page too fast or if they're surfing fast enough. If you get that page too often in too little time, you're temp banned for about 15 minutes or so. Multiple offenses of that get you permanently banned. Gaia isn't one to take bots lightly.

One of my friends... her daughter's account got hacked by phishers. D8 So her account got permabanned for having those notification things that ask for username and password and whatnot. She's like... thirteen D8
