Hey everyone I did this recording of this song I've been working on. I actually recorded it for my drummer friend so he could get an idea, and had no intention of letting anyone else see it originally. So, forgive the timing. This is the basic structure of thie song (so far) and I'm havin a hell of a time working out a fitting solo sad Anyway , I'd love to hear all your comments. Enjoy. m/

Sounds pretty sweet mate! You've got some very cool sounding riffs going on!

My impressions were pretty elemental:

Add dynamics! That clean bit at the end would be very cool layered into the middle section somewhere. Basically if you've got a song that's heavy all the time you won't get the chance to drop a real bomb later on, it'll seem more like a cap gun.

Practice the song away from delays, reverbs, compressors and even distortions. If you can make the chords sound crisp and clear without distortion it'll help you when you do put on the gain. Also, practice with a metronome. It's the very best way to get good rhythm.

I really enjoyed some of the riff work, especially what I'm calling the chorus (think it's Eb, Cbmaj7...well, in power chord speak, Eb6... ish xD). Sorry my ears quite rusty, I've been working a lot and as we all know, work practice isn't real practice.

Theres a couple of timing issues and the occasional note that clashes just that bit too much, but I assume that's because of the 'one shot' demo recording nature, as everything else seems rather tight.

I think your drummers going to have a lot of fun putting beats behind this, that's for sure. Are you intending for solos? I only ask because your main difficulty there may be how busy the rhythm section is. As said above, it's always good to save something back, just to have something to really blow minds later on.

All in all, I highly anticipate the complete version, and I'm sure it'll be as epic as that ******** chorus section! Seriously it's like Power Rangers meets LOTR meets Paul Gilbert...

*Hums it to self, air guitaring wildly*

EDIT: Just read the first post again. Yes, you are working on solos... well... awesome!
