My friend is getting married next week. It's an afternoon wedding.
I have neither the time nor the money to go get my hair done professionally.
I need easy-to-do-by-yourself ideas for up styles.
Warning: I have really curly/frizzy shoulder-length layered hair.

I really really want to help but I honestly know NOTHING about hair styling.
You could try one of those 'pin back the sides so it looks kind of like a half ponytail' things and then straighten it or something?

For an afternoon wedding? Honestly I would just put a some frizz control/curl definer and in wet hair or however people achieve that 'curly hair that looks wet but is dry and neat' look and toss a nice headband in it to pull it back from my face. Afternoon weddings tend to be more casual.

Girls, remember where I am. There is NO WAY, outside of spending $200 on a round-trip ticket to Tokyo, that I'm going to find frizz control/curl definer/strong enough wax for my curls. The back of my head does not curl at all, just frizzes. The rest of my head I can get really good baby doll curls, but the back does not cooperate at all. This is why I want an up-do. Have some curls hang down in the front and pin all the back up in a cute barrette. Straighten the back to help it go nicely.

How about maybe a pulled back style with possibly some little ringlet curls?
It's easy, but looks nice.
I have no idea what your hair looks like anymore, I haven't seen a picture in a while.

Here's what my hair looks like in the morning when I wake up:  I'll take a picture of what I'm thinking after I shower. Basically I pull the top section of my hair back into a bun, with maybe a few rouge curls pulled out to fall around my face, and have the rest of my hair down and curly. Add in a few cheapy silver and rhinestone hair accessories to match my necklace and shoes and I should be good to go.

I hate my hair. The front and sides curl so nicely, but the back is just crinkly frizz. I can't get it to curl at all, unless I put craptons of wax, gel and cream in it before using a curling iron. D:
