well im a freshie in highschool this year and thursday and friday were my first days of marching band camp. i also have everyday this week plus our first performance on saturday. we practice from 8am-5:30pm everyday. this is my first time ever in color gaurd and im actually pretty good at it...i can do the things like the soupster, butterfly, and back scratch...but my hands keep going the wrong way doing the normal drop spin DX any tips? the song we are playing goes kinda fast and it is mostly just doing 4 counts of drop spins then a back scratcher...and some tosses sometimes and i cant stop the flag quick enough on the pole hits...any tips??

well, my guard uses different terms so i kinda have no idea what you're talking about (except drop spins lol) but if its the tempo thats messing you up, try to practice it really slow until you've got the motion down, and then try speeding it up. i'd give u drop spin tips but idk if you guys do them the same way we do. (you'll probably notice that different guards have different techniques to do the same things.) and for stopping the flag (idk what u do before that, but...) squeeze the pole, and "engage your muscles" like my coach likes to say smile
