So what's the best weapon for home defense? Personally I think it's hard to beat a sawed-off shotgun, but since that's illegal, a 357. revolver would be my next choice. What do you think?

With a semi-auto, you have to disengage the safetly. A shotgun could leave holes in the walls. Revolver's fast to draw and not likely to mess anything up.

I actually prefer a revolver for home defense just because there is no safety, and you don't have to worry about weather or not the chamber is loaded, so you know for sure that it's ready to rock as soon as you pick it up. Also the fact that it carries fewer shots and takes so much longer to reload doesn't really matter when you're opponent is in the same room as you are. And a shotgun of legal length would be difficult to maneuver around corners.

12 guage with buckshot. Guranteed hit. And besides, I already have enough holes in my walls so what's 40 more?

Moon clips hold the rounds in place, fit right into the cylinder, and you don't drop the empty shells all over the ground when you hit the ejector, so collecting the brass if you reload is even easier.

Aakosir 12 guage with buckshot. Guranteed hit. And besides, I already have enough holes in my walls so what's 40 more? Are you saying that anything isn't a 'guarunteed hit' when your in a house? You're not likely to be more than 10, maybe 15 feet from your target, so you just point and shoot. 12 guage would probably knock them back, which could result in broken chairs or tables, maybe picture frames on a counter, or anything valuable that might be there.

Actually you can get speed loaders for revolvers, that's mostly what they're for. When you said moon clips I was thinking half moon clips, that's why I was confused.

bulletmaster36 Sega 12 gauge, unless u can run really, REALLY fast, the semi-auto 12 gauge buckshot will tear you to pecies Sega is a primitive video game company. Saiga is the shotgun. And if you're in close quarters, a shotgun's barrel could make it a bit akward. I'd prefer Taurus Judge.

Yea but what's a little .410 compared to a 12 gauge? I'm not arguing with you, I think the Taurus Judge is a better choice for home defense than a regular shotgun, but just because it fires shotgun shells doesn't mean is has the same advantage as a regular 12 gauge.
